- Dinosauria, We ( Born Into This ) By Charles Bukowski
a few things i wanna mention here:
i didn't use my voice here because Charles Bukowski poems always sound better with Tom O' Bedlam's voice and it just felt right to put his voice here.
another thing, the style that i have used in the video is obviously inspired by illneas.
w o r d s //
Born like this
Into this
As the chalk faces smile
As Mrs. Death laughs
As the elevators break
As political landscapes dissolve
As the supermarket bag boy holds a college degree
As the oily fish spit out their oily prey
As the sun is masked
We are
Born like this
Into this
Into these carefully mad wars
Into the sight of broken factory windows of emptiness
Into bars where people no longer speak to each other
Into fist fights that end as shootings and knifings
Born into this
Into hospitals which are so expensive that it's cheaper to die
Into lawyers who charge so much it's cheaper to plead guilty
Into a country where the jails are full and the madhouses closed
Into a place where the masses elevate fools into rich heroes
Born into this
Walking and living through this
Dying because of this
Muted because of this
Castrated
Debauched
Disinherited
Because of this
Fooled by this
Used by this
Pissed on by this
Made crazy and sick by this
Made violent
Made inhuman
By this
The heart is blackened
The fingers reach for the throat
The gun
The knife
The bomb
The fingers reach toward an unresponsive god
The fingers reach for the bottle
The pill
The powder
We are born into this sorrowful deadliness
We are born into a government 60 years in debt
That soon will be unable to even pay the interest on that debt
And the banks will burn
Money will be useless
There will be open and unpunished murder in the streets
It will be guns and roving mobs
Land will be useless
Food will become a diminishing return
Nuclear power will be taken over by the many
Explosions will continually shake the earth
Radiated robot men will stalk each other
The rich and the chosen will watch from space platforms
Dante's Inferno will be made to look like a children's playground
The sun will not be seen and it will always be night
Trees will die
All vegetation will die
Radiated men will eat the flesh of radiated men
The sea will be poisoned
The lakes and rivers will vanish
Rain will be the new gold
The rotting bodies of men and animals will stink in the dark wind
The last few survivors will be overtaken by new and hideous diseases
And the space platforms will be destroyed by attrition
The petering out of supplies
The natural effect of general decay
And there will be the most beautiful silence never heard
Born out of that.
The sun still hidden there
Awaiting the next chapter.

all in all, thank you for watching
This version is an anthem for the times we live in.
Thank you for your effort and time.
A masterpiece on its own, brought to another level because of your adaptation.
Respect!
Great poem and presentation! He has such a way of putting things that instantly wake you up! Tfs! 💜
so true.
What a beautiful and moving poem! Humanity is doomed to destroy itself and the planet upon which we live.
FACTS
planet no, humanity yes.
@@Omega_Prime7 how do you figure?
@@shinobi-no-bueno The human condition(human behavior). In simple terms it’s the overall health of humanity and right now humanity is sick 🤒 and of course as time moves on it gets worse and worse until death 💀. The way only way to “save” humanity is either 2 things: option A - destroy all humans option B - change the human genome 🧬.
@@markceamusika humanity will take complex life with it. None of the previous extinction events have been this quick. Even the comet didn't have a rate of temp increase or species extinction like this one. There may not be another chapter. We should try and stop this one since it is us doing it. Even if only to try for aesthetic reasons. Too many people use "life will grow back" as an excuse for apathy. It's an assumption that it will.
Wow. Just wow. How maddeningly, ingloriously true. I weep that I have brought children and now grandchildren into this broken place. Where is Hope?
So gut wrenching to listen can't help to be brutally honest..
Every aspect of this is inspiring. The perfect amount of dark motivation.
ahh this is so so excellently made!!! I LOVE IT!!
THANK YOU!!!!!!
Everything that was said in this video is sadly true, only a matter of time but our lives are limited and not promised for tomorrow and that's what makes here, right now so beautiful. Thank you for uploading this, you're always inspiring even with a dialogue not of your voice 🙏
i love this interpretation. and thank you, means the world.
An absolutely brilliant and perfect juxtaposition of poem and movie
There is beauty in tragedy.
There is no beauty in a car crash or someone dying alone. Tragedy, real tragedy burns beauty alive.
Awesome! The best version of this poem!
Thank you for this! Outstanding work
This poem hits so many levels of deep 🔥🥵
Absolutely chilling.
Tom is killing all Bukowski these readings. Just nailing them.
i, for one, welcome it.
Sounds good, but you'll cry to go back.
The pain will be great. Be careful with what you wish for
@@paulfay8738 greater than what?
@@harryheebs690 who could be there to cry?
We think in being careless and wanting to end things is redemption, but infact running from hell to another isnt a difference, what awaits can be as worse as what we are having right now,or much worse therefore, get a hold on what you feel, youre probably feeling dead, which i hope gets better,
This's beautifully haunting.
A couple years back there was a better version of this on UA-cam.
I mean this one is good.
But it still sucks when a specific video is lost to the wormhole of UA-cam.
Yes that version was posted by illneas so sad it was removed. So much has been lost due to Disney and their corruption of the very copyright laws that made them rich to begin with. We should change course before everything good is gone.
@@amiracleone2803 Disney owns bukowski poems?
@@no_one_worth_knowing Disney changed the law.
@@amiracleone2803 I think it was not because of Disney but because illness used artwork of an artist without the permission. That was the masterpiece. I used to watch that every other day. It was illness's masterpiece. Sad that it was taken down
@@utkarshamal536 so you forget that Disney changed the law?
He was having a bad day, when he wrote this
Does know anyone what is the title of this song/melody in the background of this amazing film? I would like to listen it every time but sometimes witout the voice of Tom O`Bedlam :) Thank you very much for answer! :*
In the description
phenomenal.
Damn Charlie got it spot fkn on. Idk if ill be here to live this but im thinking i will
Well, that poem aged well...
Absolutely fantastic
HOLY. SHIT. 10/10
I love You, Charles.
I have goosebumps woahh!!!!
Or trajectory is set ....some believe we can stop it even though nothing supports that claim, we could never handle the duality of existence... being a self aware but still instinctual animal...
One of my favorites
Wow
I don't think he imagined his poem to be used in this way. Perhaps global destruction because of humans but not as revenge. But then again we must fight for our planet.
Wow......
Diary of the #1 optimist ! 😆
Well fucking done

Try harder
Sounds like Bukowski was giving an account of the result(s) of capitalism.
*globalism not capitalism
I don't think there is much of a difference.@@Quantrills.Raiders
@@PogoTheC1own capitalism works very well in a small system which is why the quality of life was better 100 years ago. Add more people and more money, you get corruption, this is true for any economy. Globalism is communism run by the deep state and is no good for anybody except for the ones in power because they own the production and the output of goods. At least in free market capitalism you can barder and trade. Capitalism says anyone who does their fair share gets what they're owed, globalism requires you to work at the allowance of the world government
This isn't poetry, it's a diatribe of depressive tripe and negative rubbish, the reader is far better than the author.
Badass!!!
