Hearing him explain what he plans to do and the soft promises he makes. They flinch as tears threaten to escape.*
Jackal: "No matter what happens, no matter where you are....I will find you again. From the Sands to the Empire, all the way to the freezing North...I will find you." *His voice seeming to etch the vow in their very soul. He had never lied to them before so he wouldn't start now.* "Goodbye Mage...Stay safe..."
Mage: *sinks to their knees as they stop casting. Burying their face in the cloak. Making their own promise, that they would survive and they would see Jackal again. Possibly smack him for leaving them behind so rudely. But then they would hold him close and never let him go again.*

Is funny. I live in an actual desert so I completed Jackals saying before him and kind of teared up as is of common knowledge when you live here long enough. I knew he was not going to be back because we arrive alone to the store with the other two guys. I feel definitely sadden. Jackal was pretty authentic and carefree. But I need to live to his desire and my masters. To keep myself safe and to learn better magic. To not let anyone else I love to suffer anymore. Not a grieving prince, not a sweet elf, not the best mercenary in the crimson sands, and definitely not a fellow mage apprentice. No more people. No more... *grabs tightly to the cloak*

This character is one of my favoutites from your universe . He has dept, which you did not try to rub in our faces from the first audio , on the contrary, you let it unfold to the listener slowly so that it has more impact not only to us but to the story also. He undoubtably has character which is fascinating; he is not good or bad but lovable anyway ,( this goes to such an extend that he might as well be a character from a novel) and lastly you manage him so well that you make the listener not only invested to him but to the whole bunch of characters and story related to him in any way. Your work and content has such extraordinary quality, that one would not expect to be found in such a medium.
