The Kangra-Valley Railway (Documentary in HD) | Toy Trains - Part II

  • The Himalayas in the background, terraced fields and streams; the Kangra Valley landscape has everything of fairy tales.
And it is in the middle of this wonderful valley that passes the Kangra train, making a journey of 164 kms from Pathankot to Joginder. The train passes over 971 bridges and under only 2 tunnels.
The Kalka-Shimla Railway, the Kangra-Valley Railway and the Matheran-Hill Railway form a network of narrow gauge railways in India that are lovingly called „toy trains“. These trains travel on narrow gauges over hundreds of breathtaking bridges in curves and tunnels that slowly meander through the captivating Himalayan countryside.
With beautiful and powerful high-definition imagery (1080p), renowned ARD filmmaker Peter Weinert takes railway fans and enthusiasts of exciting travel documentaries on a journey into an extraordinary world.

I'm an American and I love to watch the toy train shows. The people of India have such a pleasant attitude, are very hard workers driven by the love of their work, not money. It's so refreshing to see because many Americans hate their work and are motivated only by money. It shows in their poor performance. I really enjoy the historical trains and when they show the workshops along their routes. So many people learn their talents from previous generations, have great intelligence, work very hard, are so kind and enjoy their craft, it's so wonderful to see. I love the Indian people.

While narrating about this stunning journey in Kangra valley by Train the Narrator ( who happenwd to be a Brit , I presume ) uttered the glorious act of British to build the rail way. He should remember that the Brits built that railway at that time to transport Military men To control northwest frontier provinces.Remarkable self glorification as usual.

Beautiful. I am reminded of my travel in this train when I was a child. Our inefficient Governments have failed to modernise this route and trains . Kangra valley trains would have become major tourist attraction had we taken the necessary steps to bring back it's old glory. We should learn from foreign countries about cleanliness and up keep of heritage like kangra valley narrow gauge trains.
