Libertadores was so much better years ago. Atmosphere was sick, but they've started to ban everything that made the atmosphere amazing. Flares, fireworks, smoke, etc etc.
El I remember watching Melgar playing against Minero last year in Peru and on tv you can hear the intercom say "please turn off the flares" after Melgar scored the first goal against Minero. Ridiculous what has happened over the few years because of bad apples. I'm waiting since to this day to see Alianza Lima back in Copa Libertadores.
The real reason of the amazing atmosphere of the Libertadores is the fans and the way they chant all game and in a way that only happens here, it's sad that they banned the things you say and it was better that way but the atmosphere in the Copa Libertadores it's still incredible and unique.
Almost Always, the superstars in UCL are from South America. Almost all of them previously played Copa Libertadores. I would love watch UCL teams without the Bosman Law. And see what happen. And I really would love return of the old Intercontinental Cup. 2 matches. Home and away. They were epic battles. Teams like Liverpool did not want to play it because of fear, putting the excuse of the full calendar.
Libertadores needs the good organization of UCL. I dream about seing our competition enveloped, an anthem, a pattern of colors in transmissions, beautiful banners etc. The prize is not very attractive (The state championship of São Paulo gives almost the same money), North American teams can not qualify to Fifa Club World Cup if they win... It has to be better managed. Champions League has an amazing series that shows behind the scenes and interviews with coaches, fans and players. I love that! We deserve a better competition.
Conmebol now is tryng to do it. I heard that they want a single final, in a neutral country. I prefer, by far, a two legs final. The distances are much more longer than in europe.
Ni Kra, and there is the fact that good part of fans here in south america don't have enough money to go onto a foreign country that it's far away like Ecuador (brazilian here)
Champions league has the money, better players, and the infrastructure. Copa Libertadores had the heart, the passion, more competitive(unpredictable), and it is where usually the top players on the world BORN. Sorry guys, it’s been three years since I wrote that, I have change my opinion now 1.9k likes that’s impressive
The two main differences between Copa Libertadores and Champions League are: the teams in the Libertadores are more levelled, meaning that most teams make the same investment in terms of money (Champions League has more money). As a result, the Libertadores is more competitive, it doesn't have the same winner every year like in the Champions League. The last reason is that Libertadores is love, war, passion, lifestyle; Champions League is tourists, theatre, one or two teams have the best roster, and one country (Spain) takes over. In my opinion, the Copa Libertadores is way better than the Champions League!
Yuri Muniz the part of the money is not so true. Brazilian teams nowadays spend much more money than teams from other countries, but because libertadores is more than just have the best players, it doesn't mean that it will be like champions leaugue, where the teams with more money always win
In champions doesn't have the same winner and finally champions league all the world watched it and its more competitive and the professional south america player dream to play with barcelona or real madrid and playing in ucl
South America is such an amazing continent for football!! The fans passion for the beautiful game, knows no equals!! Their supporters are just incredible!! Viva Los Copa Libertadores!!
Im my opinion this would be what what happended in europe if you took out the big clubs in europe and left clubs without plastic fans and helpfrom refs and uefa like celtic, sporting, anderlecht, schalke, galatasaray and smaller clubs the athmosphere would be insane And there could so many surprises and so many unknown talents discovered
Nuno Reseng Agreed, now uefa is trying to kick the "smaller" leagues out of the UCL, it's a matter of time until I can't see my team play in it anymore, but oh well at least I can see my team being robbed but the uefa referees by a couple more years, yeah!
The football in South America is so much more leveled than European football. Only 3 clubs can win Spanish League, 2 or 3 clubs can win Italian League, 5 or 6 clubs can win English League, only 1 can win German League, but here in Brazil there are at least 9 or 10 clubs that can really win Brazilian League.
I agree, to be a competitive team in Europe you need to spend a lot of money on transfers etc. Only few teams can afford to do that, and this is sad because the difference is getting bigger every year, teams like PSG, Barcelona, Bayern, Real, Juventus or other top premier league teams can easily spend 100 million for one single player, while in my country the league winners Legia Warsaw which is btw the richer team in Poland cannot even spend 2 millions on a player, and this is common for all Eastern Europe and Scandinavia with few exceptions.
I think that it would better if Uefa didn't change the champions league format by introducing non-champion teams from best leagues. The level across the Europe would be more equal and CL games more exciting than nowadays
thats true !! that happens in all latinoamerica, lets see the last champions of argentina tournament: Boca, River, Racing, San lorenzo, Velez, Newells, Arsenal, Banfield, Estudiantes, Argentinos juniors, Lanus ... 11 different teams in the last 10 years
@Mateusz Gilka But if CL had only each nations champions, many top teams would be absent, the quality would be poorer and, still, the big nations would keep winning as in the past. How is it more exciting if Iceland, Ireland, Norway, Poland, teams keep being slaughtered by likes of Juve, Real, Barca, PSG, Bayern, Liverpool, Benfica? It'd be so boring.
I was so mad when I found out LigaMX wasn't going to be in libertadores anymore. I think I'm saying this for most LigaMX fans, I would much rather participate in Libertadores than in Concacaf champions league
