I love that you misnamed Havant "Vacant"!
Just about perfectly describes the town centre nowadays!

Just after the war Dittman and Malpas were in a small shop in Lake rd. Portsmouth after having been bombed out of the Commercial Rd. shop. The shop in Lake Rd. was purely seeds, and to go in you were confronted with the walls jast a mass of small drawers containing seeds, etc. One would buy these seeds in ounces and were put into a small paper packet for your convenience. Lsrger seeds like peas and beans obviously went in larger packets. Then Lake Road was demolished and the shop appeared in Havant. mid sixties or early seventies, I really can`t remember the exacy date, but I really miss them.
At 1.06 Cleeves Garage, now my workshop.

Very interesting. I remember Michael Edwards as school photograper when I attended Trosnant Junior school in the 50's. He drove around in a little black vintage Austin car. Many thanks.

Today is our 57th Wedding anniversary and you took our photos. Also my Gran Mrs Charman lived in the house where Dorothy Marshall had her studio, Miss Marshall was also my Godmother. Spent a lot of my school holidays at my Grans.

44:00: West Street Arcade. A splendid place full of small and fledgling businesses. As a boy I was also nobbled for cycling along it by the local PC Plod on my way home from choir practice at St Faith‘s.
