Train to Patalpani

- In 1870, the Maharaja of Indore, Sawai Tukojirao Holkar the 2nd, comissioned the building of a line from Indore to the Great Indian Peninsular Railway Main line at Khandwa . The line would climb the Vindhyachal mountains by way of the Choral valley, to reach Indore.
The section between Patalpani and Kalakund runs along the Choral river and with it’s numerous bridges, viaducts and tunnels , forms a fascinating backdrop in which to view the operations of this one hundred and fifty years old railway line.

This is the BEST Rail related documentary i have ever seen. Wow. Take a bow
I also live in mhow.. i have also visited patalpani and kalakund many time.. but seriously how don't know about these places your videos are really worth.. hats off to yoy bro..😊😊
This documentary is full alive and very artistic. It also shows the usual daily life of the railroad crew of the track, hitching it up to the mechanic. The shots are remarkable, diving or very close, comments and maps also. What beautiful colors; The red-brown cars of Jessop contrast with the richness of the green landscape. Each angle of view is an artistic painting. For me who lives thousands of miles you give me 36 minutes of happiness. Thank you again for your great talent.
I TRAVELED THIS ROUTE ..IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE ROUTE ....
5:02 - Love the blending!
Though it is about 4 year old video. I happened to watch it today. This the best video documentary I have ever seen so far on Patalpani - Kalakund section. You narration is also very good. The documentary is very informative and is a detailed one. I am a MG fan and MG videos always fascinate me. Enjoyed your video very much. Thank you.
bas kya kahun sir, MP se hone ke naate mujhe pata hai in sab jagahon ka mehetva aur khubsurati Bachpan se hi Maa Rewa ki Pooja dekhte aa rha hun, its so touching to see those things combined with the beauty of MG, bahut shaanti mili isko dekhke sir Thank You Once Again for this Beautiful Exploration !!!!
Never been to Central India....this vid just opened my eyes to a new world....extraordinary documentary...the steam engines drove me back into my childhood days...simply awesome.
This is welcoming, finally Drone/QuadCopter Cam footage from IR. This is extra special as it is MG and MHOW. Priceless, tears of joy, and kudos for taking the time. Enjoyed to the max!

Hi Vikas being a photographer and trains lover ..the only words I can say .. splendid photography...excellent work and use of drones ... I am your neighbor across the border and share the same British lines and trains system... truly a work of art ..shows your skills and love .. with over cast and diffused light some shots are simply romantic ...... and I can spend whole day sitting on some spots.
That was a stupendous piece of work....the photography, the narration was simply superb. Without doubt, the best 'Railfanning' effort that I have laid my eyes on. Happened to spend an year at Mhow (2013) but alas! Never knew such a marvel existed so close!! My loss truly. Thanks for all the effort to let us see this through your lens!!

Again a wonderful video from Mr.Vikas Chander, one to remember and watch for ever. Thank you very much.
That long musical sequence near the end is beautiful. So well done. THANK YOU!
+Ben Sullivan - The song used in that sequence is "Ma rewa" by Indian Ocean. It is an ode to the river narmada, over which that bridge is constructed....
Gorgeous film. Thank you.
28:00 ke baad ka part to sahi me Dil ko chhu gaya, folk song by indian ocean + camera work 👌👌👌

Wow! This is a great video with spectacular drone videography. A video to treasure. The narration as good as any professional documentary. How did I miss it so long being a rail fan? And where did you get steam train footage? I am surprised such an advanced level of drone videography was done 4 years back. The video has been made with lot of detailed work requiring trudging along the route.
Now that I have seen this stunning video, where are you Vikas since no updates on your channel since this video was published 4 years back?
Really wondering at your dedicated painstaking and amazing photography even though you used drones for shooting I am mesmerised at tha angles and visual treats.certainly it is to be preserved in our archives for future generations to know about our railways. Onceagain I appreciate and expecting more from your eyes rather cameras👏👏👏

Hey Vikas, Many thanks for this video which I came across today while searching for few videos related to railway. As I grown up seeing/traveling on this railway track, your video was really mesmerizing those old days, but I’ve a complaint with you that during the whole video I was eagerly awaiting the turn to hear my home town Barwah’s mention in it , but unfortunately you’ve ignored it completely. It might be an icing on the cake for an enthusiast person like me (who feel proud when ever read/heard about his own home town in news/articles), but you made me felt sad :(. Hope you get it.
Anyways it was an indeed a great experience watching your video. Kudosss man.
excellent camera work .great vedio like short movie.. really appreciate ur work . u r do such an excellent work . best wishes for u. thank you to see such a good vedio.

Woww.... Superb Documentary Sir...
wish you make another Documentary on Konkan Railways like That. 😊
Strange , that India , as a railway Nation , does not have a model railway community in large. I say and mean in large , as it is one of 2 nations with over a Billion inhabitants.Perhaps producers of model railways would concider that one day...Thanks to Mr. Chander for filming and showing this to us.
Splendid
thanks
