I think she did get good backing, she worked with yashraj, Dharma productions, tseries, zee films etc. Top directors like Rohit Shetty, Divakar Bannerjee also worked with her.
But her list of back to back flops is just too long like Meri pyari Bindu, Jabariya Jodi, Namestey england, Unchai, The girl on the train, Tiranga etc.
These back to back flop were obviously going to affect her career.
No many films came just luck favour nahi kiya..luck matters in this industry more films in dhrma and yrf she done

I think she is good at PR. I felt she did get her credit, when she was doing good work like ishqzaade, ladies vs Ricky bahl, Hasee to phase, Sandeep aur pinky faraar etc
But then many of her films also flopped like meri pyari Bindu, namaste england, jabariya Jodi, the girl on train, Unchai etc. Their back to back failure added with the pandemic and no new films was going to be a set back for her career.

Parineeti sings and acts well. Have always loved her movies but felt for a long time that she lived in Priyanka’s shadow. So glad she is coming into her own . She is a sweetheart. Congrats on the marriage and here’s wishing you meatier roles which show your acting. Chops!
My fav film of parineeti is shuddh desi romance....i just love that film i still love to watch it....i think parineeti and sushant's chemistry and their acting made that film even more beautiful

The fact is , you either has to be a nope baby or ultra rich like kiara or ranveer, Deepika etc. Basically some privilege will make a huge advantage in Bollywood. And if you're from a small town, from a normal family , it will be a tougher road for you. I really admire Parineeti for starting from scratch and still not giving up.
Not that there's anything wrong to be in a privileged position. But fact is that parineeti didn't really have to scratch from start. She comes from a well tondo family, she's highly educated. Even her sister is a big successful actor.
@RY-xk7wp highly educated in other field, not acting. And how much can a cousin support? You can't even compare the amount of facilities kiara , alia have vs her. Money matters a lot, backing matters a lot. I'm not blaming them, they are great actors and credit must be given to their hard work and talent but my point is opportunities are not equal for everyone, bias is there.
@@ssk43000 it has always been an unequal world and will always be. Even u and i enjoy some privileges which many others don't. But one shouldn't blame their failures on others, it won't help anyway.
Priyanka may not have produced any film for her. But being related to her does help her get a foot inside the industry. Plus she got films from top production houses like YRF, Dharma productions, T series, Zee films, Balaji films.
But ultimately they can only back someone if the actor is a bankable actor. Even Arjun Kapoor who isn't a bankable actor is not getting films from YRF, Dharma productions, T Series etc.
Same with Sonam Kapoor as well. Privilege can only last so long.
Like these two actors, Parineeti too has given way too many flop films. That's the reason that audience is not excited about her films anymore.
@RY-xk7wp yes you're right. I'm not blaming the privileged. It's not their fault and very few can actually make the most of it for sure, like Alia. But the kind of support and unconditional backing few of the insiders get is really really too much. Like look at Sara Ali Khan, she is such a bad actor, but she gets so many opportunities for no reason at all.
My point is a lot of big projects do not even reach beyond the A listers , they get the first right of choosing, and if they are not available, then only other able stars are considered. While it's proved to be profitable in case of male A listers, sadly, female actors are very much interchangeable at the moment. Aisa koi bhi nahi hai female star, jiske naam par hi 200crore ka buisness hoga, and still best opportunities go straight to them.

She was also not very popular in those years. During that time Katrina, Sonakshi, Priyanka, Deepika were dominating. Parineeti was never a very popular or mainstream heroine in her entire career till now.
It’s all about the decision ….. sometimes talent hides with wrong choices

Shes actually a great actress! I never knew why she didnt do more movies she was amazing in chamkila!! Also she is wayyy better then shraddha ananaya sara suhana the newer lot, i mean she is way beyond them i hope she gets better opportunities! If she was in half the movies the newer lot was in am sure it wouldve been hits ! Sara the nepoo and suhana have no acting talent!!!

A lot of excitement when she joined Bollywood but she didn’t make a mark, she’s esha deol 2.0 more known for her famous relatives, I wish her well🙏🏼 but she just does not have the star quality but I’m hopeful she might prove us all wrong

She is obviously a very good actress. She is intelligent and looks nice. Also a talented singer. But in Chamkila, I did not connect to her portrayal of Amarjot. It was difficult to understand why there was such a connect between Chamkila and her. What "was" the chemistry because they overcame many odds to come together. Somehow the motivation of a chamkila is something we understand. But what is the psychology of Amarjot? What in her background has shaped her personality. What is her personality. It was presented very superficially. For e.g. it is indicated that she is shy which Parineeti plays by being quiet with her nose buried in a book. That is so unsatisfying. That doesn't explain why she sings at a high pitch or 'lewd' songs with a Robust loud voice, which is so contrary to a shy person! This story is a tragedy of 2 stars. Not merely chamkila. But we kind of get a better idea of the core of Chamkila...not of Amarjot. And this is not Parineeti's fault. It's the way her role was etched. I can agree, that given that constraint, she has done her best. I guess I am disappointed, because I was so curious about Amarjot, but I did not understand Amarjot's mind.

a dialogue from this celebrated film - not everyone has the position in life to discern between correct/not correct. The same can be said about the many actors that are compelled do the PR properly. Maybe they don't have the position /option in life to just focus on work ignoring the correct PR. PR, publicity cliques etc are very well documented in this industry. Its foolish to try to get into the industry thinking talent will win over all else.

Shows how shallow the hindi film industry is that people are shocked when someone tries to get into a character...I thought actors are supposed to act rather than be a clothes horse. Also her opportunity cost was very low given that she did not have any options.

Her performance in Chamkila was not that good. She couldn't bring the jovial nature of Amarjot. Amarjot had a jovial nature and always had a smile on her face while singing. Parineeti, you are actually a pathetic actress.
