- Hey guys! Welcome to Part 1 of 2 of my journey between Pittsburgh, PA and New York City, NY in the air and on the rails! This portion is the flying part and I'm onboard a United Express E175 operated by Republic Airways over to Newark Liberty International Airport. If you've been watching my videos for a while now, you'll probably know I'm a fan of Republic, and this flight is why. Very nice crew, on time/early departure & arrival, nice clean planes, good boarding process (although it's up to the legacy airline), free IFE, WiFi, and drinks handed out. I also feel like when I step onboard a Republic flight, it's gonna be a good experience (99% of the time). I tried out United's Economy Plus option on this flight in the first row of the section and let me just say...there's no doubt it has more legroom than First Class seats. PLENTY of room for my two sticks. This particular day was also super clear and was a very smooth flight making for an even better experience. Hope you guys enjoy!

Whats the difference between express airlines and normal
Example: United Express and United
It’s essentially a regional subsidiary that fly on behalf of the main air line
Most airlines have expressjets which are smaller aircraft such as E145, E175, CRJ, etc.
Love KEWR, I am flying to EWR in March from KSLC, are you ever gonna fly to Salt Lake City intl because it has its new airport that is nice but love your videos thejazzguy13

I love your videos! And I have been flying as cabin crew for Republic Airways for 16 months.. I flew 12 years for American Trans Air from 1990-2002….I love working for Republic, and I am glad you agree we are a great operation!!

Every time I go through EWR I always seem to get stuck at one of those lower level gates at the end of the concourse with no windows 😂

Again a good full flight vid. I think due to the pandemic and the emptyness of this flight you can't expect a full service with food and a beverages. It's a pity but one can survive it. 🙂

@@thejazzguy13 i heard in the 1990s PIT was a booming US Airways hub until they moved to PHL and there was a demand for a terminal both land and airside and the landside terminal i heard got demolished

As an employee of UAL - one of my favorite planes to “non-rev” on is the E170/175. Very spacious, no middle seats, and rarely any gate check bags. Row seven is often the best even more than first class when it comes to legroom, And if it came down to having those two seats were you sat with no partner or sitting next to somebody in first class I would rather take where you had been sitting any day
I would like to see Republic Airlines do a retro paint job on one or more of their aircraft with Herman the duck on the tail. That is what was on the original Republic Airlines planes. Republic Airlines was formed when North Central and Southern Airways merged in the late 70's. They flew lots of DC-9's and Convair 580's back then. Republic was gobbled up my North West Airlines in the mid 80's.
I realize Republic Airways is NOT United Airlines but seeing that UA does have a full drink service on mainline jets, one would think Republic would keep the UA brand going by offering such a service--must be really weird to wake up in your bed in Pittsburgh--hours later finding yourself on the streets of Manhattan, not terribly familiar with your immediate geography, your senses on overload, nothing comparable to home

You should upgrade sometime to First class on your flights just like cokecansandwinglets, QFS Aviation, itripreport, and theplanesguy
