Good morning from North of Boston. Sneaking a quick peek from work ladies room. Will have to wait until lunch to watch later
You ladies are so amazing to the knitting community. You are such understanding of everyone personal knitting needs.
Thanks for this fun episode. You have been part of my knitting community for years. I had a knitting goal for my vacation and met most of it. It was to finish off 2 sweaters that were each 1/2 done, make 3 pair fingerless gloves, make a hat, knit 4 pairs of socks. I am home and can say I was only 3 socks off! My goal is to get rid of my wips. I'm looking forward to your knit-alongs. I have a sweater just begun along with some socks to submit.
Just visited my Mum in Calgary from Australia, was so sad that 2 yarn shops have closed through Covid 😢. I did, however, love Stash and Pudding Yarn. I bought some unspun Canadian Yarn at Stash and am very excited to knit something soon for our upcoming winter.❤
Tracie and Jodi thank you so much for the Wavy Gravy love and support!!! I’m sorry I missed you live but getting caught up now!!! Jodi that combo is so juicy and so fabulous whatever you decide to knit with it will be extra special! 💕 💕
I just finished a pair of socks with Kroy. I was able to go up a needle size and down to 56 stitches instead of 64 and they fit perfectly and faster to knit. The solids are definitely thicker than the patterned yarn.
I believe the shiftigan sweater is not slipped stitches because of the cutting, she redesigned it with stranded colorwork
Thank you so much for the shoutout and for showing off Always Be Kind Yarn! We ❤ love Laura and all of her yarn.
JODIE!! 🎉🎉 Frankie Gray has knocked it completely out of the park!!❤
Thank you both of you for taking the time! You Girls are the best!
Awww Jodi, I wish we could trade kitty sitting! We have a diabetic baby so it’s hard to find care. You are awesome to take kitties for your friend! Happy birthday to your husband!! Thank you both for all you bring to the knitting community :)🎉
I love how real these ladies are, I think that is really rare on social media. Come here when I need some realness.
I don’t even knit (beginner crochet person🙋♀️). But am a new subscriber. You ladies are great!!
Latisse has been the best for me. I’m 72 and about 7 years ago I was struggling when trying to apply mascara. Kept thinking it was the fault of the mascara so tried several expensive ones, but then realized that my once-long eyelashes were short and stubby. Thanks menopause! I got a prescription for Latisse, used it every night, and within 2 months there was a remarkable change. My lashes were long again, and I actually could feel them! I started using mascara again (and had to get used to how that felt). I love having my long lashes back. They’re not thick, they never were, but they’re definitely the length they were when I was young.
All I have to say is you guys are amazing and so inspiring! Thank you so much.
Love watching you guys...
Perfect day to watch the sisters, its our first snow day in Nova Scotia! Knitting, spinning and the GG's ! The HH fibre is too much, I can't even! The spinners I know love spinning to such an extent! It brings us so much joy.
Frankie Gray colors are truly amazing...I cant wait to finish what's on my needles- to start planning with those lovely colors! You both make me laugh, wonderful personalities, and so thankful for your fun podcasts.
Good morning from Calgary. Warmer weather today.
Thanks Jodi and Tracie for another enjoyable podcast! Until next time Happy Knitting to all!
You two are simply THE BEST! Thank you for being REAL!
I think the shiftigan pattern is stranded colorwork, not slipped, stitches. Andrea Mowry discusses this pattern on her recent Q and A podcast.
Frankie Grey is unhinged!!! Incredible color pallet, I’m super impressed and inspired!
Happy birthday everyone!
Again a very inspiring episode. So nice to see you with Manchelopis: I love knitting with unspun yarn. I have made a Ranunculus with Nutiden from Honerocheir and I am knitting a High Peak sweater right now with Manchelopis, it is so much fun knitting with these unspun yarns.
My goal is just to make more garments for myself this year just so that I can enhance my wardrobe. You ladies make laugh and bring inspiration. Thank you for that..when I retire in a few weeks I get to watch you live 🤩🧶🧶🧶
Hey GG ladies and fellow knitters ❤. You were talking about having lots of single skeins- what i do is split the skein double up the yarn and make dk/worsted faded sweaters from that stash. I find simple classic patterns. The city Limit Sweater by Tanis fiber arts is what got me into this. I made that sweater and realized i could go stash diving and take this technique into other patterns. Also i will buy a single skein of a yarn from an online shop that i want to make into a sweater ( i do this if i haven’t purchased that colorway before because monitor and colors), i may not like the color for a full sweater but it has always worked for me in the faded technique. Hopefully this is helpful for sweater knitters and those like me who have plenty of single skeins in their stash. Happy knitting xoxo Tonya
I love Calgary. Used to live there 38 years ago.
The lash serum I have used for years is called Lashmd by Grande lash. I tried several before trying this one. It's a game changer for me and no irritation. Within a month I noticed a significant difference
Necklines today - very flattering. Your podcast is always amazing. Thank you.
The lash serum absolutely works ! I use the Grande Lash-MD. I get so many compliments.
