When I Asked Questions In My Former Church They Never Had Answers And Told Me They Were Mysteries

- Listen as Paula testifies of the Book of Mormon's power in answering questions and helping us know of the love God has for us.
Paula and her husband were attending a Catholic church at the time that they met the missionaries. Paula knew this was no coincidental meeting because of their current situation. The Church they were currently attending couldn't answer the questions they had and they just felt genuinely unhappy.
When the missionaries introduced the Book of Mormon it finally made everything make sense. Paula knew that the people of Jerusalem couldn't have been the only ones who heard of Jesus Christ. 3 Nephi 11 made it all click and gave her so much comfort to know that Jesus Christ came to the Americas.

How does knowing Jesus Christ came to the Americas impact you?
Well, I live in America and just I think the things that he teaches the nephites, helps me have hope and light. Unlike any other being, Jesus Christ holds truth and light and I feel it in my heart.
It reminds me that God loves and cares for every one regardless of where they live and what culture they come from.
I believe 🙏
My conversion is almost identical to yours! I had so many questions in my teens and my pastor always told me I was too young to understand (at 18-19 years old)! Your husband told the missionaries that your neighbors weren’t home, my house burned down and through a number of winding miracles, that’s how I met the missionaries! I was baptized on Christmas Eve of 1986! I now have two reasons to celebrate on Dec. 24th, Jesus Christ birth the next day and my journey on the Covenant Path! Thank you so much for your message.
Wow, that is quite the experience! Thank you for sharing Garry!
This is such a cool conversion story!!
I felt the same way when I joined the church back in 1999. - Chad James.
Very similar to my conversion story when I was in high school many years ago. I didn't know much about the Holy Ghost but I learned how important he was to bare record of the truth, to warn, to teach to comfort. This is the Savior's gospel and how grateful I am to know this, and feel the Savior's peace at this time in a sometimes chaotic world.
Wonderful! The Holy Ghost is such a great blessing.
Wow, what a solid testimony. Speaking of the spirit, I no longer worry about the happenings in the world. I am not lured into this or that path to enlightenment. I do not seek fulfillment or salvation. I have found it. Now I go about my business with a reservoir of confidence at my back and in my heart and mind because God sent his spirit to know me and establish me in truth. He lives, the Missionaries are his laborers, and everything about the Church in its key points is all true.
That's a great way to view things! #HeedThemNot
This wonderful sister just shared one of the sweetest testimony I have ever heard . Can't wait to meet her beyond the Vail .
Thank you so much for watching!
She has a very quiet but powerful testimony, thank you for sharing your experience.
It's so comforting to hear about these experiences of others.
Christ’s visit to the America’s was my Testimony point as well; I love this Gospel.
That's awesome!
bible says jesus only returns twice. no evidence he came three times, to say he needed to come back is to say jesus didnt finish it all on the cross. mormonism is NOT christian
There is literal evidence of his return to the Americas. It's the record of The Book of Mormon.
@@CalledtoShare prove the book of mormon is true, there is literally no archaeological evidence for it, the bible says Jesus finished it all, Jesus returns twice. there is no evidence for the stories in the book of Mormon, no nephis, joseph translated with putting bis head in a hat! Book of mormon is based off of feelings and not facts as with mormonism
Have you read The Book of Mormon?
what a beautiful testimony shes shared with us beautiful i love our church my granddaughter has just turned 8 and is about to start lessons the joy this family brings us is inmesurable thank you Paula much lovefrom my granddaughter and myself in England
Thank you Jenny! What a wonderful comment.
A stable constance with our Lord. That's a beautiful way to describe a relationship. Thank you sister for sharing your testimony with me.
Yes! Thank you!
My testimony that this is Christ's church on the earth today has always kept me anchored. I am greatful and blessed!
Thank you for your comment Cheryl!
Your experience of finding the Church is nearly identical to mine! I had a great background in the Bible and I'm grateful because it prepared me for the TRUE church when I found it! Like you, I felt that there should be only one church, and it should be organized exactly as Christ's church was when he walked the earth over 2000 years ago! I didn't know if such a church existed but I began praying that I would find it. That involved getting married. My husband and I married then moved to Utah. He was in the Air Force and was being transferred to Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. How better to learn about the restored church than by living among its people?! But at that time I was still unaware that the LDS Chuch is what I was looking for.
