- Winter clothes from second hand shop are more affordable sometimes. These shops are called Kirpputori or Kirppis in Finnish language.
Someone needs to really invest in warm clothing because temperetures can be extremly low.

Another thing to consider is that people mostly don't have unlimited storage space at home.
People, some anyway, have learned that it's best not to be hoarding things you don't actually use. They take valuable space and you probably don't even remember having them or couldn't find them, if you someday would need them.
Homes are expensive and storage rooms aren't so cheap either. Better to sell, recycle or give away than paying the expense of keeping items just because you think that possibly sometimes they might be needed.
It's definitely true that having growing children in a climate with different seasons and therefore the need to be always updating the selection of their clothing is a challenge. But as you have discovered there has always been some recycling systems to avoid having to get new clothes unnecessarily.
So this hasn't been such a problem as one could think.
The bigger problem is fashion. Childrens and teenagers fashion especially. That makes the situation much more difficult.
And then there is the lower quality of contemporary new clothes. They are so price optimized that often they don't last more than a season of use.
Consumers have been waking to see this. Many have changed their ways to try to buy better quality and more lasting clothing.
As you where advertising Lahti as a shopping destination, I started to expect you to say something about Luhta.
We are heading there. Its present in my list👌👌. Was just doing second hand shops here. Your comments are highly appreciated