I'm brazilian and i am really curious to see what MX and MLS top teams are capable off, your hinchas should do some kind of protest to concacaf requesting the participation.
It's a more old school form of football, very unpredicatble, decent quality, good atmosphere. In Europe most champions league games 50% of the crowds are either plastics who only show up for CL games or tourists from other countries and continents, and the rest of the supporters are usually just middle class people who are just there to 'watch the game' and just quietly sit there. Real supporters are becoming more rare in the top leagues.
Meanwhile in Camp Nou: over 90,000 supporters cheer there team in an AMAZING atmosphere in the 90th minute going out in the quarterfinals of UCL to Juventus "but but plastic supporter shitty bandwagon tourist"
Bob Jenkins I have been to camp nou as a tourist too, singing the blaugrana song is like singing YNWA. It's not real support, you do it once or twice. A full stadium of South American fans sing, cheer, dance and support for 90 minutes.
Like I said no matter what you say you will never see celebrations like what happens in South America. Even in the Middle East the celebrations are better than the what happens in Europe.
Last years Copa Libertadores in 2016 Independiente del valle was so close to make history and surprising everyone is South America but then came Atletico Nacional...I'm Ecuadorian btw and I was proud they made it this far, and my uncle is the medic of the team last year and it was an amazing experience seeing him
It's very rewarding for me, as a Brazilian, to watch a video like this, specially because it was made by an European. Obviously, it is hard for you guys - living in 1st world countries - to appreciate the Libertadores. But I think this is exactly what makes it so special for us. Lack of safety and infrastructure; unpredictability, altitude and the passion from the crowds. I wish one day we could make it commercially attractive to tou guys, within losing its South American magic and tradition. Cheers!
Brother, I'm from Argentina and loved your comment. You summoned it up beautifully. And please, don't be harsh on Neymar, he's fantastic, had very bad luck with his injuries, produced that unreal goal (!!) against Croatia and still has a WC left. Abraco.
I think most people would find the Libertadores more enjoyable to watch if they gave it a chance because it's nowhere near as elitist as European football. I'd love to see teams from "lesser" footballing countries in Europe have a genuine chance at winning just to make it more interesting.
Champions league is boring now. Every year it's the same UEFA pet clubs that are super rich and all the plastic glory hunters claim to "support" even though they don't even live in the same country.
Exactly. That's the problem. Back in the day people supported their hometown club and gave everything for it. Nowadays it's just a global brand. I feel sorry for people that really are from Madrid or Barcelona that have to witness how football tourists from all over the world make up a majority of the crowd in their stadium. My club won't win a CL title in my lifetime I think but it's still a better feeling to be in the stands with people from my area that are all united than to be a Bayern or Barca supporter who complains when they don't win high enough. There is a reason why a lot of times smaller teams can create a better atmosphere than those super clubs
I'm Atletico Madrid supporter from Canada, i didn't start cheering for them because Cholo or the players but because of the fans, they have passion and they feel and live football, they're proud supporter and proud of Atleti's identity in which is the people's club, i started supporter Atleti when they were loser, proud supporter since 2009...........the hell with tourist coming to football stadium
Really you are only looking at Real-Barca-Bayern each year. Although it is good this year we have two of them knocked out at the quarter finals this year.
Absolutely spot on mate. I'd rather follow my team every week with all these people that share my love for this team that means absolutely everything to me than "support" a team half way across the world that I'll never seen play in person
Copa Libertadores - metal & punk rock show UEFA Champions League - Soap Opera AFC Champions League - Manufactured boy band CAF Champions League - Reggae CONCACAF Champions League - Kumbia concert OFC Champions League - $%#*# there you have it, now you know which club competition in the world is the coolest!
There is much more passion in the Copa Libertadores and it is much more exciting since the same teams don't do good every single season like in the UCL. They're both good but UCL just isn't as exciting or passion filled like the Copa Libertadores.
Erick Torres We don't need mexicans teams here, the reason most of teams didn't want a mexican team into their group is because long trips they had to take. what about the money?, well if you have watched latest matches, most of stadiums have been completely full of supporters, that's a good income for the home team and the visitor didn't have to fly more than 2 hours.
Most of the fans of the top clubs in the Champions League just wanna watch a game and see good players. They're basically like people going to the theater, this is not football. In Libertadores we're anxious the whole week before, suffer the intire match and celebrate or cry in the end. Football is not just a game, it's supposed to make you feel something. Watching my team I get angry, nervous, sad, anxious and happy. This is what football is meant to be.
Economically it is better the Champions League, but competitively is better the Copa Libertadores. South American players are accustomed to playing under adverse conditions and this fact, strengthens them psychologically to play in any European country, where they are almost always leaders of the teams where they play. For this fact, in terms of competition, the Copa Libertadores, it is better than the Champions League, although obviously, there is greater economic capacity in Europe, besides the spectacle and the business of the television itself.
Same old plastic fans in comments who think that any game not involving one of Europe's top clubs is shit because of the lack of quality. Go and switch off Sky and go watch some real football.
