The concert was filmed last Sep. Arjen called Brittney and asked her to sing in this show because another of the female singers was unavailable. Of course she was thrilled, and after she accepted Arjen told her 'oh btw, we would like you to sing Floor Jansen's parts.😮. Floor gave birth to her 2nd daughter about 3 weeks after the show. Brittney sang the studio version of this song on the last Star One album, apparently this song was added to the set as Arjen's thank you to her. And they also pulled off "The Day That The World Breaks Down" at this concert, first time it was ever played live. Arjen has been a busy man since this show, working on 3 different albums and/or DVD's. The DVD for this concert, Lucassen and Soeterbroek's Plan Nine album(songs started 30 years ago and finally put together). And he composed the music and produced Simone Simon's upcoming solo album, Vermillion, which is sched for Aug 23.
The keyboardist is Sir Joost van den Broek. He is also the musical director for this show. He is the single most important figure in the Dutch metal scene. He produces everyone.
And he's been collaborating with Arjen for ages - he was on keyboard for the Star One "Live on Earth" show in 2002. Joost was 20 years old then. If you can get a hold of that DVD somehow, I'd *highly* recommend it. It's fantastic. Also featuring a 21yo Floor Jansen!
Well....He is one of the best in the scene and has his hand in many projects, but let's not overdo it. Also people that get knighted in the Netherlands do not earn the right to call themselves Sir. It is just not a thing. But I must say, it sounds really nice. I was at this concert and it was great. The concert consisted of playing the whole album 01011001 plus a few encores. This song here is part of the encores and is not an Ayreon song but a StarOne song. In the main part of the concert, Brittney took the role played by Floor Jansen on the album. So she had big shoes to fill and she nailed it!

The guitar player that did the solo is Timo Somers ( ex Delain) His dad Jan Somers was a guitarplayer as well. He played in a hardrock band in the 80's called Vengeance and in that band was also Arjen Lucassen playing guitar. Arjen left Vengeance in 1992 and after a flopped soloalbum he started Ayreon in 1995.
The studio version is played also with Brittney, and by Arjen himself, solo by Michael Romeo. That same concert also has a live version of The Day That The World Breaks Down, something that was thought impossible at first. But they pulled it off. Floor`s sister Irene up there with Marcela Bovio.

Arjen Lucassen is something else. His music and his projects blows the competition away. This concert was totally, utterly mindblowing from moment one to the last note. The hospital is still trying to remove my goosebumps and refill my tears of joy. It was that good. More than 60 nationalities in the audience with 25 main epic worldclass singers on stage accompanied by these absolutely world class musicians. Going to a concert of Ayreon is a life changing experience.
Concert was amazing. Into the Electric Castle was even better for my tastes... more melody, diverse musicianship, incredibly expressive vocals, topped off with Q from Star Trek as narrator :).