Thanks for another enjoyable video😂 Jodi your Frankie grey fibers are amazing! We all wish for a yarn fairy. ❤
Just ordered the Neons and Neutrals book from your shop. I can’t wait! Thanks for offering it.
OMG Saving the Manor is awesome! Thanks for the recommendation!
Buy the rulers ❤ also great for stitching.
I’ve been wanting to knit a sweater! So excited for the knitalong. Also I knit 17 pairs of socks this year but forgot to enter a pair into the December FO thread!🤦🏻♀️
Hello from Western Australia 🇦🇺 730 am and it's 86F
Omg! The eyelash conversation had me laughing so loud my husband came into the room! 🤣
Good Sunday afternoon. I enjoyed watching this afternoon. You two are the best. A lovely long podcast, with wide ranging topics, great projects, beautiful yarn, encouragement for everyone, awareness of budgets, and some hilarious beauty tips or maybe what not to do! Love the color palette for your yarn 💛. I want to join the KAL(s), but I am in a major knitting slump….so time will tell. I have trouble getting anything done, and need to work on my attitude. You always give me a lift, thanks 💛
so much fun - thank you! Jeff's sweater is beautiful!
One of my very favorite podcasts!
You always wear the most beautiful jumpers. I want to make them all...
Oh man Tracie!!!!! I can’t wait to see what you do with that beautiful blush sparkle and the yarns… I hate to influence you any way but I would love the to see what you do with the Suri 😁❤️❤️either way … whatever you decide I am sure it will be beautiful 🤩
Lots of nice shopping down by stash to.
Love love love the long episodes. Boot cuffs will never be the same again😂😜😝💋❤️🇦🇺
I have an Autumn League Pullover started and languishing in the raglan increases… perfect timing to get my arse in gear!! Thanks sisters!!
That fiber! It's gorgeous! I bought an inexpensive espinner and it is so addicting.
Good morning from Morristown, Tennessee!
Great episode again ladies ❤ Thank you. Jody, can’t wait to try your wool 🤗🤗
Tracie, definitely start spinning!! You’ll love it!!
The Andrea Mowry Shiftigan is not slip stitches. This sweater is stranded colorwork because the mosiac color work didn't work well for steeking.
Tanis' Skylights sweater is similar construction to this (Raglan + cabling in the front middle). I loved it.
another fun and enjoyable episode ❤ The Frankie Grey palette is awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
LADIES!! The lashes! My sisters use you-nique brand false lashes. They are MAGNETIC, reusable lashes. You apple a magnetic eyeliner and just set the lashes on. They stick solid and look fabulous! Peel off and reuse. Worth a try and way better than gluing lashes to other parts of your body. 😂
I have purchased from Amazon the EYE LASH SERUM by VIE BEAUTY. $28.99. It is amazing. Twice a day for 6 weeks then only at night. I never had any irritation. Used it on my one eyebrow that was getting a little sparse. That worked too. Lash’s also curl. My friends that have not been successful haven’t used it with the frequency so that it works. I will be using this the rest of my life. You will see results in 6 weeks.
Another great episode. Yarn, I love it all.
Loving your podcast. Ragland s are all beautiful. Thank you
Tracie you so need to make a allover Fairisle sweater.
I am fairly new to knitting and loving creating my partner one using J&S and Spindrift. I am using the Raga pattern by Violet McQuade but totally playing with the colours. So far I have almost doubled the colour palette. 😊
I just found your site. I watch on Sundays. Ginny from Dayton Ohio.
I actually work for X-Rite/Pantone and my daughter’s name is Magenta. Her comment when I told her it was the color of the year was “About time”. Hah!
I’m watching late. I knit a musselburgh hat with the Gauge Love is Love color way. It turned out really well.
Jodie I laugh out loud during Abbott!!! Watch it!!!!😂
I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to knit a sample for you Jodie!
Tracie, that Sounder yarn would be a beautiful Saturday Shrug!
I love that pink/gold HHF fiber!
YOU HAVE TO USE BABELASH SERUM. I’ve been using it for 7 years and it WORKS
OMG, I think I could die for the Hedgehog spinning fibre, so very incredible beautiful, an it is screaming ”Marieeeeeeeeeeee 🎉✨✨✨. I was going to order it as soon as I saw it, but it isn’t on their website… 😢
Thank you for yet another great episode ❤️
I'd LOVE to meet you both in person, please come to Lamb & Kid soon! Bainbridge Island has so much to share and see. xo
Hi guys! If you are talking about Whidbey Island Beach Front Bargain Hunt show, I was the real estate agent on it. I wonder who else was watching this episode from Whidbey? Hello fellow islander! Hello Grociery Girls
FYI I saw someone talking about the shiftigan the other day and they mentioned it is stranded colourwork and not slip-stitches like the other shifty patterns(maybe because of the steeking🤷♀️). I don’t have the pattern myself but I wanted to let you know just in case you really wanted the slip stitches so you can check it out. 😘
I just went to Etsy for Mind the Gap and got the message that Royal Mail is not shipping to the U.S. right now
I would really love to see a sock cranking video and how you take that tube and make it into a finished sock. I want to pull the trigger on a Dean and Bean but I just don’t know..
