well said, it is all about personal preference. I prefer a more modern sound in melodeath, like BSC or newer In Flames, sometimes i think older melodeath can be very cheesy, but i think that most melodeath fans would not agree with me.
You know, SimAlias... I completely agree with that now. Hell, I can't even believe how I used to think otherwise! I'm so glad I forced myself to listen to the older albums more. Colony and Whoracle are definitely my favorite IF albums at the moment.
Oh, hell yeah. I also like In Flames newer music! While I'm not exactly a huge fan of their older music, I pretty much love any of their post-Clayman stuff. When you thought they couldn't get any better, they did... Damn, ''March to the Shore,'' from their latest album; There's not a single second of the song that I don't like. Not a single second... How many songs can you say that about?
Sweden/Finland. Theyre both amazing. Sweden produces more traditional melodeath than finland and finland is focused more on folk and in-depth influence. I love both equally.
Agreed! xD and yeh Metalcore takes a lot from Melodic Death Metal as they use the melodic quick riffs from droning open strings and patterned higher string notes, however Metalcore contains "breakdowns" which usually have a orchestral bang at the beginning which is a quick loud bang as they use a repeated patterned harsh chord verse.
lol, im totally the opposite, with both CoB and In Flames i started listening to thier older albums and progressed onto liking thier newer stuff (but not Blooddrunk; that sucked) I still enjoy the older stuff now and again but i like to hear more modern sounds these days, im more into industrial metal now anyway; for me Blood Stain Child is probably the best band at the moment, mixing melodeath with industrial/trance is very fresh and exciting.
I swear when I first heard one of their songs Cosmic Highway (BlazBlue combo video lol) I swear to god this band sounded like an american mertal band...knowing that this is a Japanese Metal Band makes it so much cooler cause they sound like a pure English band O>O
yes we all know how Sweden has some very good bands! we don't need to be told! imo Blood Stain Child are better than any Scandinavian bands but thats just what i think!
they're good :) i really like the band, i found them accidentally 1 year ago... about the comparison with CoB ... try Legend of dark, you'll see there's no difference between CoB and BSC on that song :) but i think that's good...everything about CoB is good, even the similar bands :)
@captainstabbin1 I have to agree with this. Mystic heart is their only album that sounds distinctly like Children of Bodom. From Idolater onwards, they have progressively moulded their sound to something original. Sure, there are some influences within their material, In Flames and Soilwork being the biggest in my opinion, but they are surely better than the "blend of" labels they are receiving here. Ha, they are on another planet to Enter Shikari, in terms of musicianship. No Doubt there.
Silent Descent is an ok band, check out a song called Duplicity. Violent Work Of Art are pretty good too, but more industrial sounding, no techno metal bands come close to being as good as BSC tho!
@FlagshipUnion, Try thier 2005 album: 'Idolator', its almost as good as mozaiq imo and it retains the modern sound. Thier older stuff has a less modern sound, more like old Children Of Bodom, its a little cheesy for my liking.
Well u could say the same about EVERY song the band Death ever played. U should look them up on youtube, I promise u won't listsen to anything else for at least one month.
While I think early CoB is indeed great (but don't know about Kalmah; Never even heard of them before), I do not agree. I think there's no band that beats In Flames when it comes to melodeath. And Arch Enemy is my second favorite melodeath band... so yeah. It all comes down to personal preference; There is no definite band, and neither country beats the other.
this is much more metaly than enter shikari so therye each good in their own right. and its not that much like cob except some synthy bits and also the metaly ness, it reminds me more of screamo+dragon force+ trance
Sorry for the compare but I think it sounds like you put Children of Bodom and Enter Shikari in a mixer. In a special mixer with an "extra japanese please" button
Well Dethklok are awesome man, they like brought Melodic Death Metal into a parody but didnt make fun of it, instead improvised it in a brutal way and like made lots of metalheads get into that kind of stuff, sure they aint like a real band but hey I still find their music cool even though its parodioc lol
well Sonic Syndicate aren't really Melodic Death Metal as they attain the Metalcore feel to their music, to me they sound really Melodic Deathcore in a way like Bleeding Through, true sounding melodic Death Metal bands are Dark Tranquillity, Insomnium, In Flames, Dethklok (even though theyre a comedy of Death Metal) and theres many more other examples. Blood Stain Child are MDM however they have the Trance essence in their music which makes it have that positive feel, as Trance has that element.
I see lol yeh I get what you mean, since I know a few good metal bands who have really good instrumentals but the vocals and screams arent really good, I for one think that Dethlok's vocals are pretty good for a parody even though its meant to sound like a parody, it still is good xD
i see no similarity to CoB in Blood Stain Child's new music, everything is completely different, despite what a lot of people might say. and as for Enter Shikari, they wish they were as good as this. BSC have much stronger songwriting and their musicianship is much better,as is the production of the album itself.
It has a very catchy intro-riff! Great overall atmosphere! Japanese-game, futuristic, punk, romantic-trance style!
This song is just awesome!
well said, it is all about personal preference.

