  • GAAHHH! Dyson just launched their BRAND NEW hair straightener - the Dyson Corrale! As expected from Dyson this straightener is changing the game in flat irons. I attended the launch event for the product and got first hand tutorials, tips, and every bit of information you need to know about this tool. The flat iron has flexible plates and it's cordless! It has a run time of about 30-45 minutes depending on how you use it. In this video I'm sharing my FIRST impression and honest feedback on this tool! Leave any questions you have down below!

    No doubt this is the best flatiron ever devised and made, I love it, so glad I bought it! It actually straighten right to the very ends of my long frizzy hair in one pass on low. No more frying my hair at 430°! And no more static, it stops flyaways (those shorter hairs that wont behave - they now behave!).

    • @appallett
      @appallett 4 роки тому +2

      Every straightener should work with every type of hair guys..they require some attention for the use and not just a pass et voilà. We care just about the result and the time and that's wrong...

    • @mamaboocee
      @mamaboocee 4 роки тому +5

      @@appallett well, I care about a flat iron yanking out or damaging what precious little hair I have left up front. There is no flatiron I have ever tried (and I have tried many which ended up being a waste of money) that do not snag my hair - especially at the front - and pull it out, or one that I can use at a temp lower than 400° that actually works, let alone in one pass besides this Dyson. I have not got all day to do 6-8 passes on 20+ sections of thick coarse poofy hair. That is why this works for me. My hair is so unruly that I cannot go without straightening it. Otherwise it looks terrible and knots like crazy. People with over processed hair can't afford to fry it any further, too, I imagine. It is expensive, and not do-able for everyone, but for me it is a godsend.

    • @anndam__
      @anndam__ 4 роки тому

      @@mamaboocee There's two types of a flat iron, small for short hair, less hair and natural straight and for the big one is for long thick hair. I used GHD in 2" for 4 years for my medium/thick long hair... it lasted longer!

    • @mamaboocee
      @mamaboocee 4 роки тому +1

      @@anndam__ it doesn't snag your hair? I really liked the Corrale because it gets the very ends, and doesn't splay the hair the further down the section. And I can use it on the lowest heat setting. When I flat ironed my hair everyday using chi or ghd, the high heat really fried it even with heat protection spray. Definitely stick to what works for you, no need to run out and spend a fortune if you don't need to! Yes, I am not happy with the price, but it seemed worth it to have the straightener I always imagined it should be.

    • @anndam__
      @anndam__ 4 роки тому +1

      @@mamaboocee My GHD doesn't, cuz it's 2" small does to mine. I used cheap hair straighter like Walmart, target, winner/HomeSense it does snag. When you used heat protection on your hair, the chemical science is that it protected your hair from damaged and high temp, some heat protection make your hair smell burnt or fired is prob you put to much or the heap protection has a strong smell. Also one of my best friends have similar to GHD is but you can control the heat temp of the flat iron is name Avanti Ultra Nano Silver Ceramic Titanium Iron 1-3/8"AV-CROCC. I used hers before it's good, but for my hair is soo picky if I used a cheap and not strong heat.... my hair doesn't do anything. And remember, take about 3-4 inches of your hair and iron it and don't go too fast, take it the medium speed and you will see. If you had used Chi and GHD, wait for 2-5 mins to heat up and used it. From watching review more, the reason why this Dyson flat iron is "special" cuz of the blade inside that's been cut out by the center... and not at the end... it's kinda not quite TBH. Also, the outside of this flat iron is SO BIG you can't go near the roots of someone with medium/thick hair or very course curly black hair. The purpose why it somewhat worked for her, its cuz she let the flat iron hold her curl and go down slow... I've seen it before. Like hairstyles finished blow dry your hair and start flat iron your hair.. .they used slow/medium speed.

    The reason i went for the Dyson airwrap was to minimize damage to my hair, as it styles with air and heat rather than direct heat.
    I don't see how this straightener would be 50% less damage than a regular flat iron?? Is it only because you go over the strands less frequently?

      Zainab Am yes, but it’s also the actual metal on the plates and the way the blades “corrale” each section. I explain how you use lower heat settings than you normally would because you don’t need the higher heat. You really don’t. It’s pretty efficient in just one pass..some pieces I did 2.

