    Wouldn't it be cheaper for you to find a small warehouse to ALL of your stuff consolidated into one spot. It would be a whole lot easier keeping track of and you would be able to put like minded items together. Could be a cheaper option. I love the idea for the purge .

    • @LockerNuts

      Unfortunately, not here. We live in such an expensive area, starting warehouses go for $700k to $800k for less space than my 4 units combined. I look all the time, but no deals to be had. I kick myself for not being able to buy one a few years ago, when interest rates were so low.

    In my very humble opinion your "Purge" is a sound idea. I am 73 now but I always followed the philosophy that I could make better money buying and reselling rather than letting someone else do that for me in any other form - working for somebody else or through savings and investments. I am now living on my own surrounded by piles of reselling stock. My health is not as good as it was when I was younger and I get tired so quick! Luckily have a U.K. State pension and a a.all private one from working as a nurse to meet most of my living expenses. You are thinking ahead and I think you are right and very wise to do so. Very best wishes, Roger.

    Have been watching you guys over a year and LOVE your new idea!! I was born in 1970 also and was pretty much pushed into early retirement due to cancer. Been doing a lot with my retirement account to earn big money to live on without decreasing my account balance (along with reselling). Very wise of you guys and love the content ❤ Blessings to your entire family 🙏

    As for the horse tack, get pictures printed with prices, take copies to farm stores ie: Rural King, Bomgards etc. Most farm stirs have a “for sale board”

    My hubby and I are 66, started in basic funds in our 30's have a paid off house and 1M+ in the bank. Key is time, start Roth IRAs for each girl and encourage them to NOT TOUCH IT. There are growth tables that can show the girls how a few thousand each year for 10 years can grow, get them started well.

    Jack, great video! It’s made me realize that lots of stuff I’ve put away to sell later on when it’s worth more could be doing more for me if invested. I’m in my early 60’s and have been increasingly been putting more away in 401K. Time for me to purge some but I’m not sure how I’d get the best return on my investment on certain items. I’ve used eBay before so I’m familiar with it. Gonna take some planning on my part. Thanks again! Thought I’d dislike this one but the mix was well done and it’s made me think about my stuff! Keep ‘em coming!

    The best investment you can make is in your kids! Get them running an Ebay store! They can be selling books or DVDs or even clothing. I know people will say invest in their schooling but I'm looking at so many friends from school and they aren't using their degrees. I have 2 teen boys and really warn them about higher education. It is great if you are going to use it but most pick a career with no exp. You are only 2 people you can only sell so much.

    • @kristenyurek4490
      @kristenyurek4490 20 днів тому

      I agree!! Invest time in your kids...the dividends in terms of relationships are priceless! Our boys are 18 and 20 and we homeschooled. One graduated a year early and the other 2 years early. Unless someone knows 100% that they need higher education it's a waste of time and money. Not to mention the leftist liberal indoctrination that happens. One son decided to work full-time until he decided what to do and has been making pretty decent wages. He's in the process of figuring out what to do next as there's no advancement opportunities. Our other son worked for 2 years as a pool tech, learned the business, and now has his own business and 1099s for another pool company. It's grown so fast he had to hire another 1099 worker. They're both hard workers and enjoy it. My husband and I are both entrepreneurs and self-employed...can't imagine working for someone else. You have to get out there and hustle....that's the American dream!😊

    Remember that the state gets a BIG chunk of that 110K. Factor that in for sure. You talk about retirement and investment. Need to decice. If retirement make sure you put your money in a ROTH IRA (tax free after retirement). If an investment account there will be taxes whenever you take money out (for rental or retirement). Don't rush into something without talking to your Accountant first.

    I should start by saying luv your videos and grateful that you are feeling better and a good clear out is great for body and soul. "stuff" doesn`t always go up in value over time it just becomes old - for me rather than looking at what something might be worth versus what it cost when new I would keep in mind what it cost you to purchase ( and include your time and effort). Not sure if it is the same in America but in the UK we have a cost of living crisis at the moment so people don`t have the disposable income to spend. All that glitters isn`t gold but what goes around comes around. Look at all the people you have helped on your journey...stay well. Bank some time with your family....

I started investing in the stock market since age 20 and have taught my daughter what I learned. Fidelity (my choice) is an amazing company and their staff are decent and so helpful. Retired unofficially in 2016 and officially in 2023. Been downsizing all along and every time I sell something, it feels so good. Wishing you great success with your goals! Love you guys!

    The purge is a great idea. I'd hire someone to take a solid inventory of everything you have. Look into barcoders so that you can easily keep track of everything you have (and save typing it all in).
    With your volume of inventory, would setting up an online shop of some kind be a good idea over ebay and auctions? Plus it would put all your inventory in one place for people to find it. Then advertise at all the upcoming conventions and on popular UA-cam channels associated with your inventory.
    It would streamline your focus to one platform at least and allow you to customize your backend to your needs and workflow. Not telling you what to do, just offering options... Auctioning all that off will mean a lot of long hours.

I like the formate that Jebus has as they set up the stuff they get a unit and then sell on what not the next week , they post what is going up before the auction starts and people can bid ahead of time. Check out his organization method they sell like 80-90 units at each auction.

    I agree it is time to purge as when your paying out for storage there comes a time you start losing value.

    O wow, I was wondering about the past locker items you had stored and I’m thinking you are smart to be getting rid of it. There’s some of items I’d love to have but income and storage are my main issues. May God bless you in this endeavor and I pray the stocks do well. The uncertainty of the economy is worrisome but we all have to remember God is in control and only He knows the future. Hugs for the Chestnut family.

    Jack !! Help me purge!!! I have FOURTEEN units, Two are 80" x 120' with sixteen foot tall racks I put up by myself without lift. 9 K a month. My thing is taxes and not getting any younger. I keep trying to consolidate units but now they are so packed I have no isles in the middle of units. I made promise to not bring anything home that comes from units to avoid critters and bugs.Hiring people only want freebies. What would you suggest. Flea market is two hours away and you need employees to watch while you are being diverted..???????

      How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!😅 Start small. Grab a few boxes and separate into garage sale and eBay. What doesn't sell set aside for the flea market. Keep going until you have enough for a garage sale. I bet you would be surprised at how much income is sitting there. Good luck!

    Love it! Wow thats a lot of stuff. I thought your garage had a lot of stuff. Just trying to be brutal in my own home and reduce the "stuff" its funny how in your own home you can become attached to things you never use. If I lived in the US near you I would have all kinds of things to add to your stuff. Lol Can't wait to see you sell and reduce and combine these lockers.

      Funny you say this. I have learned so much from Jack. I'm purging. I'm donating 90% of it. It's not worth my time, or I would have done it long ago. Feels good.

      @@lindaswanson9328 I'm donating pretty much everything as well. I just don't feel up to trying to sell things. When I get to clean out collectables, movies and music I may try to sell. Right now just purging unused household items and clothing. Did sell my golf clubs but to a friend so only asked her for about 1/8 of what I likely could have asked but hey they will get used now and not collect dust.

    I agree with a purge. I agree with the person who suggested to buy a small warehouse. You would pay less for usage of warehouse than paying rental of storage units. Good luck

    • @LockerNuts
      @LockerNuts  20 днів тому

      Not true in this area. Starting price for a warehouse is $700k-$800k with a space smaller than my 4 units combined. I live in a very expensive area of the U.S. If I lived somewhere cheaper, rent would also be a fraction of what it is here.
