Glad to see it wasn’t anything major! I’m really liking those Birds Eye clips of the guys working on the engine it’s amazing what those guys do in such little time 💪
Honestly Clay you took a sport that not a lot of people were interested in cause of the lack of info etc but the fact that you're showing and motivating others and helping the sport it self it's definitely a winning for you and your team
@@nitrochaney1026Being officially ancient, I came up in a time you did n't tell people you were a drag racer. But, what a blast!
My dad use to take me to see these drag cars once a year when I was a kid. When he died I stopped watching until you was on cleats channel you brought me back to the sport. You're a awesome driver and a awesome human. keep doing your thing man!!.
The overhead camera footage is awesome, it really gives you a good idea of the teamwork that has to go into the thrash of rebuilding the engine after each run.
You are "VERIFYING YOUR CLUTCH POSITION" when you have your mirror out, I think you said that in one of your earlier videos. Thanks for being the NHRA Ambassador for your sport Sir Clay 🏁🏁🏁🏁
Thanks for chatting & taking a photo with me. I had not been to an NHRA race in many years and I came out just to see you after seeing so many of your videos. it was a great day and the power and concussion that we felt in the stands as you went by was absolutely thrilling. Good luck today!! Oh - I am the guy that was thanking you for treating that 17-year-old kid so good and riding down down the track with him in his pick up truck a few weeks back in his quarter mile run. You’re a standup guy Clay.
cool to see the guy lean in the car and offer a prayer. unfortunately that type of thing has faded out in the outside world, but awesome to see there are still people in nhra that do it for the drivers even after the opening ceremony one
Great video,Clay. Thanks for taking us subscriber's along for the ride. Your crew is always working to be on top of everything with the motor to all of the dragster. Soon you-all will be in the winners circle, team dedication will prevail. As always Stomp on that loud pedal. ✌️👍🤙🤙😎😁🍀🍀🍀🍀🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
Sounded more crispy in the tone ,maybe a lean condition, or plugged fuel lines or restrictions in line’s, probably check them, good job team Rick Ware racing, clay Millican nation,,,❤thanks BigAl California .
THAT OVERHEAD TIME LAPSE of the crew turning the car around was awesome. As a mechanic, I personally loved it. And would love to see more in the future.
Your extended mirror is for checking clutch disengagement. You don't use a clutch stop. You've explained that many times. I dig it. Its an OG move others don't do as much.
It's probably the "cockpit prayer" that did it but you have a radiant glow about you in this video, Clay ! .. man... watching these videos w/ all the angles we're seeing ... it's a blessing/honor/#joyousoccasionindeed!
I was honored to be able to have that small conversation with you Sunday afternoon in the pits. You are an inspiration not just to up-and-coming racers, but to everyone just trying to succeed in their own life's ventures. Best of luck to you and your team in 2024 and I'll see you again in 2025.
Clay and his prayer! The media award is already done. That was Beautiful! Clay bowed his head and came up with his gloved hands. Everything going on, but he always has time.
Thank you Clay for explaining the burst panels. I asked that question months ago and now we know. Hoping you and team are turning on win lights today. Take Care :)
Eric, you're the greatest.I really appreciate you what you go through and what you explain to Us dummies out here Look forward to the next video.Thank you much
Just lettin' you know I'm still praying for your team, for you of course, & Rick Ware Racing! I'm honored to do so. I believe it was about a year and a half ago that I, without asking, joined your team to pray for y'all. I hope others are inspired to do th0e same. Loved the overhead of the crew at high speed. That was good footage. Like the new format, the music - guitar riff is full of energy & well expressed sass about moving out & getting loud!
Man you guys cannot buy a break on that engine, seems like everything you guys do something ends up going wrong. Just glad she didn't go up in flames. It's going to turn around you guys are going to start going around and around with no work and you're going to start winning. LETS GO !!
I love that you work the clutch like a boss! We all know your looking at the rubbers to make sure you're in N! It's a little too rough in there to feel i guess....

I met Clay when he was in the IHRA at the now defunked Motor city nationals at Milan dragway in Michigan he was piloting Warner enterprise top fuel car promoting the Dukes of Hazzard Movie saw him do a blow over in that race been a huge fan ever since
i can't remember what you are looking at, i think you did mention it to 1320 but i remembered that instead of remembering what it is you are checking old school. :-)
Always wondered what Jess is doing on the right side of the engine during the warm up. Know he's got a procedure he goes through while watching the dash but don't know what he does. Maybe locking down the magnetos? Just a guess. If you could go over what he does in the upcoming Q&A, that would be awesome. Hopefully we'll get a cameo of Iggy & Milli too! Cheers!
I noticed something really cool in your last couple vids. When they shut the car off, they unhook the fuel line and scramble to unscrew the fitting. I noticed recently the blue pull cord wrapped around the nut to spin the nut off the fitting like a pull cord. If I am correct, that is a pretty clever idea. I'm a little jealous I didn't think of it! LOL
Hi Clay. Hey i saw somithing. I wish you would give a close look at. Whrn you showed us the ring that holds in the plug on the fuel barrel i think the clip was in backwards. The sharp or burr side needs to be out. Looked to me like the rounded edge was out. This can cause the snap-ring to come loose. !!! Please double check !!! And stay safe have a great day. Andy
Usually when problems in a general system on a car is repeated it boils down to some kind of change in the program. Could be a personnel change, could be a bad batch of a particular part. Could be changed vender, Could be having to change a brand / style of part due to availability or normal parts. this is surly one of those cases with consistent failures on the top side of that motor. track when the failures started and see what was changed I guarantee you find an answer. I had an issue way when with the plating on some metal. after investigation they found one of the rinse tanks per plating was contaminated and leaving something under the plate that had caused flaking over short time spans.
I can answer the question, when he looks in the mirror, he is looking to see if the wheels are spinning. I think its because if he push the clutch alle the way in, the wheels will spinn, he need to find the sweet spot where they dont spinn.
Hi Clay! I’ve asked this before but it may have gotten overlooked but how come when you guys do the warm up you personally wear a respirator to protect you from the nitro fumes but pretty much no one else does? I’d imagine that nitro fumes are toxic and it just seems weird to me that no one else in your crew cares to take any precautions.
Nice to see that you and the team have seem to have figured out the problem with the motor explosion 👍 that’s great. I have been watching the channel for a while and maybe I just missed it (if you have addressed it) but what does the H on your helmet mean? Or stand for 🤔 like I said if I just missed it direct me to the video and I’ll give it a watch 👍👊. Good luck on race day brother 🤙
Handles to help you get in and out of the car. Not always needed as Clay is pretty agile. If those aren't there and you need something to help push yourself up, the only other thing in that area is the thin body panels, those won't support any weight.
Glad to see it wasn’t anything major! I’m really liking those Birds Eye clips of the guys working on the engine it’s amazing what those guys do in such little time 💪
