So I think I counted right. Ana was 13/40 on sleep darts that actually slept a target in almost a 20 minute game basically 2 sleep darts fired a minute average. I imagine without the countdown timer and deaths, this Ana is averaging almost 3 per minute when alive/not in spawn this game. Which is truly impressive. But I like that they are willing to learn and want advice. I hope they climb.
Hi pal, thanks for the entertaining game!! Just a heads up, when Orisa is fortified/gold, don’t try to sleep her. She is not susceptible to any CC while she uses that ability, including during her ult. Good luck climbing, Emongg gave you some great tips here!!
Hiya! A tip from another Ana player who climbed out of Bronze: Wait 1-2 seconds when the enemy starts shooting at you before you commit to sleep dart. You'll be surprised how much more effective it is. A lot of the time they'll assume you don't have it and just run straight at you and you don't even have to aim it
one of the things that helped me so much when attacking, was someone (i think ml7?) saying that once you get to last point on ana (or a few characters), you've done your job so just sit back and heal/damage from a nice distance. something about that mentality made me check myself from going in close to the last point (unless you have to touch/stall obv). so yeah, anytime i'm ana/zen, and maybe even kiriko and bap, i just pick a nice distance, sit back, and work from there.
i havent watched the full video yet so it's possible emongg talks about this. the player's aim when scoped in is a bit wonky at times, so i think they should go into Ana settings and play around with the scoped in sensitivity. it might be helpful because the default settings don't always work for everyone (and sometimes, the default settings aren't good if you are trying to improve!) re: cooldowns and positioning, yes it is fun to press your buttons. i love pressing buttons. it is hard to unlearn that habit. but i think it can be really helpful to have a PLAN when you're playing a certain hero. it doesn't have to be super specific, it can just be stuff like "i am only going to use nade to heal people who are critical" and "i need to find high ground and cover, no matter what" and find good spots on the maps that fit that criteria. it makes the game SO MUCH EASIER when you don't feel so overwhelmed and you can focus on putting your plan into action. once you start climbing (particularly when you get to gold), your plans will need to be more flexible as you learn to juggle multiple priorities, but right now, having a single set of positioning goals or a positioning plan can be really good! ana player, i hate to inform you that a lot of the time, you will be pushing the payload. this kinda contradicts my previous advice, but here's why: you can still do your job at range. when you play with a mercy, mercy is shorter range than you and needs to push up with the team to contribute value. in these cases, use the cart as cover! it will also heal you a bit if its uncontested, so that's nice too an important fact for all support players: when you don't have cover and are taking unnecessary damage, you are feeding enemy ults. feeding for us supports isn't like tanks or dps when they send it into the backline and die while spamming i need healing lol even though we typically are the last to die, we can absolutely still feed, so positioning is very important so we can make sure our team has ults first and gets ults faster than the enemy another reason positioning is so important: you cannot trust your teammates to save you. your positioning can and will save you from a significant number of threats. this is important because then you can focus on winning the fight instead of an Orisa walking directly up to you. in fact, i would say, DO NOT TRUST YOUR TEAM TO SAVE YOU lol. there will be times your team helps you! but you can't expect or rely on it. just focus on keeping yourself alive through positioning and saving your cooldowns for self defense (in some scenarios) something you do very well is keeping an eye on your other support 💖 that's an insanely good habit to have and staying further back will let you do that more successfully! feel free to go into the practice range to get a sense of how the nade works and its trajectory! i go into the practice range all the time to practice stuff. it can really really help so you can feel more confident in game.
@@Norfyo honestly the most important piece of advice I would give to someone who wants to climb is, look after yourself before you look after others. which is also just good life advice 😅 as much as we hope our teams are keeping an eye on us, most of the time they're not. partly because they have their own jobs to do but also because they're just as pepega as we are lol so! play to live, don't expect any help from your team. not expecting it makes the times when they DO help super surprising and nice lmao you've got potential, it's just a matter of investing the time now. but most importantly, there's no obligation. it's a fucking video game, so what matters is enjoying what you're doing. you don't have to play comp on days you don't want to. you don't have to devote your life to this. just have fun! and support is the most fun role imo so you've made a good choice hehe
Improving can mean ranking up and usually does. But the thing is pretty much everyone who plays will improve atleast slightly. So if u improve at same pace as other bronze 5-4 players u will stay same rank. In order to climb you need to improve faster than other, and emongg gave very good tips on things to improve. Aim is kinda bad, but tbh if the ana fixes position and cooldowns he could be ~gold probably quite fast.