At my first job, at Asterisk Advertising, my boss asked me what religion I was. I told him I was Protestant but that I was searching for a church just like the one Jesus had set up so long ago. My boss, who was a return missionary, began teaching me, and as I learned, I had the overwhelming feeling that I was coming home, and that I already knew all this, like I had been taught this at some point in my premortal life!!! My second job brought me in touch with a sister missionary and her husband who was studying to be a seminary teacher. This sister was my best friend, and one day, I overheard her talking to someone about teaching them lessons about the Church, so I begged her & her hubby to come to our house and give my husband & I the formal Book of Mormon lessons so he could learn, too. We were baptized shortly afterward in 1973 and a year later were sealed in the Ogden, Utah Temple. Then the temple matrons brought our 2 little ones in to us; our daughter was only 3 months old & or son wasn'tquite 2. They looked so adorable! I had made my dress for the occasion, and I made my daughter's little white dress exactly like mine! I also made my son's little white tie! That was the happiest day of my life, knowing that our family would be sealed together for time and all eternity!!! We knew that any more children would be born under the Covenant, and therefore automatically sealed to us. What joy!!! It simply doesn't get any better than this!!! One day I was thinking back over my life, and it hit me that the Lord had directed my path, EVERY STEP OF THE WAY!!! I am now 73 years and, like you, have never once regretted having joined the church. On the contrary, I honestly don't know where I'd be without it!!! Those are the exact words I have used many a time when sharing MY testimony! Funny, they're the same words YOU used, too! Just goes to show, it really is TRUE!!!🥰❤ (Brilliant minds think alike!😉😄) God bless you for sharing, dear sister! And may God bless any of you out there who may be searching! Do as our first Prophet of this last dispensation did! He read from James, chapter 1, verses 5 & 6 in the New Testament of the Bible: "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering." I pray that you might be gathered & numbered among the righteous and caught up to meet our Savior at His Second Coming! In Jesus precious name, Amen.
Thank you for your testimony
These missionaries and all missionaries will certainly be blessed 🥹. Bless this sweet Sister as well. One more street, one more house. You never know! But the Lord did and they followed the spirit that day. Wonderful story.
Yes indeed. As Dieter F. Uchtdorf said, "Fourth floor, last door."
Fantastic testimony. Those that seek for truth are only lost because they know not where to look.
Thanks for watching!
I was born in the covenant, never had to attend other churches (although i attended a catholic school in elementary and would sometimes visit my friends' churches for their weddings, baptisms, etc). I was always curious about what converted other people to the gospel, and I would always listen to their stories. I never left the church and am so happy my husband and kids are members too. I figured whether we are converts or born in a family of active church members, we still need to take care of and strengthen our testimonies. 😊
What a beautiful comment!
Thank you so very much to you, sister dear here, for sharing your great testimony and conversion story!!! You helped me feel some peace today!!!! I am a member of the church also, but not as long as you have been. But that doesn’t matter, right?! As the story in the Scriptures about people coming to work in the Vineyard!! Anyway, you sounded so peaceful and so sure in your conversion and testimony! Thank you so very much, Sister! With much love, sister Gay Michaelis oh, I joined the church up in Alaska! Because of some dedicated members who went out in the neighborhood to go knock on some doors, etc.!!
That testimony gave me chills. I could absolutely feel the Spirit❤️
Same here!
I had a moving experience reading the story of Jesus Christ in America when i was in my youth. It was as if i was there.
Beautiful!
I love your sweet Testimony! What a wonderful Conversion Story!
Yes it was!
I was baptized on April 28 1972, I was 21 years old so thankful for the missionaries that taught me the gospel, they would teach me a principle of the gospel and I could feel the spirit testify that its true, happened over and over while they were teaching me. I know my life would have been a lot different without the covenant gospel
Wonderful!
There are still mysteries, but there are definitely more answers.
Very well said!
Awesome conversion story. Thanks for sharing.
