  • In 1966, Steve Ellis (vocals), Maurice Bacon (drums), Morgan Fisher (keyboards), Ian Miller (guitar) and Warwick Rose (bass) formed the band "Soul Survivors". As there was already a US band of the same name, they changed their name to "The Love Affair".
Their single "Everlasting Love" (1967) went to No. 1 in the UK charts. The song had already been released in the USA by Robert Knight. Several more hits followed, such as "A Day Without Love" or "Rainbow Valley" (both 1968) as well as "Bringing On Back The Good Times" (1969). In 1970 the band broke up again. Singer Steve Ellis had other band projects with "Ellis", "The Widowmakers" and later "Steve Ellis's Love Affair".
Spotlight was a music programme for young people broadcast by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF) between 1968 and 1978. It was the equivalent of Beat Club or Musikladen in Germany. In the very first episode, presenter Peter Rapp travelled to London to explore the music scene there. He met the band "The Love Affair" at the Madame Tussauds wax museum.
