as a german this is somewhat of a funny comment to read lol, but it also makes sense cause its the kind of name parents give their kids in memory of their grandparents

it’s interesting that jarvis says he’s not scared of death because he wants to achieve his full potential and there’s no pressure if he’s dead. i feel the exact opposite, where im scared of dying too soon where i haven’t achieved my potential

I relate so much to Jarvis on that. Even just the idea of living to be 80 sounds so exhausting and I'm like, well, if I die, I don't have to keep slogging through life and possibly never reaching any kind of potential

It’s crazy how they talk about feeling unsuccessful at 19 when looking at Mark Zuckerberg, and then I’m over here feeling the same way about the creators I watch, who are all around my age.
I am definitely with you on that. As a highschooler, I have to make sure Im pushing myself to my fullest, which can be very hard to do. I have friends who are the same age as me, but are doing things like creating Face ID Technology through Python, and Going to International Competitions and Scoring superbly on the ACT. It can be hard trying to keep up, and not feel overwhelmed it all.
ludwig's previous debilitating fear of death was actually surprising to hear because ive never really heard someone else who's dealt with that. i have a huge phobia of death and dying that makes navigating life really hard and has caused me develop so much anxiety and agoraphobia as ive gotten older, so it was really nice to hear from someone whose dealt with something similar and has actually overcome it. gives me hope
edit: also, as an undocumented person, i deeply related to jordan just having ideas and then immediately ignoring them because he legally can't do anything with them. there's so many opportunities that i couldn't partake in growing up as a kid because i wasn't a citizen and the disappointment hurt so much every time that ive just learned to stop feeling hope about things because my status has always been and will always be a barrier

Same! And it's one of those things they mentioned like "Doesn't everyone fear dying?" But no, my brain goes OVERDRIVE in trying to avoid it. I'm also just not getting a bit better about agoraphobia after it was worsened by pandemic stuff
@@kells4315i really relate, the pandemic really has taken a big toll on my fear of death and deep anxiety about going outside..it's been SO hard to navigate, esp bc everyone in my circle doesn't have that same deep fear & don't understand when im reluctant to be out doing things with them due to all the anxiety i have. not even just that, but all the mass shootings have terrified me deeply and made my agoraphobia soooo much worse. my husband and i tried to go to the movie theaters a few months ago to test the waters about if we could have a date that wouldn't terrify me and it just sucked bc i could barely pay attention to the movie, all i was thinking about was someone walking in with an assault weapon and hurting us. i was on edge the entire time. and my husband has been so good about accommodating my anxieties but he's had to adjust a lot to not going outside as much as he did before he met me because i have so much anxiety just stepping out of the front door and i have so much guilt about that. i rarely meet people with these same struggles so it's easy to feel like something's wrong with me for feeling this way, so this pod and these replies have helped make me feel less alone

Ludwig saying he liked being in his brain and the places his thoughts go is one of the most wild things because I cannot comprehend that experience. I love that for him, I just feel like it's impossible to imagine
The wild thing is the first step to being alone with your thoughts is to simply observe them, like a chimp going on a rage in a cage.
"This fucking sucks" is a thought that may form in many's minds, and yea, something probably does suck, right? But, literally, just noticing that you formed that thought, and making a habit of noticing how often you have a similar thought, can help curb lines of thinking that may be driving you away from yourself.
oh yea and definitely learn to meditate
meditation is meant to totally occupy your focus for a period in a way that offloads all the crazy patterns going on, it really helps!
I totally feel the whole "i feel like i have gotten more sensitised". I definitely can't handle a lot of things online as I used to.

Jarvis got the lactaid thing a lil bit wrong, milk has a sugar called lactose, and your body is supposed to have an enzyme called lactase that helps break it down, but lactose intolerant people lack this enzyme. Lactaid just adds lactase to milk so your body doesn't need to have it!
I literally learned this like 4 days ago while bored as hell reading my lactose-free milk carton

Jordan I can’t describe how thankful I am to you about your Doctor Strange 2 take. It was genuinely fucking awful and I’m such a huge Marvel fan. Like it was so out of left field and terrible.
Your gut changes when you cut a food out; so, if you quit milk and try to go back, a negative reaction might not be lactose intolerance but just a gut microbiome that's not calibrated to dairy. In addition to lactase tablets, probiotics and papaya enzymes can help with these (everybody's body does not react universally to things; as always, take things slow, talk to a doctor if you can, listen to your body and drink plenty of water).

i like watching react content specifically for reality shows, like jarvis, kenny jd, and gunnar do, because i wouldn't watch them by myself but i cant deny they're incredibly entertaining. it's like watching with a friend on the couch but you don't actually have to be involved.
as a newly lactose intolerant person i really enjoyed the lactaid conversation and honestly i think it improves the gut biome because i’ve felt all-around better since i started taking it.

Not sure if Ludwig went to his doctor for official diagnosis and treatment of a rib fracture, but I'm surprised that there was no mention of any further testing for bone health (vitamin D, calcium, PTH, etc.). It's definitely weird for that amount of force to cause a rib fracture and raises my suspicions for something else going on.

53:20 I wasn't afraid of death my whole life through my teens, 20's (in the Army in Iraq and Afghanistan doing infantry deployments), and up until about a week after my daughter was born when I realized she needed me. I've maintained this same worry for a decade and am thinking once she's 18 or so it will go away. I think a lot of the fear is that she will break down if I'm gone since I'm a single dad.
Alright, new favorite episode. Ludwig may be the most honest and realistic UA-camr out there. I’ve always considered just going forever with content creation and not having an expiration date or retirement plan. Endlessly fascinated by the notion. Great job, Boyz.

The convo about fearing death is super interesting to me. I feel like I did not fear death at all up until I met my now fiancé. As a teen j would literally sneak out and climb through construction sites and climb up to rooftops and stuff. Like I could have died so many times, and that’s not even going into college. But now I’m like… really scared of dying. I don’t even know why. But the thought of not being with my fiancé and not being able to grow old together is so upsetting to me. Don’t even get me started on the idea of him not being here. He made a joke that he’ll probably die first because men statistically live shorter lives than women and I burst into tears because I just can’t cope with the idea of not being together

Excellent episode. I don't find myself watching Ludwig too often, but I do believe he is one of the most levelheaded creators out there as far as his perspective on content creation and streaming itself.

I was around 21 when I was made aware that being aware and terrified of death isn't a normal thing to have to manage at the age of 4. I think that might've fucked me up a bit.

For the record, from a biologist, some people develop lactose intolerance if they go a long time without having dairy and then the body can readjust in the presence of the lactose and learn to digest it again
