Excellent video. I was going to try cleaning the carburetor on my 150BT, but it hasn't been used in 5 years. Now that I'm in a home with a yard again, I'm going to just replace the carburetor. This may be the best tutorial I could ask for. Covered all the points and a little bit more. Blessings back atcha, brother.
Very informative video and step by step instructions. With the quality of our gasoline and infrequent use of seasonal equipment, I needed to perform this repair and your tutorial was perfect. Thank-you!
I took my blower apart & found the two torx screws that hold the carb in place loose , I tightened them up , installed a new spark plug and she’s purring like a kitten ! Thank you for the great video 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great video. My carb was loose, actually the part behind the carb, and the blower would not start This video showed me how to remove the air cleaner section and told me I needed a #25 torx the video was well done and save me a lot of time and got me going in about 10 minutes!
Thanks and i was about to be charged 100 for parts and 65 labor..and i left a great review. Ill buy the parts and let them have the labor. Im sure i could do it buuuut..
Hey Chris…I’m a hard luck DIYer…I can’t touch anything without something going wrong 😂! Well, I watched your video at least 10 times so I could say I was familiar with the work to be done! $20+ carburetor ordered on AMZ & within less than 40 minutes, I had her screaming like a banshee! WOW! Thank you Brother!
Mine was bogging a bit at full throttle....I took off the plastic cover on air filter...cleaned out a pile of debris, washed out filter in sink and sprayed a quick shot of wd 40 in the carb hole let it sit while I re assembled....started up and ran like a charm
I tell ya what seems to be the pain in the butt is getting the correct size fuel lines for these outdoor power items. There never seems to be a listing of the size even in the manual. Secondly, I have run into instances where people have thought they needed a new carb, put it on and it still would not stay running. It had nothing to do with the carb, it was the vent in the gas cap, it was clogged and would allow a vacuum to form inside the tank as the fuel was suctioned from it, after a while, it will not allow the motor to pull fuel to the carb. EXCELLENT video, but figured I would throw that into the mix as something to look at as well when troubleshooting a running issue.
Excellent video !! I can't start my machine after it crapped out on me. I changed the spark plug checked the piston to make sure it wasn't scored so I'm not sure this is going to correct my problem but for 22 dollars on amazon it's worth a try.
I have an older BT150. wondering if this carb will work as well. neighbor gave it to me. put in new plug/fresh gas...will at least start, but when you give it throttle wants to stall down. figured would just replace whole carb.
Great video, thanks for the info. Hopefully it will fix my problem of after a few minutes of running great starts to bog down when using full throttle.
Nice video....I have a question for u. I replaced the carburetor but still not getting a start....there’s spark at the plug.....I also replace the old gas . What’s the minimum compression of the blower that is required to start the motor....
@@outdoorpowertech7738 ok I just noticed the replacement carb has larger throttle openings on the intake side, not sure if that matters or not since the gasket would restrict that effect?
One thing you need to add is that you have to unscrew the gas cap. I actually know this but when I saw how through the video was I just followed step by step and when I pulled my vent line off gas went everywhere.
I put a new carb on mine yesterday and it still wont start. New plug..new car..new air filter...good gas..and i cant get it to start. All wiring is good too. I will check for spark when i get home from work tonight...I may need a new coil.
Dan M yes it requires a special tool but most of the time does not work. Just like everything else they built it cheap and you better off replacing the carb.
Mine cuts out when I give it gas. I've cleaned the carb., changed the gas, cleaned the gas filter and plug, and it still cuts out. Should I just replace it?
@@kcfan1972 if you still having bogging after replacing the carb you might want to check your screen that is on your muffler. If it’s clogged it will act just like a carb problem.
Where do i find the big gasket that goes from carb to engine mine is all black and torn a bit on the outside . Great video by the way i have a new carb but didnt come with big gasket so im waiting to replace till i find it
I have changed the carb fuel filter cleaned the arrestof plug filter .. it idles ... I raise the fuel and it conks out why !!!!!!!!!! Try gas again ?!!!!
some models have the high speed accessible, after removal of tamper resistant plug, also the liw side on top, also need to remove tamper resistant plug, most replacement hsve no high speed,...its burried in the casting for emissions, the other guy is right theres a video showing removal of the adjustment plugs,ua-cam.com/video/BO2B22NrlxI/v-deo.html
Too easy. With the affordability of cheaply made carbs I don’t even think small engine mechanics go through the trouble of cleaning carbs anymore. They just install a new one and charge home owners $120.

EXCELLENT tutorial, Brother! BEST one I've seen on carb in/out on the Husq BT-150. Y'all should be teaching this in a class!🔧
Thank you for the kind words

Super cool brother
Which one did you buy on Amazon? Seeing bad reviews on some
I put a link in my description for the only one on amazon with the highest reviews. If you want a OEM I can find that for you also. @@OhhEssence
@@outdoorpowertech7738 Ok perfect thank you. Is it the WYA-44 or the WYA-79 Carb?
depends on if your red choke lever is on the carb our on the air box

Helpful video. My carburetor crapped out on me from leaving old fuel in the tank. Thanks for the tutorial.
Solution to help is use 100% gas with Stabil. Seems to help my engines after leaving old gas in.

hopefully they will send you right one.

Should be they only used I believe two different ones.

I replaced my carburetor and it still bogs down when throttle up do you have to adjust the carb?
Muffler screen might be clogged

I have the same backpack blower, but my carburetor is different
If you send me info on it I can look it up for you.
Do you Keep the choke to the CLOSE position once it's started or leave it at OPEN position while blowing leaves around?
Fan Yang once it cranks take choke off
Is the carb adjustable on the 2018 150bt im not seeing the high or low adjustment like on most

Yes it has small pathways that sometimes can’t be cleaned. Best to just buy new one if it does not run after you clean it.

Yeah I wouldn’t do business with someone that charged that much especially if the machine was a cheap brand.
