To get a quality leather wallet and a killer scratch-off routine, plus room for a couple of other mentalist tricks sounds like a winner to me. Thank you David!
hi James !!!
Agreed. I think people do not know how strong the response of the audience is, when the rub off those lottery tickets... I might just buy the refills and use it with my wonder unit and JOL wallet from propdog...
@@thelongestday64 terrific idea!
I'm guessing there are refills to buy? I would like to hear about that. I do a really old trick where they predict a time of day and it appears in a photo that can be handed out. I figured out a way to do that trick without having to purchase refills as they aren't available any more. The problem with refills is first they are a pain when you run out and have to wait for them, and second, if you really like something, you can be assured that one day they will stop making the refills.

thanks for bringing this to our attention from a company I hadn’t heard of …
nice, thorough review David 👍👍
My pleasure! Here is the other review I did for them ua-cam.com/video/aICp6SruYrE/v-deo.html
Picked this up as soon as released due to the other Secret Tannery products previously used - Rebel Wallet; Jacks Peek Note Wallet. Wallet quality is phenomenal. Another excellent product. Another excellent review. Thank you for your efforts
Thanks for sharing!
I used to do Chad Long’s scratch gimmick. This effect is very similar to Alarmed which was marketed by Alakazam. The wallets Secret Tannery make have always been amazing. I use their peek wallets as EDC since it looks so innocent.
cool !!!
This sounds like a great set of tricks and I learned about another company that makes magic tricks and props. Thanks for the great review
Happy to help!
Refills add to the overall cost.
This cost about $1.25 each performance. The more you do it, the higher the cost.
Each time I use my coin box, the cheaper it gets.
This applies mostly if you are performing professionally. But, even as a hobby refills add dramatically to the cost.
very true
Hi david great review i bought this trick as i have other props from Gérard so was sold straight away its a gret trick im working magician so i love this premise nothing like it really great trick i also have his rebel note and rebel elite really good quality stuff thanks again for review . Brian . Alness scottish highlands

Where do I get the scratch off refills? How much are they each? How many are initially supplied?

I have the elite wallet, perfect card-to-wallet and everyday item. And Gerard is practically my neighbor lol.
nice
I was first introduced to secret tannery from your channel with their peek wallet. Using the Booktest for as a justification is a brilliant idea
thanks for stopping by
I like this. It seems there will be re-fills though. By the way, I like the shirt too.
thanks Mac !!!
@@magicorthodoxy Any time my friend.
Secret Tannery stuff is so nice the problem is that my wardrobe doesn't live up to the prop.
too nice for a jeans and tshirt world
LOVE the T-shirt. Is it available?
I got it from David Blaine's Texas tour
This just seems to be "Predicta" or any other scratch off lottery trick from years past, along with a posh wallet where others have used card envelopes (and fewer numbers). I can't see the advantage for the price difference. Thanks for the honest review though. This one is honest enough that you see exactly all you need to know.
Thanks Ed
Hi Ed. Thanks for the comment. I feel I should address this to better describe. Yes, this is heavily based on predicta, and credit is given to Gilbert Raimond for the same. I'm not sure what posh wallet means? It's a gimmicked wallet that will keep everything streamlined. Its well made with nice leather, if that makes it posh! so be it! All this being said, there are some major differences and advantages over others like this. The idea of having fewer numbers allows you to do the routine with ease and disguise the method. You don't have to mark off in real time when the numbers are being called out. The construction allows for easy finished card with no creases or bubbles. And finally the routine itself is presented much differently. I hope this helps point out the difference.
Just to be clear....the trick itself is just "name 2 numbers, look here's a scratch ticket". They scratch it off and it matches. Or is another type of trick required as a misdirection? Bit confused. What is the baseline trick you're buying exactly?
yup - you got it right
This looks really good. Great review 😊👍😊👍😊
Thank you 🤗
Thanks a lot
Most welcome
Is there enough room to use this as a normal wallet, or is this mainly just a trick?
did you see the inside at 5:12 it's pretty small
Yeah. Still a cool trick though…Thanks
How many cards do we get with the trick and do they provide refills?
20 I think and yes you can buy refills. Excellent product
:D
Matthew wright had a trick called Lucko which is a scratch giveaway. It was the spec birthday as a magic square. Good trick and nice giveaway since it looked like a scratcher lottery ticket. Only downside is you gotta know the spec birthday
interesting
Got this when it came out. Wallet is fantastic quality. Cards are not. Sharpie bleeds through the card so u need to find a marker that won’t bleed. Glad he now makes them black on the back except for those of us that bought early and weren’t offered replacements. Initial tutorial was terrible. Maybe they’ve made it better. Justifying the time it takes to do the necessary work will take work and you’ll need to practice the writing technique.
here's the new refills www.secrettannery.com/product-page/scratch-refills-20-cards
@@magicorthodoxy thanks. Refills are ridiculously overpriced
Hi Eric, thanks for the comments. Just to expand on the above. The previous cards can work, some have experienced bleeds. This will depend on how heavy handed the user is. As I am proficient, its a lot easier for me to do it with out bleeds and it was on this basis, I upgraded to have black backs. With regards to the replacements, why didn't you reach out to me? I have a reputation that I'm proud of for listening and acting upon? I'm sorry, you found the tutorial terrible, but this is the only complaint on that issue that I have! I have had a few professional reviews and nobody else picked up on this. Lastly, Yes, most of my work will take practice and it will take time. But its all very achievable. I demonstrate this by including full uncut performances in all my tutorials. I will always try and put out good quality material that I can stand over. Best regards, Gerard Kearney
@@ndmagic99 yes, nearly all materials over the past couple of years has gone up substantailly. And there's a bit of work in getting these to a finished product. The price is the best I can do for now. Even after I upgraded to the black backs which drives my cost up even more, I have still kept the price the same. If materials lower in cost, I maybe able to pass the savings on to my customers.
GREAT trick. But the instructional video grossly lacks detail in regard to "marking the numbers".
oh, well .... it's pretty easy if you've ever worn a digital watch static.vecteezy.com/system/resources/thumbnails/004/334/346/small/digital-number-flat-modern-free-vector.jpg
@@magicorthodoxy Thanks man!! I appreciate the graphic. It will help!
