In the Game I played I built a battleship, a cruiser and several transports for Germany. Those transports were a big factor. I could use them to attack Britain, so Britain was forced to build forces in London, giving the Ottomans breathing space. Or I could land in Russian territories behind front line, meaning they had to maintain forces back. Those transports, especially until I decided what to do with them, were a very strategic resource.
Just began watching your 1914 vids, and I like your breakdown of the country's strategies. This may be more aggressive, but I like to attack France more, and contest the territories at the very least. Even if I do not capture them, contested territories at least take I.P.C.'s away from the enemy.
Thanks E! I think that move could work in a non-tournament match. However, the movement rules in tournament play would make me very hesitant. Reason being Germany is extremely unlucky to take Lorraine outright on the first term, so the territory would be contested. If it's contested by French/German forces, that means France can double move reinforcements in. Since every French mainland territory is within two spaces of of Lorraine means that every unit in France's European army can counter attack on France Turn 1, which would completely obliterate the German attacking force. It's actually kind of funny that you mention this option. I did a play by play video series of a live game and the German player did exactly what you described. I was France and countered the move.
I contacted them and got a second batch for free. The main issue is each game has different ones, whouyld require far less if the Axis & Allie sgames used teh same chips/dice/markers as much as possible.
Jonathan Meyer, I know what you mean but I still think it is very possible to have countries like Russia in their accurate strength and countries like France to outnumber the Germans in WW2 as well and do something more than getting their ass kicked but it would require a more complex game than Axis and Allies. I do like the game but I do dislike some aspects very much.
If you wanted to look at it that way, the navies would have to be completely reworked as Britain had 22 dreadnoughts, German had 15, USA had 10, France had 4, Italy and Austria had 3. Britain had 121 cruisers, Germany had 41, USA had 34, France had 28, Italy had 21 Austria had 7, Russia had 14, and the Ottomans had 2. Britain had 73 subs, Germany had 31, USA had 18, France had 70, Italy had 20, Austria had 5, Russia had 26, and the Ottomans 2. I am not suggesting a one for one basis, that would be a ridiculous amount of units. But in the Game France has twice the number of battleships as Germany, historically Germany had almost 4 times as many. I would probably give Britain 4 battleships, Germany 3, USA 2 and France, Italy and Austria 1 a piece.
@@lennoxkohorst9054 Nope, the Russians had 5,971,000 soldiers compared to Germany's 4,500,000 soldiers at the start in total, with a population of 175 million people. Remember that the Germans fought outnumbered at Tannenberg
Interesting dilemma. Is the UK more likely to strengthen their fleet and buy transports if you leave their fleet alone round 1? Thus, taking IPCs away from India?

Interesting how in this version, WWI starts in 1945...lol...there is so many versions now that the dates get mixed up...
Hi E! Thanks for the comment. I'm a little confused. Where is 1945 coming into play with this version?
Jonathan Meyer
listen to your opening for this vid again...you call it Axis and Allies 1945
Oops! Good catch. Sorry about that!
Jonathan Meyer
Don't sweat it, no big deal, we all miss one now and then. I just thought it was kind of funny.
Keep up the good work!
Thanks! You as well.

has anyone else noticed that the company is really stingey when it comes to giving a good amount of game pieces?
Sean Edmunds I have been buying 2 copies of each game so I can have enough pieces. Sucks but its gotta be done.

Interesting!
I like to buy two battleships and a fight first turn. Go after the allied navy's early and hold them off from being able to go reinforce France
11:50 just realised Denmark has the German land that was in the Denmark area for some reason
I know this is a game but shouldn't Russia outnumber the Germans
EmperorOfFrance Think of it as a combination of historical quality, quantity, military/industrial infrastructure, and game balance requirements.

No beacause the Germans had a bigger army that the Russians

Risky move to attack the UK fleet! Curious to see howe it works out...
What makes you say that, Jasper?
@@JonathanMeyer84 i don't get what he means by that, you have to attack the uk fleet as germany right away.
