I had this cam installed along with CnC heads & raising the comp to roughly 10.8:1 as recommended by Castle Hill Performance/Exhaust and man it is awesome. Mine's manual and would be able to daily it if I wanted to. Power everywhere but definitely above 2500-3000. Had the idle tuned to be choppy as and couldn't be happier. Kids love how it sounds too. Turns heads for sure!
I believe crow recommended this this for most Square port applications as it responds best. What a huge dyno result for a 6L! Great job Strathi for the videos 👍
I really like that camshaft stathi!! That’s spot on I like the duration and lobe separation sounds good!! My 1289 gets a bit hectic on the kinder run lol…
Isn't this the same cam you put in my VE to replace the VCM13 I had in it when it dropped a lifter? 345kw at the hub in a manual VE with no heads, from 330 with the VCM13 was a nice surprise, and way more drive-able on the street as a manual as well. More important, the blokes knew that my mrs and I liked the VCM13 and didnt try to convince us to go with something smaller, just put in a nice big cam like they knew we wanted.
Been using them for well over 5 years now and we have never ever had a single problem with them. A lot of people are quick to blame a product when it fails without taking into consideration why.
@@IndependentMotorsports Ill give you my gearbox builders number if you like he is the person who had the convertor cracked open by ASNU convertors in Brisbane and was told that the convertor was the failure point, the whole process just cost me 6000 bucks there was not one part of the convertor that was reuseable the whole thing was destroyed.
@@AndrewMitchell001 I'm not here to argue I'm just stating the fact that we have never had an issue with them so when someone else reads your comment they can see my response. I have seen some pretty bad transmission calibrations where people are trying to do too much with the torque converter settings and in return that can make a converter fail. Sometimes it can be more of a tuning issue as opposed to a mechanical issue, The issues that you had is between you, your tuner and your transmission shop and the converter shop to talk out between each other to determine the exact reason for the failure I just don't like people blaming a product for a mechanical failure without giving the exact reasonings behind the failure. I'm not having a dig at you I just like to be clear and accurate As a lot of people get their information from comments and can sometimes be let down the wrong path.
@@IndependentMotorsports yes if you can afford it, i cant, but do have a stock VF series one Redline, put rear Brembo's on it and DPE rear mufflers, that's it? WOuld love to have Magensun 2.3 DOD Delete and good Quality Lifters Pushrods, Springs and retainers etc etc, so it has around 350KW to 400KW and with good AN fitted Trans cooler and circle d convertor , after all the auto can handle that much any more than your risking the auto, plus the auto needs to be tuned to the power as well? So around the 15K to 20K mark?🚗🚗🚓🚓✌✌👍👍😀😀
I don't think so,Its actually very consistent and in line with everything that we do. This is done on our hub dyno that has backed itself up time and time again at the drag strip. And before you tell me that hub dynos read high go and watch the video that we have on our channel comparing our roller to hub dyno. Cheers 🥂

It's a really good cam 👌
Yeah I tried to explain to my kids before I got my VE SSV Manual Cammed and now they absolutely love it even more
I'm about to do the same is there any clutch surge?
@@flagpies23118minimal at lower speeds. Can easily daily it if you need to
Would love to see a vf ss with a turbo charger not a super charger
Great package and results 🤙🍻

You know that noise means business.thank you.i might ring you
I have 2008 ve gts ls3 auto with 80,000 kms all original apart from 3 inch xforce cat back want to do tune and otr how power will it make
Traditionally we would see anywhere from 270 to 280rwk
What a great combo 👍
Sure is mate when used with a good converter this camshaft and cylinder heads is the best street combo.

I'm about to do this cam to my ute, is drive ability still good and will it work well with STD diff gears and manual transmission?
Great job, great video as always and awesome car 👏

I do believe that was the cam we used.
I used a roadblaster 3200 and it exploded after 2 years and destroyed my gearbox , hope yours stays together..

You mentioned the camshaft as a 114Lsa, but on the Dyno screen it shows 112?
Or is that 112 two degrees advanced on install?

@@matt7678 My apologies it is a 114 I made a mistake on the dyno sheet.
Great work as usual. I would like to use this cam in my L77 manual, would you consider it good for a daily driver?
Thanks mate it's very streetable
Looks like an unlocked converter run? If so great numbers.
So I’ve just bought this cam to go with a side mount supercharger will it work well?
Yes it will work quite well
How come Blackwell cnc heads and not Higgins or another? Same same, just paying for the Higgins brand? $$$
We have been working very closely with Blackwell for a very very long time and I just couldn't go anywhere else.
What exhaust is that?
Pacemaker
Orea Munga.
WOw for over 10k its not worth it, but each to their own i guess. :)
If you can afford it enjoy your life And do what makes you happy. You only get one go at it.
