Great video mate. Climb over the wooden gate at 10:51 and follow straight up the hill mate, you sit on top of a mound looking way over the fence!!! A kind police officer once showed me the way, then he drove past on the other side of the perimeter fence and gave us a wave! Happy spotting
I remember going with my grandad as well. The bit that you walked to through the fields, that’s the one I remember going to. I’d love to go and watch some planes again some day they just put me in awe.
@@kaigray5964 I've done a video on that location mate haha. They have extended the dual runway operations now, more planes over the duration of the day.
I know exactly how you feel, there used to be a great viewing lounge in Birmingham but it was closed down, you can stand near the runway at Birmingham, but now there's 2 fences instead of 1 and part of the area is blocked off. I've been going since I was a boy, 35 years. That new building looks like a really stupid idea, why didn't they set it back further?
I’m sad that you couldn’t get to the Southside place . If you keep walking down the path you will eventually come to a gate . There is a walkway that goes to some sort of thing where you step over and then your next to the runway
Type in woodend lane, knutsford. I went there today. It’s fantastic when planes are landing 05R. Plenty of parking however, it’s a bit muddy and you will struggle with a pram. No shops or toilets just country side. Tesco meal deal, flask and chair required
Thanks Mate! I've been there though lol, i did a vlog on it. ua-cam.com/video/5iwOcS-SoU4/v-deo.html I've got an even better place & its super easy to get to. Unreal. Think i may vlog that. I think im going to do another update on the Runway park soon and explain what Premiair actually is. We'll see how busy i am.
Deady 2012 great video but shame you had to climb the steep grass to the wrong location, as a road near the fence leads from Heald Green area to that location after passing some cottages despite some walking required along the fence to the place you were before but is a grassed area there near Rw23L end, where you can watch over the fence. Bad weather is the big issue and I suggest you to visit the local pub near Rw23R end to spend a day out with your lovely family. Hope this helps you. Stay safe.
You see we have been to the same places just different times. I took the first load to the redevelopment of the viewing park earlier this year, i put a little thing on here of my dog plane spotting through nearside window. As far as i understand your baggage from the posh terminal still goes through the normal channel but you get taken to the aircraft in a chauffeur driven limo'. That's according to one of the guy's on site. You were making good videos even back then.
No i've not mate, i'm currently saving for a decent camera to use whilst planespotting. Then i'm going to travel around spotting. East Mids, Schipol or Dublin i think is going to be first on my list lol.
You have to pay, it's a rip off. But if it's locked you can park in an entrance to a builders yard just before the AVP. Its free and i've never seen it used. If that fails there is a small section of road just before the gates, where there is no yellow line, it's beside a tree, you can also park there free.
what they should do at the airport if they lose all the aviation visitors to the other side of the airfield because of the private terminal then they should purchase more land on the other side and put these buildings and old aircraft over on the other side and have the permanent aviation Park there that way everyone gets to see everything although its further away, but its uninterrupted views, then they will get all their visitors back
Stop charging so much for parking also! That would help! I think it's just gone ridiculous now. The cost for a day out to the AVP is about £50+ with kids. When you can go closer to the aeroplanes on the other side for free.... Mental
Unfortunately as with everything in this world money speaks volumes and the premiair is not just for private jets but "ordinary " too and you can get an lounge experience for 175 quid return. Much better return on money than the 5 quid people pay for 2 hours. But what angers me is the disrespect shown to plane enthusiasts who have put money into the coffers for years . The views are terrible now. Head over to their Google page and give a one star review to show ur displeasure
Thanks for the comment. I'm thinking of going back tomorrow and doing an update to see what's going on. I've been going over the other side of the runway recently to see what it's like & to be fair, it's miles better. I think id like to experience this Premiair though from the sound of it. But i do agree that it's completely taking the biscuit out of enthusiasts that's carried the place from opening.
@@Deady2012 I went a couple of days ago it's coming on a lot but there's no extra mounds. The cafe I got a cake from for 3.50 and it was disgusting. That area is blocked because they are building a new VIP Terminal building. But don't worry they are now making NEW mounds for the future.
I Hope so mate!
Thanks for the info!
We can live in hope.

Good job, thought I might need to introduce the use of "stilts".

They have ruined plane spotting at rvp especially as they removed the mound which was great for spotting aircraft
Completely agree mate. Hopefully they will put one or both of them back after construction.
@@Deady2012 They prob won't and the best place to go now is runway 23l on the south side and yet aircraft don't operate on that runway until moring

Really enjoy watching your channel. Keep up the good work 👍
Awesome, thank you!
The Airport Pub is a good place to view planes, too.
Go to the other with side. You have to climb over fence but it kw free and you can see the whole runway and landing

The concorde building was built around it
It's called progress, progressively worse for aviation enthusiasts.
No mention of Moss Lane Public footpath runs Parallel with the runway
Didn't know it was called that, my bad.