@@Norfyo aim will come with time, but dont worry most golds dont have good aim either, and if their aim is good, their position etc is horrible. Good aim+good position+decent cd useage lands like dia-master. There is 0 good aimer with half a brain below masters. Some times i find godlike aimers in plat-dia but they have severe brain dmg or something.
@Norfyo my advice with that is to quite literally take it slower. This may sound stupid but it actually works. Aim to hit your shot, check it lines up and click. Do that over and over in quickplay (it's very slow at first to do hence i recommend quickplay) and your Aim will improve. Why? Because you are certain your mouse movement and eye coordination is correct. Also because you hit more shots you have bullets leftover you can shoot into a enemy or reload less often. It also builds confidence. Due to your ability to eventually not having to even remotely line up a shot you have brainpower left over and the time to think about good positioning.
The Bastion 1v1 is why you actually want to just get up in enemies' faces in Bronze when 1v1ing. Nobody can track high transversal down here so minimizing the distance means that you cross their screen as fast as possible. It's stupid, but it works a fair bit against non-melee/aoe characters. Edit: The key to climbing fast is to know when you can and can't do this and to play accordingly. Feel free to abuse it in Bronze (if you do this, chances are the enemy team will help you by mirroring the behavior or running away in a predictable manner) if the enemy team is susceptible to it, but as the ranks go up, stop relying on it as enemies start punishing that sort of nonsense.
@@Siks7Ate9 It doesn't always work; certain heroes will mulch you if you try that, and there's still the 'getting close' part you have to deal with, but it explains why you see some low-rank 1v1s being two heroes jumping and running in circles at point blank missing everything that isn't an AoE or melee, and why you see some low rank players succeed at LITERALLY PUNCHING THINGS TO DEATH. Great mindset from the intro, lol. Hopefully with that, plus some good ole emongg tips (and honestly maybe a few settings changes) hopefully they climb.
That ana was literally lifted by her tank, play a more relaxed ana is my best advice. No need to get that close, now higher level players like ML7 would play in an aggressive position that's just out of the enemies effective range so they would waste cooldowns trying to reach him. Baiting the enemy like that is more effective especially since less travel times means easier sleep/nades but you're not baiting the enemy playing in the open. You're merely not confident in your skills at hitting the sleep/nade so feel the need to get closer. I'd say play ana like you would ashe not as close as cassidy and not as far as pre-nerf widow
On certain maps, you can play Ana as you would pre-nerf Widow, and if the enemy team tries to play Widow or Ashe into you, you can just shut them down entirely. But that's very specific maps like Havana and Junkertown.
listen, i understand not hitting sleeps consistently or panic sleep darting but you should be landing most of your nades (healing or anti). A tip to start getting easy value out of your nades: throw your nade into the middle of team fights and it will usually heal AND anti (think rein 1v1s). Dont try to anti a target that’s separated from the team fight because it could work but it’s easier to miss/waste the cooldown and less likely for your team to take advantage of that anti because they’re engaged in a fight elsewhere.
tbh i have a tendency to get very aggressive on ana sometimes too 😭 it just works sometimes. other times not so much LMFAO. i play kiriko wayy more and kiriko benefits more from the aggression i think.
what I feel like most people may not understand is that aggression will look differently on each hero. an aggressive Mercy play is different than an aggressive Kiriko play, which is also different from an aggressive Ana play. every hero can and should be aggressive! we just need to appreciate the different styles of aggression so we can channel our aggression no matter which hero we play lol
It feels like they don't have enough space to move their mouse. Or they are playing from a bad position, I improved my aim drastically when I fixed my posture and increased the height of my chair, it helps immensely. Also get at least a medium-sized mousepad.
