The issue is that hundreds, if not thousands of people paid a lot of money to see this dude perform and he just didn't show up. Have you seen the posts from the ice skaters talking about how heartbroken they were after hearing (hours out mind you) that they wouldn't be able to perform? As well as the long silences and general disinterest from Frank only after he got on the stage hours later than he was supposed to? People were standing there waiting for him bruh. This is just a surface level criticism, if anyone comes back I'll expand. IMO this is a lot worse than Ye as far as separating the art from the artist. At least people know what they might get with that cat
I mean like i said... that is just life... especially with something as unexpected as an injury one little thing throws off every hence why he was an hour late... he wasnt an hour late because he wasnt there, he was an hr late because there needed to be an audible.
So I actually saw him in 2017 in Helsinki, basically the last show before the hiatus. Now looking at the Coachella show I feel like it's a common theme. I remember long pauses, difficulties, mixing up the beat so it was hard to follow and everything else. At Helsinki he brought out an orchestra which didn't make it easier as I think technically there were some mess ups (or who knows maybe it was intentional) but the levels felt off and I just remember thinking that something is out of tune. Nevertheless it was a great experience,, it felt weirdly personal as he was trying to figure stuff out definitely a memorable experience and to think in hindsight how lucky I was to catch that show. I think he tries to do something special/different/unexpected/weird but Id guess now without a large label backing you it's just much harder. He could do the show very simply and easily but I kind of respect that he doesn't, I don't think he's just trying to cop out as in Helsinki he apologised alot and really seemed to be struggling and trying to figure it out.

While Frank is at fault for showing up late and scratching everything last minute I do think Coachella made him perform due to the contract he signed in 2020.
I accepted that he retired. I bought Blonde day 1, and it was the last album I heard before turning 16 that year. I sadly pity the fans who STILL wait to this day. Even the youngest fans back then would be LEAST 20 now.