Our pleasure!
Love this 💛 Beautiful testimony.
Thanks for listening
Back in 1999 the missionaries answered all my questions and all made sense to me. I accepted the Book of Mormon by faith and never prayed about it. I got baptized on November 2, 1999. Water was ice cold due to the heater not working and they had to dunk me twice to make it worse. Then 2 weeks later i got confirmed. The bishop forgot about me that following Sunday. It was an slow start in the beginning. I am still apart of the Church after all these years. I am 64 now.
Yes, you are blessed!
:)
Thank you for sharing your pure testimony.
Thanks for listening
Thank you for your story and your testimony.
Thanks for listening
So simple but yet so profound, that feeling that the Holy Ghost gives, when you can just feel the pure truth he brings from are Heavenly Father.
Yes!
Love your pure heart testimony, of the Lord's Church
I love this! 🙏🏼🥺
Minister to the one!
Amen
Wow interesting! God is great he will lead you to restored gospel thru him. 🙏🙏
He will manifest Himself to those of humble heart, exactly!
Thank you for sharing tistimonie
God bless us
I'm pentecostal. My church has answered my questions best as possible. I've prophesied before and been always accurate. I feel Holy Spirit strong every Sunday. If it were not for my church I'd probably be dead by now
Are there any questions you don't have answers to?
@@CalledtoShare I'm concerned about the lds prophets. The Bible says God doesn't allow anything to happen unless he reveals it to His servants the prophets. Not one prophet predicted wwI or ww II or the holocaust or 911. If they were prophets why didn't God reveal these things?
@@CalledtoShare I hope my question was not disrespectful. It's something I've never understood
As a child I had many questions for our lovely Irish minister and his sweet wife that completely baffled them. I was once dismissed from a religious class at school as a teen, because the minister (from the church we attended every Sunday) couldn’t answer the questions that I really wanted answers for.
The missionaries visited our home and my mother very reluctantly allowed them to begin teaching us. I didn’t get involved, but as they taught, my questions were answered. I didn’t need any further convincing that the truth was being taught.
What a beautiful example of the impact of gospel truth. Thank you!

I like to learn more of Liberty and Independence Missouri, respectively, in the lord's time and guidance
Where the bible leaves off, the book of Mormon answers it for us.
Moses 1:38, answer found in 39.
1.) Joseph Smith was the first prophet of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ and many others came to him to direct him on how to restore the church.
2) Spirit babies isn’t the correct term at all. We believe that we were spiritual beings who existed before we were born on earth.
Acts 17:28-29
For in him we live and move and have our being.’[a](A) As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’
“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone-an image made by human design and skill.
We believe that everyone who came to earth chose to follow Christ’s plan.
3) We do believe that Adam and Eve dwelt on the American continent. Though we aren’t sure exactly where the Garden of Eden was.
4) That is sacred temple clothing. We use it to make covenants with God in our temples. It’s similar to many other religions where specific clothing is used for sacred ceremonies and rituals.
5) Those ancient writings were written by ancient prophets from the Americas. Much like we have evidence of Christ ministering to His people in the Middle East (through Bible writings) we believe that after His death and resurrection, Christ came to people in the America’s to give them the truth. Some of the people who witnessed His return wrote about their experiences in the plates. These plates were translated by Joseph Smith into The Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon and The Bible are regarded as equal and vital parts to our beliefs.
6) John the Baptist appeared to Smith to give him the keys to the Priesthood, so he could have the authority to baptize people and lead the church.
Amose 3:7
The bible actually talks of celestial telestial and terrestrial kingdoms and outer darkness. Also baptism for the desd- google this- also temples also patriarchs also christs church being led by prophets apostles and bishops also tithing fasting prayer. Also chastity, and alot more. Also they dont say mormon prophets. It is simply 'prophets'. I'm not saying anymore alsos this is misinformation based on biased selective information, either way bottom line is get our lives right with the Saviour.
I still have a hard time with LDS doctrine.
It just doesn’t line up with scripture no matter how hard I try.
Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints don't adhere to sola scriptura. Meaning, something doesn't have to be in the Bible to make it true. This is a hard fact for many to accept, but "We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God."