Half the time they use the sleep dart, they aren't even hovering over an enemy The heelingrenade is to increase team healing and stop enemy healing, but they use it like it's a frag most of the time for a bit of burst damage or healing(which is fine sometimes) They have decent stretches where they are in a good position and then FOR NO REASON move in closer with a sniper character. Most of the time it isn't optimal sniper positioning like approaching the tank head on For most ana's like this I recommend playing bap, more survivability, easier to heal, easier abilities and easier to get elims if your accuracy isn't amazing
I'm about 7 min in and I think this Ana has a too high eDPI/sens, that they've just gotten used to? Like there's lots of micro corrections when aiming in the general direction of a target before being able to even click, and then by the time you've lined it up they're gone. The "flicking" after nades could be due to the higher sens, where the force of the click judders the mouse a bit? idk I'm not a mouse expert but it's just a vibe I'm getting. Could be totally wrong tho
Definitely is a bronze support, but they have potential. Just based on the fact that they are really active during the whole match. A lot of bronze bastards just sit in one spot and heal until they get gunned down.
I think that it is a common problem when it comes to climbing rank. People tend not to outgrow their bad habits because, to them, it seems to be working. Running into the enemy as Ana and almost never getting punished is crazy to me lolz. But in actuality, the dude would get punished right back down to bronze playing like that. Flankers are already after you, but God forbid the enemy sees you right in their face. The tank dps and MERCY are going for you. But I see bad choices aren't punished in bronze. Because a lot of other people are also making bad choices.
New to the game/this channel. Does he review games from console players? I know my aim needs work, but I’d like an opinion on my “positioning” and cool down usage. Great video. I’m not even an Ana main but I learned a lot.
Every tank should play each support once, so they know the limits of that support and you can play around them. I'm terrible at this game but even I know not to flame the support when I'm 5 feet from their spawn and the team is capping point one. Thats on me😂
This was definitely a match of Overwatch. They need to turn their sensitivity down, and work on their aim, positioning, and cooldown usage. There was no inconsistency in the way this person played like so many of us, this player was consistently bad with their aim and ability usage.
I like that shes not afraid to use her cooldowns and she just throws them out whenever she has them which can definitely be better than holding them forever. Slightly better positioning and aim and she'll be ranking up in no time
half bronze games feel like open queue gold, gold + players are stuck in bronze and accidentally gatye keeping eachother its hilarious all it takes is falling down ONCE one bad placements
I’m pretty sure this Ana has moved from console to pc. Or they just started playing fps. But I like how they say they THINK they have gotten better. Not that they DESERVE a higher rank
I'm bronze 1. This guy is about as good as me on a bad day and definitely deserves a rank up. But I think they just need to watch the karq video where the rank 1 ana coached him then all good.
The thing I don’t understand about people is when they say “I BELONG IN THIS RANK.” If you truly belong in that rank then you would’ve been able to carry yourself to that rank. And Im saying this because I was a gold player the first time I have ever played overwatch, now I am high diamond by solo queuing. My boyfriend always claims that he should be in plat (he’s in gold) and when I play with him I could see mistakes he is making that can easily be improved to make him get into plat, but he just doesn’t believe me so it is what it is lol.
surely if u are bronze or new u would play a less aim intensive support until ur more comfortable like what? bro would probably do more healing on zen like...
You can prove you’re unfairly trapped in Bronze Hell by setting up another account. I guarantee you’ll place at least Gold across the board. But the Blizzard will never let you get your old account out of Bronze.
Definitely deserves bronze but I can see her tweaking the positioning slightly and getting to silver. Don't get me wrong , game mechanics needs improving, so does battle sense in general
I don't play much ana, not my favorite play style of support. But I had this one game where I had 100% sleep dart accuracy and slept 15 people. And only about half of those sleeps were barrel stuffs, so I felt really good about taking that win. Buy God do I feel those miss miss miss miss miss miss when ads as ana. Like.. I'm either hitting everything, or I'll miss the entire next clip of ammo, feels like no in-between.
I don't understand their nade usage at all. For me that thing is an oh shit button for myself if I get backlined or for a team mate in need. I only play MH but watching this makes me want to do placements and see where I land. I feel like this player is deserved bronze.
If you are only using nade to heal, you're doing it wrong. Nade should be used offensively as much as possible. If you have to nade yourself often, you're taking too much damage and likely out of position. The support passive means Ana rarely needs to use it for herself, and USUALLY you don't need to use it to heal others, either. Antiheal is just so incredibly strong. Just watch out for anything that can cancel it.