    been using the Limited Edition Rose Gold ghd Hair Straightener since 2014, literally everyday. i bring it with me in all of my travels, definitely dropped it numerous times, some areas have colors chipped off, but still working fine till today. its half the price of this dyson straightener when i bought it before (or less, i dont remember). ive been hesitant on buying dyson products as their product is not travel friendly in terms of voltage as compared to ghd products. although i read that this straightener is universal voltage, yet i cant see anything special in it to replace my ghd. the cordless feature for me is not that of an advantage if its not smaller in size or lighter. still considering as it has not arrived in Ph yet, but boy its expensive

    does it make your hair as flat as a normal flat iron? I rarely flat iron and more often curl because I hate super flat hair. I love a blow out though. I currently have the airwrap and might return it for the blow dryer and corrale instead. I wanted a more voluminous, natural look, and to save time. My hair doesn't seem to be holding curl with the airwrap, however (maybe I'm doing it wrong) and the curls are a bit overdone. I also don't seem to save any more time than i would drying and then styling.
    What are your thoughts on having either the airwrap complete or the dryer/corrale combo? Looking for speed and a more "natural" look

    • @GiselaMGPereira
      @GiselaMGPereira 4 роки тому

      With a corrale, if you want a more natural and loose style, you have to use it by styling the direction of the hair and at the same time have the dexterity to position the corrale (there are already several tutorials).
      Because if you just use this flatiron in the descent of the hair length, you will get a very smooth straightening, in a kardashian style for example.
      The airwrap is multifaceted, and with the brushes the straightening is natural and more voluminous
      To hold the curls you must give a jet of cold air (2 or 3 seconds) before removing the roller. Hold the bunch and release gently, spraying is optional. Does all hair the same way and does not move anymore. When leaving the house, run your fingers through the curls to loosen, give movement and a natural look. There are several tutorials on this channel. In my opinion, if you want volume, natural style and speed, airwrap is possibly the best option

      @@Itssharpay31 I don't really think it provide less heat damage. the reason is simple: heat is what damage the hair.
      this flat iron goes way hight in temperature so it is in fact more damaging.
      it doesn't matter if you take two pass at a lower temperature or just one at a highter temperature. at the end the damage is the same.
      you can say a flat iron is less demaging when you can take just one pass at a relative low temperature and it doesn't need a second or a third one.

      If you cannot live without straightening or curling almost every day, this is worth it. It curls, it straightens, it does not snag your hair, it keeps heat damage at bay. The snagging is my major complaint with any other straightener. Not getting every hair right to the end and static also annoy me big time. None of that with the Dyson Corrale! Every little detail is addressed and implemented. This thing is what I think a curling/flat iron should always have been. It works for EVERY type of hair. My hair is so unruly - it looks like cotton candy even after I blow it dry with a paddle or straightening brush. This tool takes straightening from 1 1/2 hours down to 15 minutes on my long hair (frizzy, course, thick and almost waist lenght hair). It straightens to the very ends, makes it silky, shiny and soft. And no snagging and yanking. From every other flat iron I have lost hair right at my forehead hairline (and everywhere else on my head!). This has not snagged, not once - and that is one of my main complaints. Every other flatiron never gets the ends - and leaves otherwise silky hair with "fluffy and flyaway" ends. Even those shorter hairs mixed in with the long ones - the Corrale addresses and corrects that. EVERY HAIR IS STRAIGHTENED, SMOOTH, SOFT AND SHINY! Not crunchy or staticky. Not one hair out of place! Try it out, at least at a store with a good return policy. You will not want to give this amazing tool up once you have tried it. Let us know if you do try it. Yes, some say its heavy, but with one pass per section, you will not be holding it for long! Compare five to six passes on any other straightener that still won't straighten to every end - OR - using one pass per section that does it all at the lowest temp! I always had to have the hottest temp (430°) to get any result. Now I use the LOWEST temp on the Corrale. Using the lowest temp gives you longer use per charge. You do not have to squeeze the plates shut (if you do squeeze it depletes battery faster because it constantly checks and regulates the temp, no squeezing is less reason for it to adjust the temp! so no squeezing, no need to). Also, the hair stays between the plates where you put it - no hairs slide out the sides! I can't say enough good things about this!! Watch all the reviews about it, like I did. It helped me decide to get it! 😁🎀

      In my experience with the Airwrap brush so far, it smooths out my long hair while keeping the volume, but the ends remain kinda frayed and results don't last very long. Whereas a flat iron straightens until the ends and lasts longer but reduces volume a little.
      HOWEVER, if you only need one or two passes with a regular flat iron on a lower heat setting to achieve the look you'd like, then I don't think this Dyson is worth it. If you're someone who requires several passes on the highest heat, then maaaaybe this is worth it.
      I'm still going to test it once its released here in John Lewis UK.

    • @mamaboocee
      @mamaboocee 4 роки тому +1

      @@zainabam5517 if you watch some of the Dyson how-to video, they show you how to get some volume, but maybe not enough? A blow dryer brush like the revlon - or the Dyson blowdryer with the comb attachment might give volume and smoothing at the roots, while you can straighten the ends with the Dyson Corrale. The last thing I need is volume, so you are probably right! I am glad to get rid of some of it!