Instead of a lash serum i used castor oil in the past ans it was amazing! I know it sound strange but it work very well for me!
JODI!!! Boot what?!! 😂😂😂 lmao on public transit!
I love all the color choices with Frankie Grey Fibres! I have the website up now, checking out the details. I joined the KAL for a raglan sweater, this should be fun & hopefully I'll crank out a sweater on a deadline. This will be my first ever KAL. How about some pics from that gorgeous area where you all live. I've never been there but it must be beautiful every day there. Those headaches from caffeine withdrawal are some of the worst you can have. I can't handle the amount of caffeine in coffee, I love the flavor and the initial fabulous high, but then on the other side of that comes the impatience, the hair trigger, general irritability, and I get to the point I can't think of anything nice to say to anyone including close friends. Once I figured out my issue was the caffeine, I stopped coffee and stuck to decaf always.
I literally glued my eyelashes to my face too 😅😅
If you are going to travel as far as Canmore, why not plan a slight diversion to Cochrane, and visit the WolfDog sanctuary, My wife and Sister-in-law got me the WolfDog Experience for XMAS when we came over from OZ, Was one of the most AWESOME gifts i have ever had. Missing Canadian XMAS’ - one day ill get to see you ladies LIVE
I wondered what size needle to use for patrons kroy, I use 1.25 for regular fingering sock yarn
I used a US 3 on the pairs I have knit. I am very happy with them.
Tracie your sweater your wearing super cute! & must have in my life! How easy to knit ? what is the yarn? And do you sell the yarn? I have knitt n crochet but been a while I would say I’m a beginner just hats n gloves scarfs only , thank you both for your videos and I enjoy very much
On a recent episode, Andrea Mowry said that the Shiftigan is stranded colorwork, not slip stitches bc the latter can’t be steeked.
that's how we wear our boots here in Australia 🤣🤣🤣 "put on yer boots, cu.t" 🤣🤣🤣gotta buy me some of that yarn!!
I missed you guys! I was entertaining. I'm so disappointed! 💖💖💖 catching up now!
OMGoodness those hedgehogs 😍😍😍 I fell in love with your last? Podcast where you showed your Gnome of the year and just had to get one… AND the sewing gnome . 😅 I just received them… so beautiful but a real sticker shock for my husband when he had to pay the extra import fees with UPS. it would have been cheaper to drive to Maine to pick them up 😂😂 But… can’t wait to make them for my mantle 💗 I justified the purchase with my stash busting for almost everyone at Christmas 🤓
Sorry if I missed it on another episode, but can you explain how you do the folded cuff please.
Use a long straight pin for putting the glue on the lashes Jodi.
Jodi, I'm still waiting for the Wednesday hat. I was born on a Wednesday so I'll love to get it.
Metropolis is a bulky raglan by Tanis fiber arts and it’s free!
Does the knitted fabric break apart as easily as the pencil roving does in your hands?
You put a neck tag in the sweater you are knitting already? Love the cables, btw
I'm surprised you both can wear only one layer of sweater at this time of year. I live in NY and always wear a long sleeved tee or turtleneck under my sweaters. I've never made a hand knit sweater though, only socks, hats & shawls. Is that what makes the difference ? I'm always cold in winter.
Here in Australia I wear double layers in winter because the houses are not made for winter. I just visited Calgary and hardly wore any of the sweaters I packed because the indoor heating!
I save all my scraps for making art yarn. Lots from weaving
You are women after my own heart.😂😮❤❤❤
hi girls im in australia visiting vancouer soon is there anywhere to buy yarn there it is probably a lot cheaper there
❤️🇨🇦❤️
Late, coffee with you. Thanks!
looking for my 1st sweater pattern
The GGirls recommended Joji Locatelii’s super simple summer sweater for a first sweater. I knit it and enjoyed the process, wear it often
I've never knitted a sweater and would love to make one. Unfortunately due to illness, I had the leave my job so I can't afford expensive yarn. I am sensitive to some yarn and I get extremely itchy. Can someone suggest an inexpensive nonitchy yarn, please? Thank you.
I buy yarn from charity shops and mills and get great deals. I find some polyester blends to be less itchy or cotton
Patons is pretty affordable if you are ok with wool!
Omg 3 hours!!!!
Btw I love Ziggity Zaggity!!! You might be on to something with this name Jodi! 😆🤩
Hi ladies DISCLAIMER that Trailing Clouds ETSY shop does NOT ship to the United States. 😮
Hi ladies. Ill respond to your question about eyelash serum.
I used Revitalash for a couple of years. My lashes grew and I loved how they looked until my lashes went through a shed cycle approximately. Every 90 days. Then there were gaps in my lashes and theywere very short and uneven.
I finally tried Latisee. It was AMAZING! Longer lashes without the 90 day fallout. The only reason I stopped using Matisse is my husband was going through cancer treatment and I cut out all extra spending. Then we moved to the south. I would use Matisse attain in a heartbeat.
