Excellent job, Dave. And thanks to Dave and Toy Polloi, I've learnt that lighter fluid is the ultimate in cleaning products, for toys and surfaces. But I would also recommend a bit of furniture polish, as well, to clean surfaces and to stop vintage action figures being sticky. :)
I am getting this mental image of the wife, just out of shot- tapping her foot with arms folded. "When you've done it, and *right*, you can have some of those treats viewers send in!" 😁😁😁 I kid.
They come in all colours. I'm just working on a project where I am using grey sheets of styrene. And the only reason I am using grey is that it was about half the price of white. No idea why and as I am painting the end result it made no difference to me. Cheers
I still don't understand the deal with lighter fluid, what is the property in it that makes it exceptional for cleaning? Wouldn't something like rubbing alcohol work?
Easiest way to describe it is crude oil. It's naptha which is the main ingredient to making gasoline. So, it's basically just crude oil unprocessed. There's more to it obviously but that's the easiest way to describe it.
A nice look behind the scenes at a task the viewers don't necessarily appreciate has to be done periodically. Stop splattering paint about you hooligan 😅😅
@@ToyPolloiTwo on the contrary, you appear to take great care with your painty exploits. You have steady hands which is something I find increasingly difficult to maintain. Weirdly though I am still a dab hand with scissors and I do appreciate your proficiency with the shears ✂️👌
I'm always surprised to see how small your work area actually is. Thanks Dave.
You and me both! I wish it was bigger but my whole room is tiny.

Just bought a new XL cutting mat. I love a fresh one.
I think I need a new one as well. My main TP mat is really tatty.
Nothing like a fresh, clean workspace 😎🙂

This vid made me chuckle Dave 😂
Some nice ambidextrous skills there!
Thanks 😊
Oddly satisfying!
Not according to @travisash8180. Let me quote them 'This is a bit boring' 🤣
@@ToyPolloiTwo I've changed my mind, it is, in fact, very boring 😴
You can't please everyone 🤔 I'll be covering a different topic next week. Cheers
Reminding me i really should clean the custom corner more often. I kinda work in chaos. Or i avoid working there because it is chaos. One of the two.
That's me most of the time as well. I would rather be fixing than cleaning.
Making me feel a bit guilty and motivated. Guess I need to clean my work area now 😅 Cheers, friend!
Go for it!
Thanks for the tips. If I may ask what is the white material on the base of your work bench that you were cleaning with lighter fluid?
It's a sheet of perspex. The desk underneath is actually blue Formica.
I learned something Today❤
Relaxing 😊
🤗
gosh it's such a small work bench I didn't realise
Yep, it's tiny. You just work with what you've got.
Do you use a sheet of foamboard to protect the surface of your work desk?
The white surface you see me cleaning is perspex. The actual table underneath is blue Formica. It's a 1960s fold out table.
@ToyPolloiTwo good to know! I wasn't aware that these sheets of acrylic come in colors.

@ToyPolloiTwo Thanks, Dave! I find every video educational as well as entertaining. Keep up the wonderful content!
Does lighter fluid leave a flammable residue?
It evaporates very quickly.
All you have done is show me how dirty my phone screen is... Nice behind the scenes job

No idea, but it works great and doesn't dissolve plastic.

Literally watching paint dry. 🤣
Oh well. Can't please everyone.
