    Coming spring in a couple of weeks, this inspires me to get out regardless of unpredictable weather and get a jump on the season! Thanks and great video! Written as I sit drinking coffee watching the rain pouring down .... 😉

    Forecast drives me mad when it is wrong and looks like those pegs earned their corn and I think the last time I watched Coronation Street was in the 1960s lol. I think you made the right decision to drop to the car early, in the lull in the weather, especially as you were wide awake and a nice warm bed at home is awaiting, cheers Alan

      The pegs are excellent, bit bulky but a must if you want to camp in windy conditions. My parents took me to the original Corrie set at the Granada studios when I was a nipper, loved it since 😂

    I think one this we have had to get use yo in the Uk is even with rain just press through. Lol you aren’t going to melt and if you are always looking for clear weather you won’t ever do much!

    Great hike and views there Robin. It’s amazing how you can drop a few metres and it’s as if there was no wind at all! The Helm and those delta pegs looked like they could handle a lot worse! Stay safe. ATB Anthony 👍👍👍

      I know what you mean, there was a dog poo bag dumped next to it before. 😡 Water was boiled or filtered for that reason as there's not much else available water wise, unless you carry it in.

      @@WalkWithWallace with all the horses, sheep, coos and dog poo I'd rather carry the water in. I'll have to sleep up there sometime. I'm on those hills a lot. Love them. I've been there in snow, wind, rain, sun, in the dark etc but never slept there

    Ah Robin, you gave me a much needed laugh! “I realised it was a lighthouse” “Corrie”😂. Those delta pegs are awesome aren’t they? 👏We’re lucky we have a box from large family tents of old (after a particular occasion packing up a bell tent and three small kids at 2am in a Durness hurricane 😂😂), so use them with the backpacking tents now👍. Haven’t come up with a better storage solution either - tend to tie them onto the outside of a pack (or shove in Osprey stretchy external pocket) too.

      The pegs are excellent, just give you that reassurance your tent is secure. They weren't originally aimed at backpacking tents either. I'd worry they'd damage the pouch in my Osprey, so I'll need to find a better solution.

      @@WalkWithWallace I tend to wrap them in my waterproof trousers for protection. Or put them inside the ‘pocket’ of a small folded piece of tyvek (that I can carry as a sort of ‘kitchen surface)’.

      Hi Neeman, it was a great tent but I needed something lighter for the CWT so I sold it to fund the Tarptent Notch.

    Nice vid 👍 looks little blowy there mate. I don't mind camping in the rain. It's the setting up and packing up in it I don't like...lol
    On a bike trip last year I got caught in heavy rain. It started about an hour after I set up and lasted all the night and the following day until about 10.00 pm.

      I know what you mean, I don't mind setting up in the rain so much. But packing away wet tents is a ball ache.

    Was interested to see how your Helm 1 compact performs in wind because I have the Helm 2 Compact, Seemed to do well. I also always take out 4 Deltas, great pegs maybe the best

      If the Helm Compact was about 500-700g lighter, it would be the ultimate tent. But at £140 you can't complain.
      The Deltas are good, but I like the 9" Easton pegs too for most trips.

      We are indeed, the numbers have dropped, but we're still getting starlings daily, they've almost lost their baby feathers.

    Those forecasts have been all over the spot lately Robin , nice cheeky little camp cracking views over the big E . yeah those deltas are great but not easy to pack away lol . looks like I had my last camp a few back and now cant get out wed night as we will be in lockdown down here thursday morn 😂😂😂atb Dave

      I noticed that, confidence is low half the time. ☔ ☀ 🌨.
      Yeah, I'm in level 3 up here and asked not to travel out of my council area (East Lothian). Which still gives me a bit to play with for nights out. 🤔
      Someone apparently makes bags for the Deltas, a tip off in the comments section on here...

    Good stuff Robin. Plenty of good walks up that way and looks like the tent was perfect for the conditions. I've got a Trisar 2 and it does the job as well. I'm terms of storing the delta pegs check out Lucy Quinton on uk wild camping gear for sale as she is selling homemade storage bags specially made for delta pegs - I bought one and they are excellent quality made from hilleberg ground sheet.

It works the same as a normal mic, you plug it into the GoPro adapter, and the receiver clips into the coldshoe mount where your original mic would have went. You get up to 7 hours use from one charge.

    I've tried those freeze-dried meals......personally they have all the allure of paper mache (without any seasoning,not joking èìthèŕ)..real food beats all comers... easily.!!!!

      I know what you mean. Some are better than others, I have had some really bad ones. If you put too much water in them it spoils them too. Bla Band are actually decent.