+Rodrigo Fernandes its not shit bro. Is far from the champions league quality. But the winner of libertadores in the end of the year many times beated the champions league winner in the world clubs cup. The quality is worst indeed, but not that worst, we have great players and great teams too
There are stadiums in south america in which the audience jumping shakes the ground like small earthquakes, making the ball jump every now and then. That level of passion is unparalleled.
Copa Libertadores is dangerous. It’s sometimes feels like a lawless tournament. Referees let more things go and it’s not all that great if you’re a player. If you’re a fan, sure it’s awesome because you’re not the one getting hammered with bottles and coins from the crowd or getting kicked and kneed in the field. The refs also have bias towards certain teams. It’s a great tournament but it can also get out of hand at times.
For me are the same, Champions League and Libertadores are the most important club competitions in the world. Both delivers great ambience, great matches, great fans and unforgettable moments.
Amazing video. About time South American football be put properly on media. I first watched Libertadores in 2003 between Santos and Boca Juniors. The atmosphere inside the stadium was just electric. Had the first glimpses of players like Robinho, Tevez, Riquelme, Diego
Absolutely love how they mention Independiente Del Valle. Would be amazing if you guys made a video about Liga De Quito and their rise to dominance about a decade ago 🇪🇨
Had the pleasure of going to a game in brazil, not during a libertadores game but it was still an experience, the crowd, the atmosphere on and off the pitch around the stadium is more like a festival with supporters and fireworks the whole nine. The team I went to see which was sao paulo fc won that night and the whole place turned into one big party with mosh pits and chants breaking out about 5 times just walking outside the stadium. A riot broke out between two rival supporters groups (for the same team) me and my friend had to run away from the train station and back to get our train back home covering our faces to avoid breathing in tear gas. That night was One of the top best experiences of my life.
There is not so much quality difference between Copa Libertadores and Champions League. South American teams can win European teams. São Paulo did this three times (1992 against Barcelona, 1993 against Milan and 2005 against Liverpool), Corinthians beat Chelsea in 2012, Internacional beat Barcelona in 2006
Europe have the market. Latin America have the fiesta. Its two different things,in Europe we have great fotball but being in Argentina's stadiums is something else.
..according to europeans, no..no it's not..they should've left european clubs with european players..than we'd see how big your Barcelonas and Real Madrids would be then
have you guys watched Palmeiras vs Peñarol? or Barcelona SC vs Estudiantes? Those are real games played with passion. you don't get that from a UCL game.
Vasco da Gama went to Equador play the final iin 1998. The whole night there were supporters exploding fireworks in the front of the hotel not letting the players sleep to the match next day. That's Libertadores!
I have lived in Uruguay and I must say that the football culture in Uruguay is insane. It is ingrained in the everyday social fabric. I cannot put it in words. I went to several several Libertadores games, pre games and national team games. Peñarol, Nacional, Defensor, Racing, Tanque de Sisley, etc... There so many good footballers that they work regular jobs. We knew national team players, we had a friend who played 1st division in Mexico (dropped to Ascenso), and even had a 1st division player work a kids party for us. The football culture was great. I have been in Europe as well and its just different . European football has its following while in Uruguay, football is culture.
Alexander Schaefer why? Conmebol just wants mls teams and ligaMx teams for the money and ratings. Also, mls teams would get smashed, its bettef for them to try winning a concacaf champions league
Well I'm a nycfc supporter. Playing in the libratadores would be an amazing opportunity to go to the games and see much better teams. For conmebol, yeah I don't see any benefits for them except money. I love CCL but libratadores is much better and more fun.
Players specially from argentina don't like to lose (no one does) but they get so angry when it happens that they start a fight. I can remember how many times those players fought in the field after losing a match. Anyways shout out to brazil and all for all Atletico Mineiro fans!
If europeans wouldn’t take our best players NOBODY would watch the champions league. Imagine a Newell’s team with messi & a santos team with neymar. The whole world would tune in. Like Guardiola once said .. To Understand real football you must visit South America ....
If South American players stayed in South America it'd be a real spectacle. I always find myself wondering what the footballing landscape would be like now if the power shifted in the opposite direction.
Because this South American win the last 4 world cup, win the last editions of the WC u20 and u17, and the best player of the world Modric is Colombian
Better than Europa League ?? yes Better than UCL ? slightly no But if Interamericana cup(The real deal of competition in between all over American continent from Conmebol and Concacaf) still exist with such passion and money to keep stabilized the league, Interamericana might surpass UCL. I wish the Concacaf and Conmebol football association could work together again and remerge their competition by just revive this defunct tournament
Yes for sure. European football at high level is shit because it's always the same teams, and all the glory hunters on here are the ones responsible for this "European Super League" which will effectively be the end of European football. There are some good fans in Europe though like Turkey, Greece, Poland, Scotland but will soon be shunned from the top level because of shite UEFA. I say let the Bundesliga run European football.
