    I'm always surprised to see how small your work area actually is. Thanks Dave.

      You and me both! I wish it was bigger but my whole room is tiny.

    Excellent job, Dave.
    And thanks to Dave and Toy Polloi, I've learnt that lighter fluid is the ultimate in cleaning products, for toys and surfaces.
    But I would also recommend a bit of furniture polish, as well, to clean surfaces and to stop vintage action figures being sticky. :)

    Just bought a new XL cutting mat. I love a fresh one.

    I am getting this mental image of the wife, just out of shot- tapping her foot with arms folded.
    "When you've done it, and *right*, you can have some of those treats viewers send in!"
    😁😁😁 I kid.

    Reminding me i really should clean the custom corner more often. I kinda work in chaos. Or i avoid working there because it is chaos. One of the two.

      That's me most of the time as well. I would rather be fixing than cleaning.

    Thanks for the tips. If I may ask what is the white material on the base of your work bench that you were cleaning with lighter fluid?

    • @ToyPolloiTwo
      @ToyPolloiTwo  6 місяців тому +2

      It's a sheet of perspex. The desk underneath is actually blue Formica.

    Do you use a sheet of foamboard to protect the surface of your work desk?

    • @ToyPolloiTwo
      @ToyPolloiTwo  6 місяців тому +2

      The white surface you see me cleaning is perspex. The actual table underneath is blue Formica. It's a 1960s fold out table.

      @ToyPolloiTwo good to know! I wasn't aware that these sheets of acrylic come in colors.

    • @ToyPolloiTwo
      @ToyPolloiTwo  6 місяців тому +1

      They come in all colours. I'm just working on a project where I am using grey sheets of styrene. And the only reason I am using grey is that it was about half the price of white. No idea why and as I am painting the end result it made no difference to me. Cheers

    I still don't understand the deal with lighter fluid, what is the property in it that makes it exceptional for cleaning? Wouldn't something like rubbing alcohol work?

    • @ToyPolloiTwo
      @ToyPolloiTwo  6 місяців тому +2

      No idea, but it works great and doesn't dissolve plastic.

      Easiest way to describe it is crude oil. It's naptha which is the main ingredient to making gasoline. So, it's basically just crude oil unprocessed. There's more to it obviously but that's the easiest way to describe it.

      @@ToyPolloiTwo on the contrary, you appear to take great care with your painty exploits. You have steady hands which is something I find increasingly difficult to maintain. Weirdly though I am still a dab hand with scissors and I do appreciate your proficiency with the shears ✂️👌
