A very good interview Jane Rossington is a very beautiful lady with a beautiful voice and is a great actress my favourite character in Crossroads so very sad she has Alzheimer’s I always think of Jane with love and great affection ❤Xxxx
Jane Rossington always had and STILL has a beautiful speaking voice. She comes across as a lovely genuine down to earth lady in every interview I have ever seen her in.
I am very sad to say that Jane has been diagnosed with Alzheimers. I heard of this last year (2022). Turning to this interview, how snide Wogan was - can you imagine him saying some of the things he did in this interview to a senior cast member of Eastenders?. Who remembers William Smethurst now, except as a run of the mill editor of The Archers - a show that has been a parody of itself for decades now.
Crossroads always reminds me of the early days of my marriage in the late 1970s. It was always on TV when we had our tea after work. Jane Rossington was a class act and played what she comes across has in this interview, a well-spoken and good actress. Who sadly would never fit in to the modern soap opera output, whose scripts often resemble gangster movies.
There's an episode in Coronation Street where Stan Ogden slams the door and the whole wall almost came down. Yet nobody every made mention of when that happened in Coronation Street.
@@rtc9063 yes, it’s not fair that Crossroads got the bad press when the Street had as many mishaps if not more. There was an agenda against Crossroads, they were always threatened because it got better ratings than the Street at one period.
Episode 1 of Corrie, Dennis and Elsie Tanner come down stairs, Dennis opens the living room door and the walls part. And the famous camera that hit the back of Pat Phoenix in the Rovers
Confused Terry? It's JANE Rossington, not JILL. Jill was the character she played. And he almost said Noel Edmonds, but thankfully Jane Rossington talked over him. Jeez.

That was delightful. Thanks.
What a lovely interview. Jill is one of my favourite characters and Jane always seems so down to earth. A genuine lady
Nice interview and Jane was very good in her recollections of the show. How many people are this well spoken now ?

If you watch Coronation Street episodes of the 70s, the sets are shaking. For some reason, they thought they were a cut above everyone in the north.

Terry's comment re axings is ironic. Isn't that how he found out Eldorado was replacing his chat show?

She appeared later as cousin Jill in Brookside in 2000, presumably the same character.
Sad that Jane has Alzheimers now😪
Jane got her facts wrong. When Marilyn Gates married Peter Hope Sue Nicolls was not playing Marilyn.
Nadine Hanwell even
There is a wedding pic with sue nicholls as marilyn