The using abilities just because they are off CD hurts my sole. I aleays view abilities as added value. What value is truthly being added o If you are not hitting anything 80% of the time.
The positions you are telling them to have are the positions I want to have but when I tell my brother and boyfriend I can't see you and I ping my location they are telling me why I stay in one spot for so long and why I don't move with the team, and how I should be hip firing more often instead of scope firing. So I started doing that. I died way more often. It's just annoying they think they're right when they are not. I am a sniper. I am supposed to be here. I ping my location so you know where I am at. If you get out of my LOS, that is on you.
Hey Emongg, love the content and I enjoy seeing your videos every day during my meal time. Anyways, I have something interesting to talk about for CD usage. Now, obviously when you're bronze or a low metal rank, you need to improve game sense and positioning most of the time. So, when you mention the Ana using CDs just because they can, I can see why you bring that up as an area of improvement. However, have you seen Awkward's videos regarding CD usage (here is a video for reference: ua-cam.com/video/zTacLr_iAgQ/v-deo.html). Obviously, he is a top 100 player, an Overwatch coach, and a great Ana player. The thing is, he teaches Ana's to be more aggressive with their CD usage and their positioning. I think he even coached a silver player with the same playstyle and he was able to get to Plat. One of the biggest talking points that you made is VALUE. How can we get value on our cooldowns? Sleeping cars and walls obviously gets zero value, but what's your take on Awkward's aggressive Ana gameplay vs what this bronze player is doing? Just a talking point, not criticizing here.

what I feel like most people may not understand is that aggression will look differently on each hero. an aggressive Mercy play is different than an aggressive Kiriko play, which is also different from an aggressive Ana play. every hero can and should be aggressive! we just need to appreciate the different styles of aggression so we can channel our aggression no matter which hero we play lol
I feel like this player is someone I would be friends with.
Let's play some MH together
@@Norfyo Hi :D ! What's mh? Monster Hunter?
Edit: Oohh probably Mystery Heroes, my favorite!!
That Ana fisting Bastion was epic.
These videos make me realize that I am better than I think I am
It feels like they don't have enough space to move their mouse. Or they are playing from a bad position, I improved my aim drastically when I fixed my posture and increased the height of my chair, it helps immensely. Also get at least a medium-sized mousepad.
The Sig9 to end it all is quite poetic.
that enemy team was deff tilted bc aint no way they didnt see the ana flank
Half the time they use the sleep dart, they aren't even hovering over an enemy
The heelingrenade is to increase team healing and stop enemy healing, but they use it like it's a frag most of the time for a bit of burst damage or healing(which is fine sometimes)
They have decent stretches where they are in a good position and then FOR NO REASON move in closer with a sniper character. Most of the time it isn't optimal sniper positioning like approaching the tank head on
For most ana's like this I recommend playing bap, more survivability, easier to heal, easier abilities and easier to get elims if your accuracy isn't amazing
Italian ana HUH. At 1:46 ana tried throwing the nade at the winston on high ground lol
Ciao 👋
@@NorfyoWeeeee bella
Absolute favourite over watch streamer so wholesome and funny!
I kinda wish there was a counter of how many shots the walls took at the end of each game
This was a historical monument. Truly.
I think you would benefit more from playing Moira. Ur aggressiveness and positioning works better with her kit then with anas😊
Someone tell him he can't sleep orisa when she's shiny lmao
After watching this video I will now only play Rein in Hollywood and say in comms "I'm gonna swing by the office"
T_Rev going hard on this one!
That Orisa absolutely being a beast, lol
This reminds me that i need to stop peeling for teammates that are way out of position. I die so often from that i need to just stop lmao
That was the most Overwatch that's ever Overwatched
Definitely is a bronze support, but they have potential. Just based on the fact that they are really active during the whole match. A lot of bronze bastards just sit in one spot and heal until they get gunned down.
9:12 HOLY SHIT HE HIT A SLEEP
These sleeps were something to behold.
