Spurgeon knew, when delivering this message, that his health was breaking down. He was preparing to go to Mentone, France, to recouperate. He speaks about God's severe chastening as one who is experiencing it for himself. He warns us, but also encourages us to know the wonderful blessing of closeness to God and healing at His hand.

In my youth, my dad had many of his book with sermons in them. That’s how I found out about Charles Spurgon. He passed of Alzheimers almost 11 years ago. I wish I had those books. I was suppose to get those books of sermons, but a family member told me they were gone when I asked about them. A lot of Biblical Books got gone, when his bookshelf was removed, and that puzzles me. I also still wish I had my piano ( that’s all I’m gonna share ) for God knows.

Sorry you lost a faithfully believing father. How was his spirit near his departure? Alzheimers and dementia are hard. You can maybe run a free ad in your local free trade paper if u have one. When I was on a low budget, I ran an ad and got some used books I needed for my Bible study. Also u know, there's used books online.

I have been save since 2007. And sadly it is still hard for me to understand that God does something GOOD in my suffering.. That you need to go through the door of suffering to enter glory.. To enter even more joy than before..
Since you are saved..it is sure that our gracious God and Savior will continually open your understanding to His truths. He shapes us so we can be effective workers for the works He prepared for us since before He made the world...our Lord's blessings abound in everything..I Peter 4:1-2 and so many places in Word which tell us of this truth...it is all by grace thru faith..which is not of ourselves but of Him...immerse in His Word and constant prayer..

Through our struggles and trials we learn how to be comforters to other people in need. This way we can empathize as well as sympathize with brothers and sisters in the Lord and the world.🙏🏻☮️❤️

@@tyroneplayaz I've prayed about that year 2017. But it didn't work out. I've tried to talk with church elders. Nobody could support me. So either God said NO or NOT NOW.

Don't turn away from him it's not a good idea,
He is your way to break free from your bondage,
I hope you consider him more and more for he is calling you,
If you were lead to hear this don't despise the word of God,
For he is reaching out to you,
Call on Jesus and ask him to come into your heart and save you, believe in him and what he has done,
Believe he suffered, died, was buried and rose again from the dead,
Believe and thou shalt be saved
God's word is foolishness to those who are perishing..
Accusation without proof is sinful slander
