    "He won't bite without permission" is simultaneously scary, comforting, and impressive

    • @OriginalUnjustifier
      @OriginalUnjustifier Місяць тому +688

      And is strangely more comforting than just 'He won't bite', since that's generally the case, until they do so the first time. Kid doesn't want to be that 'first' time because of a dog owner who is blind to their companions flaws.
      But being told the dog 'will' bite but only with permission implies both knowledge and control, which reassures the kid at least subconsciously that the guy actually knows what he's talking about.

    I'm so happy that that kid got to have that experience. He might still be afraid around dogs, but you've shown him that it's less about the dogs themselves and more about the people they have in their lives. You showed him that while some people might still be irresponsible pet owners, a responsible pet owner and skilled trainer can do wonderful and amazing things alongside their animals. It brightens my day to know that you and your pups were able to reassure him and show him something cool!!

      But they DEFINITELY had a signal to command this behavior. Whether its for the video and just acting, or because the guy could just tell how nervous the kid was, immediately (its at least somewhat believable imo. He's a Behaviouralist... That just naturally extends to human psychology in SO many ways) the doggos were perfectly trained for this exact scenario. And it's very impressive ❤