Is this on controller?
we need more mystery heros tusedays :D
9:01 I almost choked on my food when he said that
How do I submit a vod bc I would like some advice
I think that it is a common problem when it comes to climbing rank. People tend not to outgrow their bad habits because, to them, it seems to be working. Running into the enemy as Ana and almost never getting punished is crazy to me lolz.
But in actuality, the dude would get punished right back down to bronze playing like that. Flankers are already after you, but God forbid the enemy sees you right in their face. The tank dps and MERCY are going for you. But I see bad choices aren't punished in bronze. Because a lot of other people are also making bad choices.
Norfeo, if you are reading this, stop trying to sleep a gold Orisa! When they use fortify they are no longer susceptible to cc.
I won't anymore xD Promise ^^
@@Norfyo I used to do it allll the time when OW2 first came out haha!
Sigma had 10000 IQ at the end there
New to the game/this channel. Does he review games from console players? I know my aim needs work, but I’d like an opinion on my “positioning” and cool down usage. Great video. I’m not even an Ana main but I learned a lot.
He does!
Back in the day this player woulda have been making MW2 montages of their throwing knife kills
Emongg: continually points same thing out like its not a vod :p
Honestly in bronze even if Ana was in the back bronze tanks will literally go out of their way to kill you and your tank will let it happen 😂
It's okay man, those walls looked really tired. Being shot at and played around all day. At least you have the decency to give them a rest
What's that 8-bit-sounding song? I like it
Every tank should play each support once, so they know the limits of that support and you can play around them.
11:23 did tha_
Did that orisa just canceled her fortify?
I like that shes not afraid to use her cooldowns and she just throws them out whenever she has them which can definitely be better than holding them forever. Slightly better positioning and aim and she'll be ranking up in no time
Also just lowering the sensitivity to force you to play lower back and not flick as much goes a long way
Is that streambeats?
half bronze games feel like open queue gold, gold + players are stuck in bronze and accidentally gatye keeping eachother its hilarious all it takes is falling down ONCE one bad placements
Am I wrong, or did they only hit one sleep on attack?
I’m pretty sure this Ana has moved from console to pc. Or they just started playing fps. But I like how they say they THINK they have gotten better. Not that they DESERVE a higher rank
Prob a dumb question but can someone reply with this song list?
When you've been platinum/gold ALLL of OW1, then you're hard stuck bronze in OW2, something is wrong.
To be fair, playing aggressively with Ana in low elo is pretty much a must, mostly because of your incompetent DPS
Focus on damage, damage, damage
I have 100% sleep dart accuracy on Anna I don't deserve to be in bronze. I only shoot one dart per game but I make sure it hits. That counts, right?
Bruh that's an office building???
Kinda seemed like that Ana forgot they have a scope
i don’t think it would’ve mattered either way 😭 90% of shots would still be missed
this ana almost plays like me but i am diamond when i actually bother to play ranked lmao
I was only in bronze my very first season and I ended in plat 5 DPS and support idk how people can be bronze 😭
what is the best way to not lose in ot when the opponent has sigma ult and pulls you off?
Preposition in preparation for it. Don't all cluster on payload. Then try to touch as soon as your teammates get lifted off/the ult registers.
Anything lower than diamond with the high sens every time😭
surely if u are bronze or new u would play a less aim intensive support until ur more comfortable like what? bro would probably do more healing on zen like...
Emong looking so cute
Agreed
true!
My final verdict is.. Plastic 4
Staying at your rank doesn't mean you're not improving. It just means you're not improving faster than other players.
Ahhhhh bronze. Always entertaining
The using abilities just because they are off CD hurts my sole. I aleays view abilities as added value. What value is truthly being added o
If you are not hitting anything 80% of the time.
I would actually let you watch my gameplay and see my position and play style is like tbh I need to know how I do
My hypothesis is: It's the scope bro. It's too wonky and non functional man, it's impossible to aim with that crap.
Emongg is salty this player plays rein better than he does 😅
I wish I did 🤣🤣
Alpha Sigma should not be in bronze for that game winning ult.
7:47 u sure? Too active for sleeping stone
If you get out of my LOS, that is on you.
overwatch isnt about skill. its purely about luck wether you get good teammates and bad enemies or bad teammates and good enemies
You need to focus on your aim drastically, often missing easy tracking shots. Recommend you do some aim training.
GGs overall
