There's a fast food restaurant in Russia called "Borscht in a bun". Basically they make soup like you normally would, but then they take the solids, like the meat and veggies and stuff, and bake them into a handheld pie, and you get the pie and then a cup of the broth to chase it with. Pretty clever idea for a soup-adjacent experience on the go.

i legit squealed when i heard lucas and jordan. this was a really fun episode. the total mental break down from josh. nicole running back and forth constantly. lucas just bringing a little chaos and jordan being emotional and tech support at the same time. great stuff
When they started talking about there being no moisture I yelled "oil isn't moisture" then josh started yelling it immediately after me and I felt very vindicated.
Well the definition of moisture is: water or other liquid diffused in a small quantity as vapor, within a solid, or condensed on a surface. And oil is in a liquid state and can become a vapor. So you’d be wrong, oil can be moisture as all liquids can be. A liquid Can only be a liquid if it’s able to freeze and evaporate. While you need to go through a different process to freeze oil, supercooling still manages to freeze it.
@@Crying2Death 100% and in the context of those gross jiggly fries from the last episode, there was too much oil moisture for them to have a chance at getting crispy. In a deep fryer the oil itself is getting the fries crispy, but in an air fryer the circulating air is what gets the fries crispy. The fries can’t receive the circulating air if they are coated with a thick layer of oil.
@@bd80247 You do not make plain fries from scratch without oil on them at all in an airfryer. The fries that come frozen that are put in airfryers are par-fried in oil, so they have oil on them already and are partially cooked. They just needed to cook the fries longer, or boil them first and also know how to use the settings properly. The oil on them should have been fine, I do it all the time. A lot of people talking about airfryers not needing oil at all have only cooked things from frozen meals that already have necessary ingredients in them are are pre or partially cooked already. So of course it comes crispy!

you definitely DO use some oil if you're cooking from raw ingredients in an air fryer. you just don't put it on frozen foods because they already have some oil on them from being fried once before.

The French fries were hard (some call that crunchy), the browning was uneven, and everything comes out dry. Even my oven has an air fryer function, and I never use it, because the outside of whatever becomes extremely hot and dry, with the inside inappropriately heated. I do not like it…but I also do not like fried foods, in general. I have noted over these years that my tastes are radically different from many in the Mythical Universe. @@BlakKlaa2 Actually if you catch the brand, that is an air fryer. My air fryer is a front loader with racks. It doesn't have a bucket like a "traditional" air fryer, but it works great.
