the most underrated show with an epic storyline that deserves a big budget reboot.
And for that, the Networks have declared it must die.
One of the best cartoons from the 90s. I wanted to see those aliens at the end of the second season.

THE most unknown and amazing early 90s cartoon! Crazy ass story for kids about slavery and civil war.
This shows story, writing, and voice acting are legendary for its time. The speach by Marsala in the last episode about what it means to be human and how the neosapians could make a future was next level.
the best! I could watch it today and still be satisfied. kickstarter for season 3 is needed for these childhood wounds.
No kickstart retelling it from season 1. We really don't need a Season 3.
@@Arthirias I would love a season 3, especially seeing how it was foreshadowed all through season 2 that the entire sapien race would have to bind together to fight the aliens. But yes a retelling from the start would be awesome, maybe even showing more of the first neo war.
This was my show! I'd get up at 5am before school to watch this show. I was sad that there was nothing after the alien em pulse. I loved this and Starship Troopers show.

After Robotech, EXOSQUAD was a good atempt at American mech SERIES Dam who knew the DREADED GOBOTS spawned this masterpiece.
Jervis Horton Robotech was actually Japanese. Harmony Gold wanted to bring Super Dimention Fortress Macross to the U.S. but it didn't have enough episodes for syndication at the time. They took 2 other anime and merged them with Macross via clever editing and story rewrites to gain enough episodes. The original Macross story remained mostly unchanged. The second show, Southern Cross, remained mostly unchanged except for a few location and character name changes for continuity reasons. The third show, Mospeada, saw heavy rewrites that many people say made the story better.
Overall Robotech is an epic show and one of my favorites, but it isn't totally American. It has however been Americanized better than any other show I can think of.
Also, did you know that there were 2 Robotech movies that were animes whose stories were changed by Harmony Gold to fit into the Robotech timeline?
Harmony Gold also produced 2 other Robotech movies more recently, that were completely original and not a pre-existing anime. They were able to get the original English voice cast to reprise their roles 20+ years after Robotech first aired.
Exo Squad was Epically Fantastic! I'm praying one day that the 3rd season will be produced or get a reboot!
With a lot of discontinued cartoons and series getting a comic follow up it would be great if a comic publisher decided to pick up the license and at least make a mini series.
Perhaps they could even get in touch with some of the original writers to provide information for what was planned for Season 3.
What a dark premise...a race of beings created as slaves for us that later rebelled. So basically, they're the good guys.
Their cause was just, but at the time of the war they had been freed, and while they're not strictly bad guys, their leader was a straight up genocidal maniac. Exosquad was fucking complex for a kid's show
@@christophermarkham2771 I remember watching this, but I never followed the story since I was a kid and only cared about the action. This would have been great in my teens.

dear goodness i loved exosquad! the episode when the main bad guy talks about the one moment of happiness in his life was one of the most profound things my young self had ever viewed

No mention of robotech and exosquad supposedly working on a merger so exosquad not only fit in the robotech universe, but joined it
This was the first American cartoon I noticed people actually died (even if it was off screen) Unlike say GI Joe where every human parachutes out and only robots get destroyed.
I loved this show in my early twenties it would me so awesome if it came back.

the art style and mech designs kinda turned me off at the beginning, but I'm glad I gave it a chance. One of the best story you'll find in a children cartoons.
the shows concept was to sell robotech toys that weren’t selling… all your information is based on harmony gold not having won the lawsuit, which they did.

God this was a great story
damn I loved this show, watched it in the 2010s, I'm a huge Gundam fan and this show kinda fized the irks I would get from seeing overly huge Robots get shot down like nothing.
Damn I didn't know about the Season three of Sightings.

It would be awesome if Netflix made an anime reboot and continued on with the story after the alien invasion, they've done a good job with the Gozilla series of movies and Castlevania. It seems like quite a bit of the world building part of story was used in The Expanse also, especially with the alien artifact. It's a shame it was canceled, just like Dark Matter the first few seasons were the build up to the main story where the entire sapien race would have to unite to fight the aliens. If anything I hope someone gets the IP so they can at least continue the story in comic or graphic novel form. In fact in my posts I'm just going to put #rebootexosquad to spread the word!

That's an outstanding point. I was listening to a piece on a toy channel and the guy was giving a pretty good run down of the overall story for ExoSquad, and I remember thinking to myself, there are a lot of parallels with The Expanse here lol.

I remember trying to get into it because of the Mechwarrior games, but I couldn't get past the art design, which is funny, because I loved the toys. I stuck with Gundam. I did try to watch it on Hulu, but it didn't get better with age.

Christopher Valencia some of the toy mechs were striaght from ROBOTECH. the 4 gun mech and the 2 arm pod rocket mech. i belive its called the Destroid.
I have 2 toys in tact with all of their stickers and accessories, sitting on a shelf. My parents bought them for me when the show was still airing. I put them on a shelf in my room. As an adult I found them and put them on a high shelf in my current room along with other treasured things from my childhood.

Either a movie or tv animated show. With cartoons being made in CGI. It would be perfect. Reboot, Reboot, Reboot! Lol
@Joshua Ngau Ajang people have to adapt. I was trained to be a hands on illustrator. But adapted the computer to my hands on skill. Change is necessary for moment. Teaching my kids to honor the past and be prepared for the future.

it was a good series, you can watch it now it's suprisingly well writen and besides the hokie art of the time still enjoyable as an adult
