Hi Minh, really nice use of the GT2 belt. Slightly off topic, but, how do you think this would work with a router? A 10mm wide GT2 belt with Nema 23 or even 34, to drive a full sheet machine seems possible, and cheap?!

I found out later that this setup have a problem with the curtain effects (kinda ripples when using with the laser - check my later video about this) so I will say that it's not very precise. I think I have a solution to fixed it but haven't had time to test yet. Once using the solution to fix it, I'm sure the idea will work for a router like a gear rack and pinion set as long as the linear rails are fully supported and sturdy.

Hi Minh! Nice design even if as you pointed out, there's room for improvements. Why didn't you use a metal holder for the laser block itself in order to dissipate heat easily?

That of course would be better. I just tried to make a design that can be milled easily with the 3018 cnc so more people can actually make it. Replacing the parts with aluminum plates will be another step to improve the machine. It just takes more time and not easy with the original 3018 cnc. There are sure plenty of room for improvements 😀