1st time listening to BSC
awesome didn't know that there was melodic death metal bands from Japan, i also discovered the band Serpent from Japan.
Great song!!! The intro blows me away into space!!
You know, SimAlias... I completely agree with that now. Hell, I can't even believe how I used to think otherwise! I'm so glad I forced myself to listen to the older albums more.
Colony and Whoracle are definitely my favorite IF albums at the moment.
Transmetal, it's a new Genre that should rise.
Thats Awesome !!!
oh now that is just unfairly good
holy shit uberdanger finds the best songs
OMG!! this band is fucking amazing!! I love this song!! I love the metal with random techno sounding parts that come in. it's sweet.
this song sounds like when you blend in flames and enter shikari :) which isnt bad at all ^^
@TheLazaro94 You do realize In Flames and Children of Bodom are two of their biggest influences right?
Yep. I agree. I just wrote what I did because that other guy went all ''Finland > Sweden''. ^^
Oh, hell yeah. I also like In Flames newer music! While I'm not exactly a huge fan of their older music, I pretty much love any of their post-Clayman stuff.

Sweden/Finland.
Theyre both amazing.
Sweden produces more traditional melodeath than finland and finland is focused more on folk and in-depth influence.
I love both equally.
i have to get this cd!
O and while you're at it, I suggest u look up Kalmah too. Their guitarists are sick.
awesome band indeed

このバンド唯一カッコいい曲やな
fucking right VWOA are amazing!!!
The vocals are awesome, what are you talking about...
lol, im totally the opposite, with both CoB and In Flames i started listening to thier older albums and progressed onto liking thier newer stuff (but not Blooddrunk; that sucked) I still enjoy the older stuff now and again but i like to hear more modern sounds these days, im more into industrial metal now anyway; for me Blood Stain Child is probably the best band at the moment, mixing melodeath with industrial/trance is very fresh and exciting.
Wow ffs that intro is SO KICKASS!
@metalmayhem007 lost eden was the first melo death metal band that got me into japanese metal scene
The beginning always makes me think of Still Remains lol
love the triplets at 0:12
u shud hve put lyrcs on the description bud..tnx 4 uplding
they're good :)
i really like the band, i found them accidentally 1 year ago...

this band is better then an American band :p American music seems to be all cookie cutter these days
In Flames :P
@captainstabbin1

its the shit my friend!
In Flames and Dark Tranquillity are far more better than CoB.
@FlagshipUnion, Try thier 2005 album: 'Idolator', its almost as good as mozaiq imo and it retains the modern sound.

Sounds like BFMV in ways with electronic parts
this is much more metaly than enter shikari so therye each good in their own right. and its not that much like cob except some synthy bits and also the metaly ness, it reminds me more of screamo+dragon force+ trance
i love this band! :D
btw what does the robot say in the beginning?
Kevin Uchiha are you ready for the breakdown
i prefer BSC, they have more complex songs so its hard to get bored of listening to them.
came here bc uberdanger XD
Sorry for the compare but I think it sounds like you put Children of Bodom and Enter Shikari in a mixer. In a special mixer with an "extra japanese please" button

im sooo Not happy sadew leaved the band, also teh drummer :(, but anyway im curious how sophie will sing in Blood Stain Child! [teh drummer aswell]
I see lol yeh I get what you mean, since I know a few good metal bands who have really good instrumentals but the vocals and screams arent really good, I for one think that Dethlok's vocals are pretty good for a parody even though its meant to sound like a parody, it still is good xD
UBERDANGER
+Pagan Williams Of course !
1
oh and t3chn0ph0b1a are also good, btw if anyone knows any other good bands that do the same sort of music, just comment on here.
@babanebuna06 yep thats true lol
it's the lyrics that are parody, not the music and vocals
Hehe :P

maybe, DT have some great songs but also many very boring ones; they are not as consistent as CoB. But i agree that In Flames are a better band.
Sweden > Finland.
EX: In Flames, Opeth, Arch Enemy, Dark Tranquillity, etc.
Finland's still good. These guys aren't bad either.
enter shikari doesn't have anything to do with blood stain child
FINLAND>sweden
No band beats early CoB and Kalmah when it comes to melodic death.
I actually dont liek Idolator. Its just crappy - not enough melody, no good singing. But Mosaiq is pure awesomeness!
