Damn, all that work to the Supra, that must have been an expensive restoration build from beginning to end. 🤑

Nice work! By the way where did you get a new back glass? I thought they were discontinued.

Thank you... so they're discontinued now? Mine came direct from a local Toyota dealer back in September 2018. At the time, they said it was the last one in the USA, deep within a random warehouse out of state. Could've been the last one overall, if they had no more left in Japan. Come to think of it, many of the parts available around that time are now discontinued - fuel tank skids/protectors, 6-speed shift tunnel panels, both quarter windows, windshield wiper arms... makes me think that these types of new-OEM parts style restorations are going to be impossible in the near future.

@@cobblewagen Ahh that makes sense. They still actually have them in Japan but it's really expensive to bring over as you can imagine.
And yeah, a lot of things have been discontinued. That's why I have been slowly buying trim, glass etc that I might need later on when I repaint my car. I do regret not getting a back glass earlier on when they still sold them in North America. My hatch also has the rust coming through and I'm tempted to get a carbon hatch but I'm just afraid of breaking my current back glass when removing it.
Restorations will be damn hard in the future for sure that's why I keep whatever old parts I remove from the car in case I want to restore them later on to use/sell.

@@cobblewagen I've got a feeling that if someone set up a company like scott drake (they make oem quality replica parts for classic cars, particularly mustangs) with manufacturing facilities in mexico for mkiv supras they'd do fairly well.
