Helicopters have to push the air down in enough mass to push the mass of the helicopter up so at lower pressures the same volume of air has less mass which means the helicopter would have to move more volume than at sea level.
This is incorrect. Helicopter rotors generate lift in the same way that an airplane wing does using the same differential pressure mechanism. The only difference is that the airflow is created by the rotation of the blade as opposed to the forward movement of an airplane. The only reason that helicopters typically don't operate at the same altitudes is because of the lack of pressurized cabins. Apparently someone did actually manage to land a helicopter on top of everest in 2005.

The reason a helicopter can't fly up there but a plane can, is that the lift coefficient (lift vs weight) is way higher on a moving air plane than it is for the rotors of the helicopter. You could think of it like a helicopter is barely airborne even at max rotor speed in regular air density while the plane at max speed could fly in way thinner atmosphere but is limited by regulation. There is also the you could "fly" (orbit) without atmosphere but planes don't move anywhere close to fast enough to achieve orbital velocity.
I know there were a lot of jokes but the US doesn't disallow dual citizenship and I would HIGHLY recommend not getting rid of that citizenship as long as you are living in Asia. The perks of being an American Citizen when not in America aren't always obvious but it does protect you in a lot more ways than you'd thing if something horrible happens (disasters/war/gov. persecution). Being an American citizen will get you out of a hotspot, or at least a chance, the moment you give that up you lose it.