Tony Harley agree with you, uefa is shit, it's a matter of time until they kick the "small" leagues out of the UCL, they are already accepting less teams from those countries. They only care about the big rich leagues, they're ruining the competition. Ps: Got to add that Portuguese fans are also very passionate
Yes UEFA and Sky will kill European football. There will be no underdogs and it will be the same teams every year playing each other. And yes there are other leagues with great fans including Portugal and also Germany, some Italian fans but they aren't really at the same level as South Americans anymore
Tony Harley Naah, in my opinion, those european "underdogs" are irrelevant and wont make a difference. When was the last time one of them ever reached the finals or even win the Champions League? The last time was in 2004 between Porto and Monaco, and never again. Its not the same as in South America, where underdogs constantly make it to the finals. In my opinion, the Champions League will benefit from not having so much irrelevant competitors that rarely ever do anything significant. And in case someone tries to argue "but here UEFA referees always rob underdogs from deserved wins"...dude, Im from South America and I can attest that referee robberies here are as rampant as in Europe. You're not really missing much over there. Just the last year Atletico Nacional from Colombia had it's share of suspicious moments in it's path to winning the title.
I can agree with you more guys, I am French and we have some good fans such as: St Etienne, Marseille,Lyon,Psg(before Qatar Money), Rc Lens, etc. And I start to hate champions league every year it is the same shit, the same club (Real Madrid,Barca,Bayern,Juventus and maybe Atletico) all those rich clubs that just brings more glory hunters. I am not going to lie every night I watch Libertadores on live on UA-cam and it is so much different the atmosphere, you can see that people are ready to die for their club and their colors. I hate that today everybody now supports the same shit saying that these clubs are in their blood but yet doesn't even know a player in the team. I hate that today football is just a matter of money and commercial for example Paul Pogba With his Adidas advertisement. Even the football culture had died I miss when I was a child that me and my friends were all playing football on the streets playing with a ball that every time finished on a tree 😂 However I hate today when I see all these kids just dabbing and all with the same jersey (Real,Barca) and fighting for a team that they will never meet instead of supporting their local club.
Respect to the British man that knows so much, and shares so many facts. 👏🏽 that’s how you know South American football/ players are so unique. And he sees that.
This is why I love the Copa Liberdatores. I was born in Buenos Aires but moved to the US when I was little. I support River Plate like my dad, but I have not seen a game since I was too little to remember. My dream is to see a Copa Liberdatores game, but until then, I'll keep streaming River games on UA-cam and Rojadirecta.
Well I do understand your point, but it's not the fact that "European fans are boring", a lot of small European clubs have a lot of passionate fans, the ones that are boring are unfortunantly the ones that get the most attention, the rich big club fans
I agree but just because they don't blow up as much stuff and light as much fire doesn't mean they aren't passionate. Also the big clubs don't represent all of Europe. Eastern European and others can create great atmosphere. Turkish, German, Portuguese, Scottish to name a few have passionate fans
You guys should do more Asain football coverage. From the freezing cold of Japan to the blistering heat of the middle east. World Cup qualification is a brutal sledge for the players.
I’m from Brazil and I remember stories from supporters screaming the whole night - at least until the cops came - in front of a hotel which the opposite team was at. But yeah, some things Commebol, which is the football committee of South America, is banning from the stadium, like fireworks, smokes, etc. that used made a great atmosphere in the pitch.
Big clubs to watch in Copa Libertadores : Peñarol (Uruguay) Boca, River Plate, Racing, Independiente, Estudiantes (Argentina) Corinthians, Sao Paulo, Palmeiras, Flamengo, Santos (Brasil) Atlético Nacional (Colombia) Of course there are many more big clubs to watch but that are the ones I recommend based on fans, history and how they play now.
#Nacional, Penarol (Uruguai) #Boca, River Plate, Racing, Independiente, San Lorenzo, Estudiantes (Argentina) #Corinthians, São Paulo, Palmeiras, Santos, Flamengo, Vasco, Botafogo, Fluminense, Internacional, Gremio, Cruzeiro, Atletico MG (Brasil) #Atlético Nacional, Once Caldas, Santa Fe (Colombia) #Olimpia, Cerro Porteno, Guarani, Liberad (Paraguai) #Colo Colo, LaU, Universidad Catolica (Chile) #LDU Quito, Emelec, Barcelona Guayaquil (Equador) #The Strongest, Bolivar (Bolivia) #Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal (Peru) #Caracas (Venezuela) Some South American teams that are difficult to face or have tradition.
Erick Torres Peñarol is in a bad moment but they make it to the final in 2011 and it's the third team that won this cup more times and with Boca the two teams that played more finals (10), also they have amazing fans and is one of the greatest teams of South America .
There is no other tournament like the Libertadores. I remember when in 2010 my team, Internacional de Porto Alegre advanced to the quarter finals to face current champions Estudiantes. Our stadium had almost 60,000 people chanting during the 90 minutes and with several red flares, creating a hell, and even tough we were not playing well, we won 1-0. The second leg was played on a small stadium also filled up but Inter played even worse and by 20 minutes we were losing 2-0. At 80 minutes the Estudiantes fans began using their flares and the smoke made vision impossible. Also both teams had white on their kits, so on the TV it was horrible to see. As they celebrated, Inter scored a crucial away goal att 93 minutes and went to the semi-finals, eventually winning the championship. It was fucking amazing. The Estudiantes fans began throwing rocks in the field and after the match the players engaged on a fight. It still give me chills.
Vamos River!!!!

