It's really only as toxic as you make it for yourself. I never see or encounter any toxicity since I only follow artist accounts. My feed is like 90% people posting their works and 10% people posting food pics/cats/stream schedules.
Twitter always seemed like a place that was pointless unless you need to advertise yourself in some capacity. It NEVER seemed like a pleasant platform to be on for the average person (though at one point it was better than Tumblr). & It's gotten worse with the new CEO. So, on one hand, it's good that she's leaving. On the other hand, she really shouldn't have been relying on it in the first place.
I don't know you could make some friends and have it be a pleasant place to be if you are an average person as in not trying to build something as in content creation or seeking clout and just seeking out genuine connections instead as it is supposed to be a social media platform in the first place not a job advertisement place Though some places become so big that they should be crowd founded and become apart of the public domain as it becomes unsustainable at some point and they have to charge for stuff or shut it down. It would actually be a great use of people's taxes for once

I think the big problem that twitter does for big creators / upcoming ones is that since so much communication and Current topics can be talked on there, not many platforms that do try and be like twitter fail hard thus resulting in no completion for it While some like me view twitter as a place to find, connect and make new friends like with any social media site, it gets plauged with a lot of clout chasers, horrible celebs, depressing news and people who are either really stupid, trolls and scammers. Its nothing new, but twitter has that power to amply anyone's voice whenever you login-ed in On a side note: The For You Page Tab on twitter that was added long ago was the worst decision they have made cause now its gathering data on what tweets you view and click on and was the random chance of seeing death cartel footage or just straight up murdering. I do think twitter can be used for a good cause despite it being in the complete shitter, it think using it in moderation can help alot of people as i make sure i only follow people that i do like, friends or YT i sub to and not take so much of what people say to seriously. It can be hard for alot of people but try it can it help a lot

I've never fully used Twitter, I only started trying to use it when the mass exodus happened from Tumblr. But I can never stay on for that long, it's always been such a horrid website. I got one to follow some of the artists that dipped, and post my stream announcements, but it's really not worth it. It's such a emotionally and mentally draining website. I wish there was another site I could follow all these artists that left Tumblr when it had its rocky spot. All the politics, tribalism, drama... it's so annoying, and taxing. Good on her for dipping, it's so not worth staying on there.

Based decision. I lately I did the same and I feel better and have more time. I'm not a popular content creator so it's not as important platform for me but I can see where it's just not worth it even for people with big following numbers.
