I have never sprayed water base, But in this vieo I can really see why guys like it....goes done fast and easy. Covers like gold. WIth that additive it looks pretty easy to spray......Just the prep is a little bit more.

Hi Gunny, that one visit modifier looks like it has transformed your basecoat application plus it covers really well on the first coat with a nice silky smooth finish, it must make the job so much easier plus as you said with a smoother finish it must be easier to wet the panel up when you lay the clear👌
I'm not sure why my mate here in the UK had problems using the one visit modifier when he tried it in the PPG system, he was saying it just didn't cover properly so he still had to do it in two visits with a flash time in between coats, he is a very experienced pro painter as well but I think he ended up leaving the place as he wasn't happy there😟🤔👍John UK

That looks like pretty good coverage. Im only an amatuer but PPE has usually been kind to me, mostly seem to get a decent job.
Last one was a prick though, motorcycle tank that did not want to play the game, fry ups, everything.
Very close to telling old mate to belt it up his ......
    Got there in the end.
Always enjoy coming back to see what Gunny's up to.
    Nice work as usual mate

When I spray a paint job similar to this. I like to spray the roof first. Water or solvent.

Used it before it was released. Really like it but it’s a hard sell with the additive at $1000 us and only marginal speed benefits if any. If it was less expensive it would be great. Envirobase is already pricey.

I've never sprayed water. My conditions and booth just aren't hot and dry enough. But that looked exactly like me sprayed solvent.

I sometime do the same thing with Glasurit 90 Line, one coat and straight over with control coat but only on darker colours

Isn't that what 100 line is for?

    • @stipq076
      @stipq076 2 місяці тому

@TheGunmanRAW It is but I tried it with 90 line, 90 line is thick but 100 line is a lot thicker I heard. And your WoW gotta be close shade so you don't overload the paint a lot with the 90 line if that's makes sense

It's still a bit sticky like Enviro, I recommend drying it right out with a heat gun

@ my boss is planning in switching to either the glasurit 100 line or spies hi tec In January from sikkens autobase I’m very much ready for the switch our booths are set up for water already. With your axalta systems you used to spray did you like it with the dv1??? If so what settings did you like on the digital gauge I’m at 15 psi which I think is 22 at the base of the gun

Get a Job as a helper. You already know how to paint but working as a helper. You could learn the ropes fast..then eventually apply for a real painters job In a few years

@@Oneinacrillion2000 there really is a unique skill set, so yeah I agree, get some experience, if you're a fast learner and lucky enough to have someone willing to teach you, then awesome, but there are too many weak minded people who won't share knowledge in this industry.

@ hoping to do a apprenticeship program for caliber, gerber, or crash champions. I’ve heard good things about crash champions. That’s why I’m planning on moving to a big city to find more work since I have a family to support, thanks for the advice.

As said, apply as a helper/prepper and let them know your intentions on wanting to paint. Be proactive and get as much experience as possible then go find a painter position. There is a huge lack of techs in this industry, it’s pretty much and employees market for now. Good luck.