and back when they had Mexican teams
The real reason of the amazing atmosphere of the Libertadores is the fans and the way they chant all game and in a way that only happens here, it's sad that they banned the things you say and it was better that way but the atmosphere in the Copa Libertadores it's still incredible and unique.
That did not change here in Argentina ! We do it anyway !

Better Players = South American Players.
Heltinho Minardi the best attackers are from South America
David Acosta you can also watch some entertaining fights pretty often. You dont see that on Champions League.
Best players / They played in Europe so thats all no one out of South America gives a fuck libertadores...
It happens because of eurocentrism and bad management of Conmebol.
CHAMPIONS: BARCELONA, REAL MADRID, JUVENTUS, BAYERN MUNICH
LIBERTADORES: CUALQUIERA PUEDE GANAR

But if Latin players stay in Latin America Copa Libertadores could be better .
yet never heard of it
Champions league are watched all around the world you watched a game in anfield or dortmund match its fantastic
In champions doesn't have the same winner and finally champions league all the world watched it and its more competitive and the professional south america player dream to play with barcelona or real madrid and playing in ucl
Ehh the matches are boring
@@raphaelostrowski6336 watch Barcelona playing is boring.

South America is such an amazing continent for football!! The fans passion for the beautiful game, knows no equals!! Their supporters are just incredible!! Viva Los Copa Libertadores!!
Im my opinion this would be what what happended in europe if you took out the big clubs in europe and left clubs without plastic fans and helpfrom refs and uefa like celtic, sporting, anderlecht, schalke, galatasaray and smaller clubs the athmosphere would be insane
And there could so many surprises and so many unknown talents discovered
Nuno Reseng Agreed, now uefa is trying to kick the "smaller" leagues out of the UCL, it's a matter of time until I can't see my team play in it anymore, but oh well at least I can see my team being robbed but the uefa referees by a couple more years, yeah!
I support Sporting
I guess she supports porto from her profile pic
Nuno Reseng FC Porto! Looks like both of us support Portuguese clubs 😂
AKA the Europa League
The Copa Libertadores is like the gritty European football of the 90, but the Libertadores never went soft
Learn about european football and then we talk
I was so mad when I found out LigaMX wasn't going to be in libertadores anymore. I think I'm saying this for most LigaMX fans, I would much rather participate in Libertadores than in Concacaf champions league
Hell yeah because playing against these unknown Caribbean teams is no competition for liga mx.

