My last (and I do mean LAST) Troy-bilt mower was like that. It was running fine when I stored it but would not prime when I was trying to get it running the last time. It was the air box/primer gasket leaking and that's where I had to surround the air passages with #2 Permatex. Then it started fine but the self propel quit as well as me and they all went down the road. I went myself for a week too later on. I know people cuss battery stuff all the time BUT when it comes time when you turn over + 3/4 a century and have added health hazards you acquire while trying to do the right thing and aren't really able to fool with much, an instant start and run rig is a very handy thing to have. Good fix on the Husky. Blessings 2 U!
My Sweetie has a Stihl battery 20 inch hand mower (self propelled) and I have a 42 inch Craftsman battery zero turn BUT I also have a 21 inch Snapper and 42 inch Craftsman gas jobs and 2 gas blowers when the battery jobs konk out but she has a Kobalt batter trimmer, blower and hedge clipper and a Stihl battery 4 inch trim saw. I've got a DeWalt trimmer but we just do our own place. PLENTY of tools. . @@gillgetter3004
I had a Ryobi BP42 that I got 10 years ago, it would start easy when cold but when you try to start it when hot or warm it would not fire. Got to be frustrating after awhile so I got rid of it and got an Echo PB-755, best 500 bucks spent, no issues since I got it.
My Kawasaki Brute Force has similar issue when starting in cold weather and it needs constant idle adjustments. The carburetor is equipped with idle knob on a flex cable for easy reach and the performance is dictated by engine temperature and ambient temperature and it takes time to get used to while annoying at the same time.
The tape you asked about is most likely construction sealing tape used to cover the seams (gaps) between 4'x8' sheets of either foam board or OSB sheathing that's used as siding underlayment for the exterior walls of various dwellings.
@@HomeGaragechannelI see it at right around 9:50 mark. Below/behind the carb something looks to be dripping in the background onto the top of the fuel tank
I put a really cool modification on my Honda HRN216 mower today. Those have the GCV 170 engine on them, but today I took a GCV 200 off of a junk Honda HRX217 and mounted it onto my HRN mower. So now I should get some more power out of the mower now that it’s got a bigger engine on it.
Yes, to your question. Have a Craftsman snowblower that works fine when I work on it to get ready for winter but in very cold weather, it doesn't stay started and then won't restart. I use a back up blower and have done all I can to get this problem blower working. New carb, gaskets, plug, correct fuel, replaced gas lines from tank and carb, store it properly and still it has issues. Compression is good 135psi, when it runs, it runs well. It is over 10 years old and started acting up about three years ago. Still play with it but still not satisfied. Not sure what else I can do. Yes, I did adjust the carb but really cold weather is problematic. Thanks again for your video tutorial. Always learning!!
My mother has an identical machine with over two thousand hours on it. I. Put a new carburetor on it last week and installed a spark arrester Delete package a few years ago. Other than that it still runs great. You just have to take care of things
I think they have some kinda spray that you can use on them gaskets sort of a way to recondition them I will look a little further and get back to you ? Got a few more years on that now nice job 👍
I had a motorbike which was like that,I think that it was worn piston rings which caused the problem . When I was doing my apprenticeship my manager had trouble getting a Ryobi line trimmer going which was getting repaired under warranty,I found out that it had a torn carburettor to cylinder insulator base gasket so I ordered a new one, fitted it & it started right away. We had all of Ryobis petrol lawn equipment dumped onto us, Ryobi didn't really know themselves like they didn't have equipment to test for crankcase leakage & my manager was an electrical mechanic by trade,he rewound a few electric motors in his time !
I have a 9month old Husqvarna blower 130bt it starts fine and will run in choke but then bogs down and quits when I turn the choke off… does that sound like the carburetor? The filter is super clean, I’ve only used it maybe 20 times. (Bought new). I’m thinking I screwed up and used a 40:1 instead of a 50:1 2stroke oil to mix in my gallon of gas 🤷♀️
Either the carb has been less effective at delivery fuel, in your 20 uses, which I'm not sure, how much time has passed. And my experience is, changing from the 2 mixtures, will have almost not effect on how the machine runs. I would try adjusting the L screw on the carb for more fuel first. But I do think your fuel system and carb needs to be serviced
My harbor freight chainsaw,Sometimes I starts it in warm weather and stay running sometimes not .Sometimes Start in cold weather won't stay running and I haven't tried to adjust anything yet Thank you for the video
I see after your first round of repairs and the test start the blower looked to be dumping fuel somewhere on the underside of the carb. Is that where you made your own gasket?

So I got one I’m working on the engine was seized up so I got it unseized but now it won’t start. They said it was running before it seized up. Do you have any idea what it might be? I got spark I got compression. I sprayed gas inside the engine it won’t start, let me know what else you think it could be thank you
sure, but did you un-seize the engine? Remember the anything you poured into the engine will combine and interfere with fuel you're adding to the engine to try and start it.
Hey home garage, I just picked up a Honda power washer for cheap, would you recommend using a pump protector? I’ve heard it recommended before but wanted to get your thoughts on it if it’s worth the premium price.
I have a 2012 bt130 backpack blower I put a new carburetor and new coil on it new spark plug it'll crank and then immediately die can you help me with this
sure thing, did you install a new gasket between the carb and engine and if so did you check to make sure it was in the correct orientation? You might have to adjust the new carb to work with the engine too
Hey bro what's up? This backpack blower looks great for being a decade old. I think that if I have to get a backpack blower for myself it would be overkill since my handheld blower works perfectly and get the job done around my home done quickly.
@Home Garage Channel Surely you asked your friend what kind of tape that was... but I want to see if I guess correctly?... 20Mil Vinyl Electrical Tape... How did I do? Peace
Looks like either gorilla or t rex tape from dollar general. My 4 wheeler is that now. Still haven't been able to look at it yet since i had a cyst removed from my left wrist
Interesting. There was nothing wrong with it, other than the owner taking it apart, and being unable to get it back together properly. That tape looked like black electrical tape, but I've never seen any that wide.

I don’t know why but it’s not letting me reply to you, but yeah it’s not running. I have fuel compression and spark. I have another question. I have an echo Backpack Blower that’s doing the same thing. Have you ever had this problem with an echo Backpack lower

What do you think about mods? Like a bigger engine on a trimmer or mower

What can calls one of these blowers to run a little slow and be slightly down on power?
blocked spark arrestor screen, restricted air flow, too much fuel, and a carb that's not opening all the way
