After an accident in 2011, I was left with no way to withstand the impact of many forms of exercise. Rowing was the answer! in August 2020 I bought a Concept2. I have rowed over 1,100,000 meters, and I'm down 50 pounds. I love your videos; keep 'em coming.

60 year old started rowing every day for 10-20 minutes on an Oxford 6 with your beginners videos. Thank you for explaining it all in great detail!

I could not have started on this journey without Shane's videos. He's the best coach and after only 4 weeks of rowing 50,000 metres (with proper form) I'm addicted.

I decided a couple months ago that I was really sick and tired of being overweight. I wanted to do something about it, so I started going to the gym 5 times/week. A little bit of cardio and weight training, plus a quick ab workout from a Crossfit champion.
I had always been interested in rowing, because I knew it was a good full body workout, but I had no experience with it.
Found Dark Horse on a UA-cam search and it's been hugely helpful!

I'm 6 days into rowing & loving it. Actually looking forward to working out. I haven't been this passionate about an activity since I last stepped off a soccer field some 20 years ago. I was underweight my entire life until about 4 years ago. Boom. What everyone always told me happened....weight gain. But I'm to the point now where I'm over where my pregnancy weight was with my first child. With a beer belly. And I'm hating it. Rowing is my release, my happy place. Whatever weight loss/belly loss comes of it is a mental gain. Thank you for your videos. The term, "dark horse" is deeper than just a workout video to me.

I have bought a low budget rowing machine some years ago. I have tried to approach the machine and usually would stop trying to row on regular basis because of lack of confidence and understanding in what I am doing with the machine. Your videos helped a lot. I am rowing now for a couple of weeks along to your videos and I absolutely love the process. So thank you so much for your videos and helping to learn how to work out. Thank you!

Success in loosing weight is not just a weight number on the bathroom scale. Newly created muscle mass will distort that weight number. A reduction in body fat percentage should be the term used and goal for most people "trying to loose weight." Fitness, whole of body muscle strength, and vitally won't appear on the bathroom scale, but they are what will truly drive up self-confidence and self-perseption.

I've been using your 20 minute workout for beginners. I sure feel like i've gone from zero to potential hero. I think my daughter who has been rowing for a couple years is impressed even thought she would NEVER admit it!

Another great video Shane, my shiny new Concept 2 rowerg arrived 5 days ago. Your videos are FAB! And I’ve tied out 4 different sessions so far to gauge where I am after 2 shoulder ops this winter. It’s great to know I’ve got such useful sessions available on tap and I’ll continue now with confidence that I can create good habits and technique. Loved the 30 minute chill out video I tried today.
I’ll definitely be signing up....... looking forward to full fitness again.

Loving this channel mate, I couldn’t run to the concept machine but that’s not holding me back. Completed the 3x4 min impact workout earlier..... said never again but with a big smile on my face when I realised I’d achieved the 1000m goal on each set. Thanks man, I would never have thought it possible that a 56 year old man in recovery could get back into some sort of shape 🙏🙏

First off love you videos, without explaining my situation or what I been through in the past 8 years, does the Yosuda rower give me a full range of motion. I’m going by your recommendation when looking for a rower. I’m 5’8” 310 with a lot of of health issues. Keep on making these videos feeling inspired. Thanks for your time.

Shane, just a note to thank you. Bought the Concept 2, eight weeks in and already much fitter after following your videos (and Austin's on Training Tall!). The drills have helped improve my mechanics massively, and now started on the intermediate videos. Great work.

Zone 2 training on a C2. They say it’s not good on a rower. I have used the rower for cardio. I want to do zone 2 training. My thing is BJJ, Krac & lifting.

I have quite a bit of weight to lose, but Having been born with a physical disability that affects the lower back and legs(spina bifida) traditional exercises/weight loss movements are not options that my body can do safely, and my doctor suggested rowing as an option. so, I have been watching your videos to see if I felt it was for me. 👍.

Hello, new follower. Why do you recomend the Mr. Right water rower. Is it just for price. I see the Concept 2 in your videos and Im concerned for the noise level, also there is a waitlist.

Unfortunately I've seen this comment on repeat from many owners of the RW300. I don't know anything about it and it's a shame there aren't better instructions from the company.

I find the display board to be a bit confusing for me. I just want to get on and go. I know I have a lot to learn and hope I can do that with you.

Do something I love? Cooking will not help me to lose weight. I love not sweating.. I DO need to lose weight...so that I can feel better, be stronger, look better, be healthier, play with my grandkids etc. So, rowing is something I can do in my house...even on snowy days. Do I love it? I love getting through the workouts and then not feel like a cripple.