Meanwhile in Camp Nou:
over 90,000 supporters cheer there team in an AMAZING atmosphere in the 90th minute going out in the quarterfinals of UCL to Juventus
"but but plastic supporter shitty bandwagon tourist"
Bob Jenkins I have been to camp nou as a tourist too, singing the blaugrana song is like singing YNWA. It's not real support, you do it once or twice. A full stadium of South American fans sing, cheer, dance and support for 90 minutes.
Bob Jenkins HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BARCELONA SUPPORTERS SUCKS, ONLY SUPPORT HIS PLAYERS WHEN THEY PLAY WELL... IN BAD MOMENTS DISSAPAIRS
Old school? Decent quality? Its seems ok europe they dont have more football, its like an industry and no more
When Flamengo won the Libertadores in 1981 they went ahead to beat Liverpool 3-0 in the final, it's REALLY unpredictable
São Paulo won 3 libertadores and 3 world champions in 1992-1993-2005, this is amazing
Actually Flamengo is the biggest joke of Brazil in Libertadores, he can't pass of level . Hahaha.

Cheers!

There is much more passion in the Copa Libertadores and it is much more exciting since the same teams don't do good every single season like in the UCL. They're both good but UCL just isn't as exciting or passion filled like the Copa Libertadores.
Not to mention that the European fans are SOFT and the players are as well there is more physicality involved here
they need to bring back Liga MX teams
Talegon 31 always agreed :)

Libertadores is the most passionate competion in the world. You don't watch it, you feel it.
Same old plastic fans in comments who think that any game not involving one of Europe's top clubs is shit because of the lack of quality. Go and switch off Sky and go watch some real football.

There are stadiums in south america in which the audience jumping shakes the ground like small earthquakes, making the ball jump every now and then. That level of passion is unparalleled.
definetly not as great talented as europeans teams, but the south american teams are super under-rated.
South American fans are fucking awesome as well, I'd love to some day do a football trip through South America to attend games.
What do you mean by talented? MOST OF THE TALENT I. EUROPEAN TEAMS IS SOUTH AMERICAN! You've gotta get your ideas clear here.
They have a picture of Chivas Guadalajara holding a trophy in a friendly vs Boca 😂
For me are the same, Champions League and Libertadores are the most important club competitions in the world. Both delivers great ambience, great matches, great fans and unforgettable moments.

