Josh: “Do you think We made you a worst cook here?”
Lily: “Uhh, yeah, yeah!!” 😭🤣
Oh the shame. 😂
And then Josh laughed like an anime villain. lol
She's certainly more feral and neurotic. Someone should check that whatever's going on with Josh isn't contagious …
She is probably right
@@test74088 It isn't and yet everyone here has just become a version of him. It's made the channel worse.
Whenever Josh and Lily team up it's like they amp up each other's food nerd wings and immediately start flying towards the sun
It makes for fantastic and imaginative dishes imo, but it might not be everyone's cup of tea
Snot mike up puff tee.
The Willy Wonka style question made me spit out my coffee 😂😂
What did u spit it onto
@@RandomUserYTisFailing u know how the grandparents lay in bed together head to foot
Funny thing is, I knew instantly exactly what she was talking about.😂
No shot. It was funny but you didn't spit anything out except yappin
That's the the most convoluted description of a BabyMoon. LOL It's just a last vacation before you have your baby so you and your partner can enjoy themselves on vacation without a kid before the baby comes and everything changes for the foreseeable future.
So why do that pregnant when You can do the trip before, conceive a child on it and call it a day? Why bother travelling pregnant when You can spend that time learning how to be a parent?
@@DubultaisT because SCIENCE!
@@DubultaisT Don’t be so deliberately obtuse.
it's just another commercial plot to get people to spend money.
sounds dumb, you can just call it a vacation.
@@_korbo_ like diamonds which actually cost nothing but they figured out a way for people to buy diamond rings and speculate how many diamonds come into market so they could make the price of diamond how they want it?
Vi's face at 10:20 during the Mayo Girl origin story and Josh's at 11:06 during the "Willy Wonka Style" discussion are two of my favourite things I've ever seen on Mythical Kitchen.
Haha. Where I'm from, that type of sleeping arrangement is called "jack style", as in Jack, the playing card in a deck of cards, because it has two faces in opposite directions. It's a very common way to sleep when you have more people than should reasonably fit in a bed.
Knowing Lily comes from a Michelin star restaurant and all the technique she put into this and then losing… I also worked in Michelin star kitchens. And I felt this so hard. Lol I wonder if things would have been different if Jordan was the judge. But I love KG so much. Nice little switch up!
Things definitely would have been different if Jordan was the Judge, which is precisely why i don't like her as a Judge very much.
Yeah Jordan would have been prepared for the more advanced dish
@@savage4242 She very might still have picked the eggs benedict where they just swapped ham for spam, but she probably would have known what chawanmushi was and that it isn't "pudding"...
I definitely love the back and forth between recipes. Much better than seeing one team cook their dish all the way through and then the other . You have them both fresh in your mind at the end.
From what I've seen they always do it like that.
Or is it different in some of the earlier episodes ? I don't recall very well, bit vague.
@@Gnomelotteearlier episodes they did 1 team then the other
@@FYAjibber000 Yes, I do remember this now, think when I wrote that comment must have been a mix of watching many of the other style videos and my brain being tired.
@@FYAjibber000The better way
Love how quickly Josh walked that back when he said Julia has flaws and Lily asked him to elaborate lmao. Smart partner.
I am loving the editing style in this episode. The back and forth works so well.
21:52 josh saying in french it means dogs drool... and the searing look from Lily saying "SHUT UP, you're ruining the experience!" XD XD XD
Vi: That wrist work is crazy
That chawanmushi looked sooooo GOOD!!! Justice for Lilly
I totally forgot about that scissoring scene in Willy Wonka
💀
i love how borderline chaotic this episode is
Borderline? Josh is in it.
The crossed the line early on, Josh may have been the least chaotic one the episode, for once.
rip the egg custard. although i think i would also enjoy the sandwich more, kind of a bummer the custard definitely instantly lost because KG doesn't like pudding textures
It's spam! Why would u want it in fancy pudding?!
Whoever has ever thought that a fancy savory pudding was their favorite food? Or even a comfort food? Nobody!
