    Amazing! There's something about knife making and leathercraft that "calls for me" thanks for being so inspiring in your words and videos. IDK if I ever make a living out of it, but certainly it gives more life to my days

    I have a pen business I've had since 2014. I am always struggling with things. I always done some type of leathercraft. I am a self made tool maker myself, but I dont sell them. And your video has inspired me to keep on going. Thank you for your story.

      Yes, keep pushing, keep going and learn to make friends with the struggle. The struggle can teach you so much. Regards Terrick

    With my limited 30 odd years of working, I found your first trade is the hardest to obtain. I am a marine trimmer, heavy diesel fitter and a hydraulic fitter, with both A & B in hydraulics. Yes I do get bored quickly but I also love learning new stuff. I am now in the process of moving into leather craft.
    But totally agree, never give up and never allow yourself to stress. Love the vids, just show me anything I will watch it. Content is only a fraction of the reason people watch UA-cam vids.👍

    Thanks for the words of encouragement. I started an Etsy store 2 Days ago with my handmade knives. Like you I was very concerned on putting my name on them. Had it not been for Family and Friends I may still not have done it. Then this video pops up I guess this is the "FAITH" part of the formula! Keep up the great videos, I always enjoy them when they come out!

    Hi fellow South African, living in Spain these days and recently stumbled across you Vids. For a number of years now I'm making leather stuff for my own use. I truly love your tutorials an can already see how my work improves. Keep up the good work and keep the vids rolling in. Say hi to the boere Oom (nice chap ) making that quality knifes. Thank you for sharing the beginnings of the knife journey with us. You always have such encouraging words of persistence and patients. It seems to be a struggle between perfection and fear of failure at times for me. I appreciate you posting this Episode i made my first "dopp" bag yesterday ironically it taught me so much. I can't wait to see your version. Keep up the fantastic work Master Terrick & Co!

    Awesome that was interesting hearing how it all started. I was thinking, the trip, some parts looked like New Zealand and then the American West as someone has commented!

    I tried making my first sheath based, at least in part, on your video. I find leatherwork much harder than bladesmithing. Thanks for the encouragement.

      Thanks for the message, I have heard more than a few knife makers say the same thing. I used to make a lot of sheaths for many different makers years ago.

    i have this knife and it is sharp and i use green rouge on it with stropping what can i do to be a little more aggressive i do have a 4000 grit wet stone could i use this to tune it up some????

    • @CHARTERMADE
      @CHARTERMADE  4 роки тому

      Hi Tim, Yes your stone should work. I have a video on the channel on how to sharpen the knife. Stropping is good but touching up the edge on a stone is just as important. Regards Terrick
