I love my 480 in my ls1. Tuner put in a bit more chop too so it’s sounds larger than it is but goes great cruising the streets .

My favorite VCM cam is the VCM6 it is marketed as a boost cam but I have found it to be particularly good in N/A applications I'm running one in my VZ with a std converter set up at 1 degree retarded from std (3deg adv) the important thing with LS tuning is to spend time working on idle quality..idle air and adaptive spark control are the key to making a modified LS run smoothly enough at idle in order to not push the converter...once you have mastered the art you can run a much larger cam than recommended on a stock or near stock converter.

Did it increase lower end torque (e.g when daily driving)?

@jamessimpson710 yeah mate was pretty tough all round. Bit of a push on the brake at the lights cause i had no stally. She ran a 12.8 with 20x10s and cheap tires. Was a great upgrade

@@Bazant-dm9pr how did you find it impacted fuel consumption?

@jamessimpson710 i drove it daily.. city driving was getting 350km to a tank. But drove up the fwy from melb to Adelaide was getting 700km still. So not great unless you drive fwy only

Great video! For those a bit green around the ears, how many klms is too many before you’d give an LS1 a rebuild as well as slap the cam in?

Hi Chris! This is a hard one to answer as there are so many variables but around the 200k mark is when you would exact the bottom end to be quite worn, depends how many skids it has done 😂😂

Considering the 480 would I have to do the stall immediately in the 6 speed auto behind the ls3 or can I get away with it for a while, not daily driven just a weekend warrior / family cruiser

      Hi Jack,
You would be able to get away with it if need be, it will have some push at lights etc but not too over the top, ultimately the 480 works best with a little hi-stall converter to eliminate the pushing.