It's a japanese side dish. SIDE, not a dish
@@usucktoo many japanese people do eat it as a comfort food actually, and its a common side dish in japan. also i dont see why it being a side DISH is an issue, it's a completely fine dish on it's own and classically made with pork.
i agreed on the sandwich winning, my issue was that the egg custard had no chance because of the texture because KG doesn't like pudding so even if she loved the flavor it would still likely lose due to texture.
relax lmao.
@@shuubeans
"also i dont see why it being a side DISH is an issue"
well that is pretty self explanatory. SIDE dish, it is served along a main course, it can't stand on it's own.
@@CedricBassmanaight lmao
that stray Emily burn at @13:02, oof
Josh spinning that Willy Wonka tidbit into sleeping "Mighty Joe Young" style was incredible comedic timing 😂
lmao "do u think working her makes u a worse chef"
"yes"
the ending is so fitting
I like the new edit of cutting back and forth between dishes.
The back and forth editing made this feel more intensive for some reason today. But yay! Congrats Vi and Nicole!!
Mayo girl out there just using her wrist like a pro. 😂
I really like how they are showing both cooking processes at the same time now instead of one side at a time. The juxtaposition is hilarious.
This episode- particularly the whole "Willy Wonka style" discussion made me realize I don't watch this for the food anymore. I watch it for the insane banter with food content as a bonus.
I honestly think that the judges almost always prefer comfort and familiarity than bougie things, Lily and Josh stay away from exotic and fancy things! 😭😭
But I feel like their dishes venture beyond just the normal stuff, very American comfort foods and into different cuisines from around the world. Sure their end goal might be to appease the judge but idk I kind of dig how they go beyond the basics
@@akuberry_ agreed - it's never something i'm going to try to replicate at home, but it's interesting to see the different techniques and flavor combinations from elsewhere.
@@akuberry_ I actually also love how diverse their dishes are! I’m Asian and I love how they’re not afraid to do different things. It’s just that most of the time I notice the judges prefer things that are more familiar to them which is actually a bit saddening but that’s okay.
I think that's why they chose the dish because otherwise they'd be too OP
There was a point starting at 16:49 that it genuinely looked like Lily wanted to cry Josh's chaos almost broke her
lol I think it threw her when Josh went to “Georgia o’keefe”. I assume she knows, but he does not, of the cultural significance of O’Keefe’s flowers, and I’m am old school rotflmao
She's joking
He’s not often conducive to winning.
At the end you wanted to hug Lily for all the grief Josh put her through😢. She had it rough this time😢
I don't know how or why, but It makes total sense that Josh would want his baby to be a Yinzer.
The “remove before flight” tags are little tags they actually have on planes that are attached to things that come off the plane. When the plane is on the ground parts of it have removable safety covers and those covers have those tags attached. When they are getting a plane ready to fly they walk around the plane removing all the parts with those tags. The tags make it very visible.
I slapped one on my pilots back once before a walk around, the other ground crew were laughing their collective butts off. :D
Also safety pins to lock the nose gear for towing or pushing out an aircraft. It helps prevent the pilots from accidentally turning it and damaging tow bars or othe parts of the aircraft/ground equipment.
why is it on a jacket though that's so clownish lol
*proudly sports his 'INOP' shirt*🛩
@@_korbo_ Alpha Industries, the brand that makes the jacket, make the clothing for the US Military and NASA - it's a nod to that part of their business.
I bet that chawanmushi tastes real good
As someone who lives in Pittsburgh, Nichole’s take of, “You can’t do that to my poor Julia. That’s not fair.” Is one of the most accurate description of this place. 😂
That mayo girl comment was wild
Please, please, please! Make a Podcast of V and Emily talking about dating and dating advice!
The lip glossing 😂😂😂
Was looking for this comment, I loved it 😂
The irony of the spam, the only part made by Josh, being the best part of the dish after all the flak that Lily did the majority of the work. Brutal lmfao
but that's just the texture of chawanmushi tho
And that's your reason to not cook weird egg pudding when presented with SPAM.
