If I didn't take thyroid medication, I would be almost bed-ridden from horribly severe lower back pain & swelling. ... I would also die from constipation. 😟
Dr. Childs, I've osteoarthritis, fibromayalgia, and food allergies. I wonder whether my Celiac disease is the reason why I've Hashimotos? I can gain weight even without having enough calories. I don't have cold intolerance, but I've extreme heat intolerance instead🤥. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism back in 2000, but with changes in my diet I was okay until 2015, when thyroiditis forced me to take Levo to this day (now 88 mcg). But ever since I have had the symptoms of both hypo (extreme cold intolerance) and all the symptoms of hyperthyroidism combined, including steady weight loss. The endocrinologist said my body is confused, or maybe he is. How is it possible to be constantly enduring hyper and hypo symptoms?
i think you can do that fareal because i have symptoms of hypo and hyper and i think i have hypo but see i have weight loss and they say the weight loss is hyper they say hypo u gain weight so something is going on waco in my body
it is because when the thyroid is being attacked by antibodies (in thyroiditis) the thyroid hormones will spill over in excess and cause hyperthyroid symptoms. this happens in the initial stage of hashimotos thyroiditis.
my thyroid was ok until i went through an extreme stressful situation i was handling minds but after that situation it got all messed up i swear i wish i could go back before the stress but im working on it because i believe the less stress the better the thyroid i know i did it
Dr. Childs, my doctor says my complaints (fatigue, wt gain, cold intolerance, constipation, difficulty concentrating, muscle and joint pain) are not due to my desiccated thyroid med being too low, but rather she says it is because I take too much b12. I have had variations surgery 35 years ago, my grandfather died from pernicious anemia, so I have been taking b12 injections of cyanocobalamin 3-4 times a month for 10 years. For about 5 months now my muscle and joint pain have been unbearable, often making walking difficult. I have had 3 people I was close to who have passed in the last 8 months also, so the stress is high. I take selenium, d3, K2,Mg, and b12 subcutaneously. I feel I have never been on the optimum dose of my compounded natural thyroid med as there are no doctors in my city familiar with non synthroid treatments and were very afraid of using anything else.
What about pain ? Thyroid pain ? I have had high thyrois AB's for years., Muscle pain for years, Terrible fatigue for years. Two weeks post viral upper resp infection I get pain in my thyroid plus weird "reax' to foods and meds, plus other random symptoms like my immune system is going haywire. Pain in throat pretty bad for 3 months now. No diagnosis. Going to Endochrinologist. I think I have had painful post thyroiditis but cannot get a definitive diagnosis. Thyroid inflamed on ultra sound. Told to take Iodine but react to the Iodine and feel worse. Painful to talk. To do anything really. Its awful. I hope it resolves soon but who knows.
I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism at the age of 15. No doctor I have had over the years have explained to me what exactly hypothyroidism is and what it can cause. Thank you for your videos and education. I wish I knew what caused mine and this information while growing up. I still can't regulate mine and have so many health issues because they can't regulate mine. It's so frustrating
You are a God's bless 🙏...I just got stomach ulcer agggain after I thought I was completely cured of! I got it in 2017 and last summer then" healed" now again. I have vvvery high TSH and started treating my hypothyroidism with25mg Levothyroxine( which is doing literally nothing). Today I spent the whole day searching can this stomach ulcer related to hypothyroidism? I saw ur video and felt seriously super happy. You gave me hope that I can heal from all my weird different unrelated symptoms as I was thinking. I swear to God whenever I search for something, ur video pops up and answer my question! I'm speechless! Thank you from my heart!🙏
For what it's worth, I was on a modestly high dose of a proton pump inhibitor for GERD for over a year and also had to avoid coffee, certain spicy food, and large meals to prevent significant symptoms. I was able to discontinue the PPI and eat/drink regularly after 2 months on a thyroid replacement hormone, although that medication isn't without its own issues.
I have silent Gerd but I take Betaine HCL which helped but now I have a weird feeling coming up in my mouth which feels like it's numbing my mouth and lips! I really don't know what to do or what it is. My doc doesn't have a clue only writing prescription for it.
Is acanthosis nigricans connected to hypothyroidism? I have tried EVERYTHING over the years and it refuses to go away! What do I do? I have even lost a substantial amount of weight and it is still there.
A lot of folks in your comment sections seem to struggle with not responding to medicine, although I've been struggling with over and under responding to Tirosint. Been on it over 6 weeks (for Hashi's) so my levels should be stable, yet a few days a week I'm having palpitations, tachycardia, sweating, & agitation at 10:30pm & 3am. If not at those times, it happens following a meal. I'm extremely exhausted most of time otherwise, so I don't think my dose is too high. (TSH is still mildly elevated, T3 & T4 are in the lab ranges.) Have you heard of this combination of symptoms with this timing? Or are you aware of any mention of this in a study? Or is there some plausible mechanism of action that you think would lead to this? Thanks as always for the content & info!
This sounds like a nighttime histamine release! I think you should look into histamine intolerance. And T4 is well documented as being ineffective. Not all thyroid medication is effective, and must people do not take the effective medications.
I had all of these EXCEPT #1 had all symptoms mentioned, 6 years later I was diagnosed with psoriasis, psoriatic arthritis, spondylitis. I was told the rapid weight gain of 3-5 pounds a month when I could barely eat was my age.
I am supposed to have hyperthyroidism but lately I’ve been gaining significantly a lot of weight and my neck is all swollen doesn’t hurt but I feel like I’ve been strangled every time I look down or put my hands up why is it ?
When home testing for uric acid levels I found that when my TSH was high so was my uric acid. I knew my thyroid was slowing down as caffeine consumption went up, my gut slowed down and my uric acid went up. I could never convince one doctor that they were connected. He would just run a TSH and if it was Haigh run it again a few months later usually by then it was back to just under five so we did nothing.
@@Sirie7206 No. I have been cutting back when I feel good but when I get slow nothing gets done. Stuff has to get done so then I am back at the coffee pot.

How do I maintain excellent health without a functioning thyroid? I take 75 mcg Synthroid. What replacement med should I take that doesn't contain 'lactose'.
Has anyone had an intolerance to berberine? I have a sore tongue and itchy throat/pallet, I’ve only tried it a few times. It seems like it happens an hour after taking it and gets better a couple of days later.
Thank you for assuring to me that I'm not crazy or imagining things🥲 doctors kept telling me everything is fine since lab tests said that, untill my whole body crashed now. I knew that I was right and nobody believed me and I didn't care coz I trust myself and how I feel. But honestly, there were moments when I suspected myself too since there was no lab evidence to what I was complaining about! This video is a therapy. I got tears watching it! I feel a lot of hope!