Hi, G.E. I’m a member and i’m also having a hard time. But it’s in the Lord’s will and timing. If you get to feel something, that’s the Spirit… Don’t let it slip away 🙏
@@CalledtoShare , people I don't think understand, we're not to know all things. What we don't learn here. We will learn there.
Think about it. If we knew all about scripture, and teachings of the doctrine? We might as, well throw HEB 11:1 out with baby water.
I personally, don't want to know about all the doctrines, some for most? Hard to exept.
Ephesians 2:6-7:
Education comes from God - 2 Timothy 2:15, not Satan.
Christ visited America, NOT the America's. The events in the Book of Mormon happened in ancient America not Mesoamerica!
That doesn't mean that he didn't visit Mesoamerica.
@@Terminatorguy34 Christ was sent to the lost sheep of the House of Israel. 3 Nephi 16:1-3 states,
"1 And verily, verily, I say unto you that I have other sheep, which are not of this land, neither of the land of Jerusalem, neither in any parts of that land round about whither I have been to minister.
2 For they of whom I speak are they who have not as yet heard my voice; neither have I at any time manifested myself unto them.
3 But I have received a commandment of the Father that I shall go unto them, and that they shall hear my voice, and shall be numbered among my sheep, that there may be one fold and one shepherd; therefore I go to show myself unto them."
Christ mentions 3 times the land where he is standing as "this land." He probably visited other dispersed Israelites and probably other planets. However, if he did visit Mesoamerica, we do NOT have such an account in the Book of Mormon.
In 2012, Elder L. Tom Perry said, "The United States is the promised land foretold in the Book of Mormon-a place where divine guidance directed inspired men to create the conditions necessary for the Restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was the birth of the United States of America that ushered out the Great Apostasy, when the earth was darkened by the absence of prophets and revealed light. It was no coincidence that the lovely morning of the First Vision occurred just a few decades after the establishment of the United States." www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/2012/12/the-tradition-of-light-and-testimony?lang=eng
In Joseph Smith's 1842 Wentworth Letter, Joseph stated, "In this important and interesting book the history of ancient America is unfolded, from its first settlement by a colony that came from the Tower of Babel at the confusion of languages to the beginning of the fifth century of the Christian era. We are informed by these records that America in ancient times has been inhabited by two distinct races of people. The first were called Jaredites and came directly from the Tower of Babel. The second race came directly from the city of Jerusalem about six hundred years before Christ. They were principally Israelites of the descendants of Joseph. The Jaredites were destroyed about the time that the Israelites came from Jerusalem, who succeeded them in the inheritance of the country. The principal nation of the second race fell in battle towards the close of the fourth century. The remnant are the Indians that now inhabit this country."
Sadly, this part of the Wentworth Letter was deleted from the manual "Teachings of Presidents of the Church--Joseph Smith" which was the course of study in Relief Society and EQ and HP Quorums about 2008. Why did CES and the scholars censor these 150 words that clearly indicate that the United States is the land of promise? Because scholars have been hijacking church history for many years and pushing a false narrative about Book of Mormon geography.
Here is one additional piece of amazing evidence from the diary of Elizabeth Baum which is located in the Church History Library.
“One day in about 1844, the pigs were feeding in the wood and rooted up and evidently ancient mound, unearthing some bones, which father discovered was a human skeleton of immense proportions. Among the bones was a huge skull. He drove the pigs out of that field, and brought the skull to the house to show the family. He held it up over his own face. It was so large it frightened mother and us children terribly.
He took it and went back and in excavating further he found 12 giant bodies buried in the form of a wheel with heads to the center forming a hub. They were between 7 and 8 ft tall. While he was thus engaged, the prophet Joseph Smith stopped by on horseback. Inquiring what Father was about, he soon discovered the size of the skeletons and remarked, “Jacob those were Jaredites. Cover them up and let them rest--fence them in so nothing can disturb them further.” Father did this, sacredly performing the request and protected them from further harm.”

The Book of Mormon is true! It testifies of Jesus Christ and it happened in ancient America, NOT Mesoamerica!
