I completely agree. I can’t afford to be throwing away my high end makeup so I have a lot of palettes that have been discontinued like the UD original naked palette and some too faced & tarte.
I don't mind limited/discontinued products being used! My heart actually breaks when creators declutter something they love because they got it into their head that they can't use it on their channel anymore. The only caveat I would recommend is that, when you use it, be very descriptive of its color/tone/finish so people who would like a dupe of it will have an easier time finding one. Great video!

It also inspires me to get my old stuff out or use something else from that brand. I think it’s a mistake to leave something out because it’s discontinued when most of the time viewers are using similar things to recreate looks and not exact products!
I think you should use products that you’re wanting to use even if they’re not available! I hate seeing people get rid of products they like because they’re not available because it seems so wasteful. Allie, don´t forget that most people probably have "older" products that were discontinued or limited edition, so it can be actually be very useful and interesting for us to see content creators use those sometimes 🤗 We get that there are tons of new products being released and you have to review them and focus on them for some time but then there are so, so many new products being released that "normal" consumers cannot keep up with that or afford it. So I hope that you continue using older or discontinued products in your videos from time to time ☺

I think that “Using makeup I forgot about” is a great idea for a video series. First, I am sure I am not alone when I say that I enjoy seeing any makeup look you come up with and truly look forward to each and every one of your uploads. Second, it gives you the opportunity to revisit and reuse all of your makeup purchases not just the newest items whether you purchase them as well or receive them in PR. Third, it motivates us all to also dip back into our collections and that you do not always have to be buying the newest item to have fun with makeup … not that there is anything wrong with that, I myself am guilty of doing the same I just simply mean to say it’s refreshing when an influencer such as yourself can give us a bit of both worlds.
Using discontinued products is awesome for us because we all have things that might be similar. I know you get gifted or buy new stuff all the time, but it just gives us inspiration to not be wasteful and use what we have. It’s so fun to see the “new” old. ❤

So I did this as a new year resolution- but have just had a bad reaction, I think because one of them must have been slightly expired. Such a shame, but has made me throw out everything to be on the safe side. And not to let makeup pile up/get forgotten about in the future.

Hi Allie I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that Huda eyeshadow palette, it is so versatile. When I first bought it the pale purpley/pink/lilac shimmer (in the middle of the top row) scared me to death and I never used it, but then one day .. when I was feeling bold .. I used it and immediately fell in love with it. I use it all the time with other palette combos, it is just so beautiful and not at all scary!!!

Smells of products are so interesting. I love lip products if they are a bit fruity smelling because it reminds me of when Bonne Bell Lipsmackers came out when I was 8 years old. I’m 55 now 😊. L’Oréal lipstick has a perfume scent and I can’t use them because I hate the smell. So funny!

I’d love to see you use discontinued products, even a full face if discontinued products. It encourages me to use what I have, get creative and find something in my own collection to do the same thing. Makeup is made to be used up, it’s a good reminder to be grateful for what I have. To be very mindful about what and how much I buy.
I don't mind seeing discontinued products! Some of us might still have some of it, ourselves. I have quite a few Becca highlighters, blushes, bronzer and face palettes, and it's exciting to see someone use it - it kind of re-inspires to pull them out again! Even if they (the discontinued products) shown were things I don't/never owned, I can always find a similar color in my collection to recreate a look!

why have i never thought to do this i have the huda palette too, and i bought it because of your recommendation ,i used it non-stop for a hot minute then took it out of circulation for a bit, but i never thought to use both the maeuve and brown and layer them together, i always used them both separatley as a crease shade..i love the pinky brown shade they made together, i can't wait to do this the next time i do my makeup
I don’t mind seeing discontinued products because the reason we are all here is our love of make up❤.. With that being said, we too forget about products that we have which we haven’t used in a while. Therefore, when you pull them out it reminds us of how much we love them too….
I love shop my stash and using old products videos! It helps me rediscover stuff that I love in my own stash: so old, discontinued-bring it on!! I want to get use out of my things.

I think there are so many makeup products now that it’s hard to keep up and so using older products makes it more a chance that someone has what you are using, emphasizes you don’t need to buy new stuff to get a particular look, and let’s face it… people are watching your videos because you’re awesome and they enjoy “spending time”with you… it doesn’t matter what you are putting on your face! We just want to feel out with you about makeup! another great video! XO!

Yes! Sometimes I get limited edition things based on UA-cam reviews, and then never see people use them again 💔 I love to see how other people use things, especially when I have them too, and sometimes I need ideas/inspiration for them

lol allie 🥰i have the bronzer too and still love all my becca stuff even though they went out of business...also theres a good chance that we have some or most of the discontinued products because let's be honest all of us watching beauty influencers have more makeup than we need...we're a well knit group of makeup addicts😂

I’d love to see you use discontinued products, even a full face if discontinued products. It encourages me to use what I have, get creative and find something in my own collection to do the same thing. Makeup is made to be used up, it’s a good reminder to be grateful for what I have. To be very mindful about what and how much I buy.

I have quite a few Becca highlighters, blushes, bronzer and face palettes, and it's exciting to see someone use it - it kind of re-inspires to pull them out again!
Even if they (the discontinued products) shown were things I don't/never owned, I can always find a similar color in my collection to recreate a look!

why have i never thought to do this i have the huda palette too, and i bought it because of your recommendation ,i used it non-stop for a hot minute then took it out of circulation for a bit, but i never thought to use both the maeuve and brown and layer them together, i always used them both separatley as a crease shade..i love the pinky brown shade they made together, i can't wait to do this the next time i do my makeup

With that being said, we too forget about products that we have which we haven’t used in a while.
Therefore, when you pull them out it reminds us of how much we love them too….
I love shop my stash and using old products videos! It helps me rediscover stuff that I love in my own stash: so old, discontinued-bring it on!! I want to get use out of my things.

I think there are so many makeup products now that it’s hard to keep up and so using older products makes it more a chance that someone has what you are using, emphasizes you don’t need to buy new stuff to get a particular look, and let’s face it… people are watching your videos because you’re awesome and they enjoy “spending time”with you… it doesn’t matter what you are putting on your face! We just want to feel out with you about makeup! another great video! XO!

It would be awesome if you did a discontinued makeup video, and for each item give a recommendation of a similar product (or dupe) that's not discontinued. This allows viewers who have the discontinued products, and those who don't, to recreate your look :)
Yes! Sometimes I get limited edition things based on UA-cam reviews, and then never see people use them again 💔 I love to see how other people use things, especially when I have them too, and sometimes I need ideas/inspiration for them