@@alexsysoev7774 Or rather to know you audience and assume that something more robust might be satisfying when a 200+lb woman is going to be the taste tester.
@@cheeeeezewizzzwhat does 200+ have to do w taste 💀. It’s a culture and preference thing more than weight. She didn’t grow up with savory egg custard so it’s gonna be weird for her. I did grow up with it and I’m sure it tasted great.
@@alexsysoev7774 to be fair KG was the worst judge choice, where is Jordan?
I made a comment about it too but yeah Lilly has lost more than once because “this tastes good but the texture bothers me” when they end up having a judge other than Jordan or Emily who’ve had fancier things before. Idunno if they know judges before they plan the dish but if they do I guess she just can’t do fine dining if it’s a picky eater
Listen I know taste is subjective. But I feel like Lily and Josh's dish deserved more credit.
It was a more bold and interesting take on the ingredient, as well exploring Japanese cuisine and exploring outside the box, I definitely preferred it. The judge had a preconceived idea that it was sweet because it was custardy and was disappointed when it was more savory and salty 🤷🏻♀️
Yea annoyed at the judge. She shouldn’t be judge again.
It was crap. Americans don't eat crap like that. The judge picked correctly
Wow, I really want my spam to be in some fancy savory pudding! Oh yeah, love those savory puddings!
/S
@@usucktoo savory puddings rock, imagine not liking scrapple or spoonbread
8:43 Spam Tainted Butter was my nickname in high school
I LOVED this episode, but Vi and Nichole were absolutely hysterical at the judging 😂
Josh is giving big Milo Thatch from Atlantis vibes.
Definitely not the right judge for an egg custard dish
Yeah it felt very bias to what type of cuisine they’re used to
or perhaps not the right ingredient? not sure a sweet and salty meat custard is ever a good idea.
@@jlt131you wouldn’t have been a good judge choice either lmao, chawanmushi is literally a savory egg custard. It’s mostly Europeans that have sweet egg custard dishes, a lot of Asian custards are savory
@@psycofire93 and it's an American show and all the judges they've ever had are, I believe, American. With American tastes. So yeah maybe not the right place for it if they wanted to win. But it was still interesting to see
Yea I was super annoyed at it. She shouldn’t be judge again.
"Josh I'm explaining my dish!!" I love that they all just know it's Lily's dish and Josh simply helped. 😂😂
Yes. This editing is better than normal. It’s definitely better seeing both teams and their correlating progress side by side instead watching each team start to finish.
Chawanmushi was rigged at the start haha i knew americans wont like it that much
Honestly looked amazing. I need to find somewhere that serves it asap
"Spam tainted butter" is such a combination of words.
Josh's face at 11:11 was the kind of face you make when you're legitimately concerned HR might get involved
The way Lily ignored the Georgia O'Keefe comment 😂
Thank you Lily for introducing us more to the asian dish!
Josh: "She has her faults too..."
Lily: "Like what?"
Josh: "Uhhh...What?"
Great save sir! 👏
To whoever editted this video, you did an incredible job bouncing the teams back and forth. Love it!
What are the odds that I juuuuuust watched Mighty Joe Young for the first time in 20 years the other day?!?
nicole's energy this episode was so good
@Nicole - Please try to take Hickory Spam, slice it real thin and fry in a pan until the edges are crispy. It's a great alternative to bacon, when camping or on the road because it doesn't need to be refrigerated.
That eggs benedict looks bomb
I feel like Josh and Lilly are easily the two most dangerous chefs on Mythical Kitchen... separately.
I come for the challenge, but stay for Josh' energy
This is like the 3rd time I saw someone reference Pittsburgh in a video (including the GMM International Fries) and it just warms my sweet yinzer heart!
And Nicole, absolutely _no one_ refers to it as the Pitts.😂
You're headed to the 'Burgh!
Lily is amazing! Shes come so far from her first episode, she clearly feels safe and comfortable to be herself around them.
