i recently bought a 01 new beetle. it was sitting for 10+ years. will start with starting fluid but only for a couple seconds. the fuel pump relay clicks but no power in the fuel pump. i replaced the fuel pump and still nothing. im thinking its the wires but i dont know. any help please lol. thanks
i have an automatic 2001 VW jetta 2.0 - it sat since december 2021 until now april 2023 mobile mechanic came by and put in a brand new battery, refurbished starter, cleaned up the rusted ground connection from the starter to the chassis or transmission whatever it is the car now cranks, but won't start - he then took off one end of the cold air intake and sprayed something into the engine while i started it up but then it died after 2 seconds the gas is original from probably november 2021 , i have about half a tank he is telling me that probably the fuel pump needs to be replaced any ideas if its just bad gas ? i have 87 octane in there

Trace the wires from fuel pump to the relay possible broken. Check pins for corrosion
Did you replace the fuel filter?
I believe it was with the pump

2013 VW Passat SE cannot find for my life smh I've check under the dash and under the hood and can't find the one they sell at auto part stores
Under the dash driver side there cover. Look top inside fuses and relay 646 numbered small relay on top of that fuse box it has push taps to release

You can hear the pump if it comes 9n or not. It's under the rear seat. While you setting in the car turn on position and listen to pump .

You will hear humming noise for a second
The pump job it's easy on this car. Old fuel most likely not the reason for not starting
