... on mine the area is Ok except ay the corners where the Heater Channel connects also both Pillars "B" are a total rust so I have to replace them and I get good fittings ... But great video and learning from you as I go ...

Why didn't you just cut the side flange off and then bend it to the curvature? You had rot there anyway.

When you say spot welding, do you really mean spot welding or plug welding?

Plug weld if the hole is through.