Spam Butter ought be "SPutter"
Egg custard or steamed eggs is my favorite. Definitely more of an Asian palette when it’s savory. I used to not like it when I was younger but now I love it. Both dishes looked really good ❤
I have a friend because her parents went on a baby-moon. They lived in Chernobyl and they left just before... Chernobyl
Lily is great XD
that little breakdown/tantrum was hilarious
10:18 Nicole 😂 with a straight face and everything lmaoo
I really liked this editing style where they went back and forth
I love the back-and-forth editing style on this episode
This spam episode was nothing but pure chaos energy
Vi is looking great today, the hair, the jacket!
Lol lilly slumming it with you Josh!
I love Spam. I recently made chicken fried spam with cream gravy. It was delicious.
Never thought about that, but it sounds good. I like SpamLT sandwiches or fried Spam, mac and cheese, and black eye peas.
i recently discovered it. even just sliced thin and pan fried. little crispy meat crackers. (well maybe not that crispy)
Josh's comment about oranges and carrots made me laugh. Because the compound that makes plants orange is called carotanoids. So an orange is called orange, and anything orange-yellow is called at carrot(carrot-eh-noid) phonetically 😂
Big Baddies who Brunch merch when
Being called "mayo girl" followed up by 10:46 I lost it🤣
I nearly died from the irony of using SPAM Lite but a whole stick of butter
As a Pittsburgh’er I think Josh having his baby here is perfectly fine, I would be honored if he did. We have a lot of bridges, a unique accent, a sports city, fries on every dish, and three rivers!!!! Also Nicole it’s not the Pitts, it’s the burgh!!! Love you guys, Josh let’s play rocket league!
"spam custard* is a phrase I never thought I'd hear
had me hooked right up to and including the 'put dish soap under her nose so we can see the bubbles"
Mayo girl goes crazy lol
This episode was the best one ever! So funny!
Josh must know Kam Paterson carrying rocks in his pocket 😂
So minor complaint. Both dishes looked awesome. It felt like the spam wasnt the star of the show. This felt more like an egg challenge that both used spam. I understand they used the spam for other portions but it didnt feel like the staple
The two newlyweds arguing like they're married to each other. 😂 Poor Lily, but way to go Vi and Nicole.
These episodes keep getting funnier omg no matter who gets paired together, it's an awesome dynamic.
Sweet, delicious chaos.
That lip gloss bit was hilarious 😅😅😅😅
V: Comment below where you want to have your baby!! 😭🤣
is never/nowhere an option? i'll take that one please
In a spam factory during an earthquake....
I enjoyed the editing on this episode. The quick transitions made things feel a tad more chaotic and hilarious.
next time have Rhett and Link vs. Josh and Trevor!! LOL.
Putting link with anyone on a cooking challenge is an automatic loss. Are you new to the show? The guy has no culinary skills whatsoever and also a horrible taste in food, gotta love link but thats just facts lol
@@davidoriggan I have been watching GMM since the very first Will It video. I know that Link has no culinary skills and can't handle a knife. but I think that it would be hilarious to watch Link try to cook anything!!
KG needs to start a side hustle where she reads books or does some type of podcast, because her voice is soooothing!
I know Lily was STRESSED this episode, I really felt her frustration 🥴
For two weeks I literally ate teriyaki stir fried spam, sushi rice and the flavored seaweed sheets. It was great lol
Lily, you might be a worst chef now but you’ve grown as an individual SO DAMN MUCH
The chaos of this episode was so good! Willy Wonka style took me out 🤣🤣 (Josh sweetie have mercy with all the millennial boy band hotness I'm only human and well ssppaaaam!) That sandwich looked so good 🤌🏼 V and Mayo girl!!!
Lily plz don't quit you're awesome!
Josh casually eating a rock at 22:28
Nicole: I got that wrist action.
Vi: Bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Lily is cooking and all josh is doing is talking 😂. I love you Lily
Josh's frustrating attempt to plate the dish was a moment as intense as an episode of The Bear 😂
Deep fried egg. Now thats kinda neat.
Spam is underrated!! 💯
you may want to check what that means.
