I’m an old geezer who likes chainsaws and watch several “chainsaw” UA-camrs but I’ve been learning so much from you! I appreciate your information, lack of bs, great camera views and overall production and you articulate so well! Much appreciated. Bud G from Nebraska.
Finally someone who want to know why it went wrong instead of only wanting to know what wrong. Good Job brother 🇨🇱👍
Watched multiple videos of yours, after buying a New Redmax commercial trimmer/brushcutter - at $400 out the door - whenever my 14 year old Redmax of the Same type, would no longer had enough power to be useable... (and, was hard to start, due to the clutch not completely disengaging) Well, I’m happy to say, I am now the Proud owner, of Two great Redmax trimmer/brushcutters - Found the running issue, was a Very clogged spark arrestor, which I pulled until I have time to clean it... And, found the clutch shoe pivot points to be Dry and Rusty - Simply, generously lubricated with Royal Purple Spray Lubricant, worked them till they free’d up, sopped up the little excess lube, and put it all back together... Runs, and works, like new...!!!
Hey Jeremy
I think you’re correct when you say a lot of mechanics would replace the worn parts without diagnosing the root cause. That’s really good advice.
Could you explain what a short block repair is vs a top end repair?
Cheers
Definitely cooked. It's truly amazing that it started and ran at all
I think you're the most professional knowledgeable most experienced small engine mechanic on UA-cam. You are so good at explaining it too. Hey you're so good at this you should start you a UA-cam channel showing people how to do it right !! Lol. Oh yeah !! You have. Thanks mowermedic1
Awesome diagnosis video, one of the best I've seen. Nice work.
What a good INFORMATIVE professional video. Thanks mowermedic1
I love the troubleshooting explainations man. Very informative!!! Keep up the great work!
Great video , Never assume that if it runs the mixture is good .
Thanks for sharing. I am like you I can't believe it was still running. great video and explanation Jeremy.
Excellent diagnoses. I am learning something new just about every time I watch one of your videos.
Fantastic diagnose and video - as always. Thanks for sharing
I never would have expected that! Great information, thank you for explaining the troubleshooting process!
Great video, thanks very much!
Appreciate ALL videos, you may see a different or better approach! Or a cool homemade specialty tool.
Another great video,thanks.
Awesome as always!!
You got me motivated to tackle some 2 cycle engines.
best thing to know when having a lawn care business...how to fix your own stuff.
Goes to show Echo is almost indestructible haha
So much damage for just a carb issue!
That was interesting, I only work on my own stuff, but still like the break down of what happened. Which would be more economical long term use? Rebuild or buy a new trimmer?
200 vs 400. It’s a toss up
Donyboy73 said it’s not worth it to rebuild the hedge trimmer
What does it mean when there is scoring on one side of the piston but not the other?
I wonder what the compression was . I always thought it had to be at least 100 to run but it didnt seem to have that when the rope was pulled . Just curious
Great information. What brand is the vacuum: pressure testing unit?
I’ve looked all over and can’t figure it out... I’ve never seen one that does pressure and vacuum like that.

Don’t know where found his but this is what it is.

Nothing like experience to separate the pros from the rest of us.
The MowerMedic1 what do think Husqvarna hedge trimmer? I heard they have a lot of problems with Husqvarna hedge trimmer.
If it’s me I’ll buy new hedge trimmer until that one is fixed and use it for back up
was that dirt in the screen or a tank filter that came apart???
Lol I'd just turn up the idle and call it a day
could it be that the exhaust gases are backing up into the cyl. because the exhaust is partially plugged?
If the vacuum is good, shouldn't it follow that pressure would be good too, since it would be leaking from the same area for both?
That looks like someone accidentally put regular gas in it, rather than 2-cycle mix. (I've seen that all to often!) If the carburetor is indeed lean, it could be that debris got in the gas tank when fueling. No fuel, no oil. That's a BAD thing.
Lean condition air leak
It’s better off to buy brand new hedge trimmer Donyboy73 said it’s not worth it to rebuild the
I wouldnt put that in my mouth, gas has an aweful taste and causes cancer if inhaled.
