If you think this is interesting just remember we have the oculus 3 and 4 to look forward to. With what’s been done so far I can’t wrap my head around what is possible and not at the point but it gets me pumped either way
I love VR, but when 40% of people who use it get motion sick, it's not going to go mainstream. Also they have to continue to reduce the size and increase the comfort, ideally down to about a pair of goggles, if that is possible -- and you have full color pass-through with AR, then at that point it might be something. But I think AR is going to be what hits big - when you can just put on some glasses and get information overlays everywhere, people are going to go nuts for it. But VR, because it needs to fully take up your FOV, I'm not sure it's ever going to fully take off. Also, while motion sickness isn't as bad as it was with, say, Oculus DK1, it's still an issue for most games where you move, and I don't know if there is a solution for it.
I love the desk space in VR HOWEVER they need to add support for non rectangular desks, my desk is a corner desk with a rectangular desk off to the side for a multifunctional gaming/vr/music production workspace. If they just let you draw the desk shape like the guardian space that would be amazing. Maybe once it's out of experimental and into mainstream they'll support this

Works great, however does not seem to work correctly when the virtual environment is set to "passthrough" cant see hands when they are over the keyboard. Or is there a setting I'm missing?
Unfortunately, I just can't use the Quest 2 for that long. I just always seem to have trouble keeping it in focus. I can get it for a bit, but then it loses focus... Tried different IPDs (including the in-between settings), different headbands, etc... I can get it for a bit, but then after using it, it is out of focus again. I am constantly having to re-adjust it. A problem I don't have with my Oculus Go, funnily enough... Still hoping I'll find a solution for that. If they didn't already increase the J and F key bumps you can do this manually with a bit of glue. This helps you find where your hands should be on the keys.

I know it wouldn't work as good, but it'd be cool if you could use the guardian system to highlight the area just around your keyboard, then you could use the cameras to have it overlaid like your hands
Good evening Mike I think is a very cool concept but, that sets headsets have to be more comfortable before people will start working in VR. I the question for you could you play a game like doom which was originally for mouse and keyboard with the keyboard? Have a good evening Mike.
Great stuff on recording all the footage. I tried to record showing off the keyboard but a bunch of stuff doesn't show up in the native recording feature. The tracking of the keyboard is pretty horrific, way worse than hands are tracked, it's not too much of a worry except if the keyboard was on your lap, not a flat, stationary surface. The trackpad is also really hard to use for things like two finger scrolling and using the touchpad to click works about 30% of the time. Typing however is actually really easy & accurate, more so than I would have thought would be possible even just in passthrough mode. Using the browser with multiple windows is pretty useful, being able to resize the browser windows horizontally is handy but I wish I could move the windows wherever I wanted, being able to stack them on top of one another would be very useful as I kept having to turn my neck more than what is naturally comfortable when using all 3 browser windows. Now if only Logitech actually had stock of the K830 internationally available so people could actually buy one and try it for themselves...
Nice! Another fun fact: There's My Little Pony references in the computer room - those who know them will notice immediately :) - when I first saw it, I thought "Oh, really? Can't be!", then I went up close and was like "Yeah, really!" :D Such details are great and I guess there's so much more...
Looks great, I was trying to use he Immers version of this, but... knock your keyboard and the tracking is lost. Question tho... Does this automatically replace anywhere i oculus you might need to type? Like logins on the web or basically any app that is using the standard oculus keyboard? For example, the ready player me concept for creating an avatar offsite be being able to bring it into other VR worls, kinda falls down based on the long URL you have to use. If ANY VR app could hook into this API and use the logitech keyboard... we would definitely be talking...
Does it work with VR games? For example typing in global chat in Elite Dangerous with the overlay? It's a pain having to just feel around trying to find the J and F keys.
I would expect that the web versions of MS Office would be an excellent choice here since all your documents would still be shared via OneDrive (or using the Google versions of same).

When ur so early comments are 95 : well better then 1k
When ur so late comments are 1k : well better then early 95
Me on 95 : 🤣🤣🤣😆😆
Thanks.
Try my program Keytulle. It shows transparent keyboard image right above the text you type.
Got my K830 keyboard for cheap for less than $15. But I can't seem to get the keyboard to appear virtually. Anyone got this problem?
Are you on update V28? []-)
Fun fact. The Virtual Desktop apartment's city skybox is Chicago!
Ah nice one! I was thinking it was Seattle for some reason?? []-)
@@VirtualRealityOasis I only know it because I live here. It was a neat little thing to see the same skyline in VR and out of it!
Nice! Another fun fact: There's My Little Pony references in the computer room - those who know them will notice immediately :) - when I first saw it, I thought "Oh, really? Can't be!", then I went up close and was like "Yeah, really!" :D
Such details are great and I guess there's so much more...
Please tell me you're in the Zenith Alpha this week, I'd love to run around with you! :D
Immersed has supported keyboard and hand tracking since quest 1