Great stuff guys, Libertadores é isso aí! The atmosphere is incredible and the fans are the craziest, respect from Brazil!
There is not so much quality difference between Copa Libertadores and Champions League. South American teams can win European teams. São Paulo did this three times (1992 against Barcelona, 1993 against Milan and 2005 against Liverpool), Corinthians beat Chelsea in 2012, Internacional beat Barcelona in 2006
The one who knocks the difference between South american and europan teams get wider every year. Sad.
José Lemus That's because of the amount of money in each continent. Unfortunately, there are a lot of thieves ruling the football in South America
When a great team of Brazil win the Libertadores, European team should be afraid. Corinthians crushed Real Madrid in 2000 and Chelsea in 2012.

Libertadores is for South America only.

It would be insane , Imagine a Santos side with Neymar playing against a Vasco side with Coutinho in the Libertadores
Because this South American win the last 4 world cup, win the last editions of the WC u20 and u17, and the best player of the world Modric is Colombian
Better than Europa League ?? yes
Better than UCL ? slightly no
But if Interamericana cup(The real deal of competition in between all over American continent from Conmebol and Concacaf) still exist with such passion and money to keep stabilized the league, Interamericana might surpass UCL.

Much more passion. European fans are boring in comparison. Definitely not better in terms of talent.
F Major K I wouldn't say that
Well I do understand your point, but it's not the fact that "European fans are boring", a lot of small European clubs have a lot of passionate fans, the ones that are boring are unfortunantly the ones that get the most attention, the rich big club fans
I agree but just because they don't blow up as much stuff and light as much fire doesn't mean they aren't passionate. Also the big clubs don't represent all of Europe. Eastern European and others can create great atmosphere. Turkish, German, Portuguese, Scottish to name a few have passionate fans
Of course it's not better in terms of talent. Europe buys every talent coming out here.
Bundesliga fans are awesome in my opinion.
The Libertadores gives chance for Small Clubs like Corinthians from Brazil to be Champion
GreenStainMV mundial. Apenas kkkkkkkk
GreenStainMV cadê seu mundial??
Kkkkk
okaokskoas
Cadê seu mundial porco imundo?
Last 9 finals in the Libertadores has had 18 different teams whereas the UCL is so predictable and boring.
Wenger Out
;)
Wat
Big clubs to watch in Copa Libertadores :
Peñarol (Uruguay)
Boca, River Plate, Racing, Independiente, Estudiantes (Argentina)

Some South American teams that are difficult to face or have tradition.
Juan Pe not peñarol that team has been garbage since like the 1990s they live off of history that happened half a century ago
Erick Torres Peñarol is in a bad moment but they make it to the final in 2011 and it's the third team that won this cup more times and with Boca the two teams that played more finals (10), also they have amazing fans and is one of the greatest teams of South America .
Juan Pe Racing? hahahahhahaha
where is santos, the biggest team of south america, had Pelé,Neymar and 3 libertadores,2 more than palmeiras, flamengo and Corinthians

Copa libertadores a competition for the fans ,champions League for the shareholders of clubs
Obviously! The real football's passion it's here in South America and Libertadores is a great competition where everyone can be the winner
the libertadores is far better than the champions league
Club Nacional de Fútbol 🔵⚪️🔴
It still give me chills.
short answer : YES, rewrite the question : Is the Libertadores more passion cup than Champions? YES we play here with heart instead money.
always better
VAMOS SANTOS!!!
Santiago Dupetit GILnasia?
Santiago Dupetit aguante el lobo respete el templo grande Alberto Raimundi
Qué es un Gimnasia ?
aunque parece raro... alguna vez la jugo
I attended a final when I was 10 years old. I’m 30 now. I just watch the later stages now since the quality is not there anymore.
Gothic fx comprar copas jajaja
It depends on what do you look for in a game. If you only care about football quality, NOT A CHANCE.
I think it is. I love because there are most diverse clubs in the finals and it's a competition for real Underdogs.
