    I would just add that the current in coil B is dependent on the insulation resistance of the machine + R2 i.e.
    I2=V/(Rm+R2) {R2 is constant}
    and hence more machine resistance means less current and vice versa. This in turn makes the developed magnetic field in coil B due to I2 dependent on macine resistance and hence the interacting force on the indicator, thus the resistance is measured.

    good explanation..however the magnetic fields in the coils will be perpendicular to what is being shown by something like a wifi signal...if that wifi signal like field represents magnetic field than it should have been drawn perpendicular...rest of it was perfect
