Funny I had this tune in my head this morning, remembering this original 78RPM record of my childhood. I didn't think it would be possible to find it, but here it is! Wonderful stuff. As a kid in the 50s and 60s I knew all the words. I don't regard it as racist... I think it's just fun. Racism doesn't mean anything in my world, only that people who are offended have their own inner work to do. I had the 78RPM record until about 12 years ago when I left it in Spain along with nearly everything else I owned. Thanks Randy for uploading this gem to youtube.

My Dad had this on a 45! My brothers and I listened to it over and over. We knew it was funny! And, we had Japanese cousins....so quit the racist crap! Also keep in mind that this song was only a few years after the end of WWII, so the nation was healing from Pearl Harbor...this fun song probably helped them move on from the pain. So many lost in such a violent struggle. We just loved, "Hey Joe, what'ya know, what are a-cookin' in Tokyo...that's just plain old funny stuff. Fun rhyming as well!!!
